Well it's been an awesome week :) Plants have responded way better than expected to both LST & fimming, I've got a good canopy and plenty of potential colas that are growing well and at an even level. Also, won £200 on a scratchy, so decided to invest in a better light. Went from 300w LED (true draw 130w) to 1800w LED (true draw 595w). The difference in the light is clear to see. Both plants have motored through initial training with LST and fimming without skipping a beat. I've read so many mixed opinions on topping / fimming autos, it was a hard decision to make. In the end, I decided to give it a try and find out for myself. If I'd had any concerns about the plants ability to cope, I wouldn't have done it, but if your plant is looking strong and healthy then it may be something to think about. Personally, I think there is no right or wrong, because it's probably entirely situational - too many variables like strain, genetics, environment, growing medium, lights etc to say one way or the other really. But for this grow right here? I think it was a good decision I'm extremely happy with the results. Scrog net now in place, and both girls are starting to boogy on upwards. No sign of pre-flower yet, I'm hoping they grow into the net before they start stretching too hard. Also, some weird findings from my runoff EC since I got the new light. Runoff EC has always been about 50-75 micro siemens above input. It was predictable as hell. But when the new light was installed, the runoff EC started to drop to about +25 from input... then the same as input..... and now my runoff EC is LOWER than input. Thought it might just be an anomoly, but it has now been consistently lower, every feed for the last 3 days. I'm going to post a question, but if anyone has any bright ideas wtf is up with that, let me know!! Overall this plant was great to grow, she just grew and was happy doing it the entire time, pretty good yield off a plant that was only about 12inches tall. Seemed to be a lot more resistant to deficiencies then the other two strains this grow. Definitely a great mid-day Smoke!

I don't have words to describe how happy i am She's getting fat fast, by the day! Also, very very sticky snow And the smell... Very distinct, strong odor, spicy, and earthy like coffee, but very dense, almost like some kind of industrialized cheap snack(?) Little fertilizer just to boost her, considering i'm using a really complete live soil. Watering about each 2 days. Little defoliation. Also i added carbonized rice husk as a soil cover and put up a yellow trap, just to be safe lol I really don't know how to describe it, if anyone smelled something similar before, please share with me :)

Today 7/30/19, day 57 and the start of week 9. I'm still continuing to alternate between days with my pesticide treatment (especially after finding that bug living on one of hulkberries fan leaf) and thrive alive green daily foliage spray as a prophylactic solution against any possible pests or mold going into these last few dog days of veg. I will flush them with distilled ph'd water for two days this weekend in preparation for flower. Then I'll start them on some "flower fuel" bloom booster on top of my secret for success flower recipe at 1/4 of the recommended strength. Outside of that still no adverse issue to report for the end of the 8th week. After my last trim, they both have responded very nicely, I was kind of worried about fat banana stalled growth. But one thing I noticed when I topped her at the 6th node, yes the main stem stopped growing but it developed many bud sites up and down every stem. Whereas hulkberry was topped at the 8th node, she has mainly focused on developing long stems and only 2 or 3 bud sites along her stems. Even though hulkberry in structure, is much bigger than fat banana and has a way bigger root system. Fat banana is bushier and has developed way more bud sites than hulkberry. I can't tell which strain will yield the most at this point only time will tell! Also, a big shout out to "J"@RQS, thank you for the excellent customer service. Another reason why Royal Queen Seeds is top 3 in breeding!!

Somewhat slacking with detailed photos from this week, been busy with the holidays/ family etc. hopefully should have a little more time to take some good ones for next week.. Not much to say, they are getting quite big! some more lower branches and leaves were removed and I've been watering every other day, about .5-.75 gal per plant until I see some run off and the top looks evenly moist. End of week 1 of flower and there are Lots of white pistils, a pleasant smell (controlled by my filter/vent) and some major stretching happening on the strongest branches. Already raised the light by a few inches twice now too keep the distance over 12 inches from these stretchy ones! 😏 Also found a large healthy looking seed in my grinder that I've saved (Mac 1 supposedly, its good smoke)

Beginning of week.. I almost started the flush this week.. But no, they need AT LEAST one more week of like a half dose of feedings.. then, I'll begin the flush. But they are both so beautiful! Lol.. So many purples in the ETHOS Cookies.. And the smell.. I can't get over the way she smells! So intense! Gonna be a great smoke for sure! Just don't want to harvest too early.. I did that with the Early Lemon Berry from ETHOS and it got me high.. But it was a very paranoid high.. Like VERY very paranoid hahaha.. I didn't like it.. But it tasted GREAT! But yeah, I harvested a little too early.. Not enough amber trichomes. And with these girls.. I feel comfortable flushing for 3 weeks if needed.. So this week I'm just gonna give them both a half dose (or so) of nutes but keep the sweetener at full power! Lol anyways.. Just (tRyInG tO) keeping these girls happy till the flush! The Mandarin Cookies leaves are beginning to look pretty pathetic.. They fall off pretty easily.. And look like complete shit in most spots.. Just can't wait to get these girls ready to smoke!!! They are getting STACKED! 💪💪💪 Mid week.. Still giving both plants: water, 1/2 feed, water, 1/2 feed, water, etc.. Mandarin Cookies gets watered/fed everyday (mornings) and the ETHOS Cookies gets watered/fed (afternoons usually). They are both looking like they should finish pretty close together. Trichomes are eVeRyWhErE! Seeing quite a few milky/cloudy.. Still quite a few clear tho too.. And almost no amber trichomes.. A couple here and there.. But not enough to even say amber are even forming really. Lol.. So pointless to even bring up.. Not till I see a gang of them.. Or at least a couple on one calyx to say there are some amber lol.. Just my 2 pesos, I guess.. Yet I suck at timing the harvest just right lol.. Still trying to find MY sweet spot.. Meh.. Anyways.. Just look at those pictures!!! Gorgeous colas! Good fucking job on these genetics ETHOS.. Good.. Fucking.. Job... End of week... Wow.. Just.... Wow... These ladies are looking awesome. This next week will be week 9 from 12/12.. Most of the pistils have turned.. Not all.. But more than 50% for sure. They are both looking about the same when it comes to pistils and trichomes.. Just BARELY starting to see some amber coming thru.. Still some clear.. But the next 2 weeks of flushing should give them enough time for the clear to mature a bit and should see more amber by then.. Hopefully not too many.. But I will harvest at the end of this week if they seem to mature too quick for another week.. 1 week of flushing in coco should be plenty.. I just like to overdose these ladies on water at the end.. It really does make a difference in my opinion.. I've even flushed a plant for like 4 or 5 weeks and yeah she looked like shit.. But only the leaves looked shitty.. The buds were still gorgeous as ever and VERY flavorful!.. Anyways.. This is about THIS grow.. These ladies are still loving life.. I have been slowly weaning them into the flush.. Not flushing them completely all at once.. But over a longer period of time so they can still get some nutes in.. But I am happy.. They are happy.. Tomorrow I will begin FloraKleen for both girls... And even run it thru the medium 2 days in a row.. Just to really get EVERYTHING out of the medium.. Then just water as I have been till harvest! Home stretch!!!!... On to the next week!...
