This week they came out of the nursery and started to absorb light from their leaves instead of water. Growth is slower with the Northern Lights vs. the Cookies Gelato. “Cookie” is a monster so I will name it “Cookie Monster”, and The Northern Lights is called “Noel” because she will be ready around Christmas… When I was young we used to get “Christmas Buds” around the second half of December, which was Original Northern Lights. It’s a childhood dream of mine to grow Northern Lights, so I’m so excited for her to grow up big and strong.😛

What can I say this was my largest single yield harvest to date - The BlackBerry OG from Emerald Triangle Seeds are worth growing and just be prepared to have a load of bud to trim, there are other strains that are east to trim than this one, it was laced with sugar leaves and took a while to trim up,, it was in the dry tent for 15 days, honestly I was worried and should have trusted my instinct and left it in longer, this may have made it easier to clean.. If you do not buy this stran and give it a try you are missing out!

Hoping this will be complete in next 2 to 3 weeks. Than have to cure. Lower leaves have issues. Top leaves look good. Day 50 increased nutes to max 1.2ml each per 500ml water. Ph6.6. Watered 250ml to see any damage tomo. Run off from soil ph came to 6.4. Day 51 watered 250ml from balance Day 52 watered 100ml watered with nutes ph6.6 Day 53 watered 200ml from balance and lowered lights to 45cm from 80cm. Hopefully more growth tomorrow 🙏

So the power went out due to city power failure 6 hrs into the light cycle for the day. That was fun. Buds have started to put on some size, so thats great! We were also in the longest deep freeze where I live in 50 years so the basement ( grow room) got really cold... especially during the power outage. Leaves are showing purple due to ( what I believe) cold temps. Maybe the outtage actually helped them because since then they really started packing it on. Very nervous about the possibility of herming because of what happened but i am keeping a close eys on things.

Week 8 of flower is in the books and this show is quickly coming to an end. I said last week we had about 7-10 days and I was spot on at the 10 day mark. I was only wrong about the order. The cheese is ready to chop before the rest and the gorilla cookies, cherry Bomb and lemon haze will follow in due course. The cheese is a beast and it’ll take a little time to get it all run through the bowl trimmer. At least the big one goes first. Her tallest colas have foxtailed like mar, despite the late supercrop. You can tell where the sweet spot for the light is at about 10” distance from the canopy. Any closer than that and the tails begin to show prominently. It’s a good example of just how close you can get to these fixtures with a little bit of prior experience. It’s been noted for the next run😎👍😎. The res. is on an h2o2 only flush for the remainder until the rest are ready to come down. Not a moment too soon either - the pollen chucking project has stalled out waiting for these girls to finish and now that we’ll have a little extra room, we can start running our cuts in the aerocloner🤟. Not long at all now folks. Thanks for tagging along through all this. Learned a bunch about this system and we’re back to hardware mode to make some serious improvements for the next run🤙😎. I love hardware mode😉. Background/Repetitive Nonsense The strain line up on this grow is look’n quite saucy 😈. We’ve got 2 FB strains this time around - Gorilla Cookies (seems we always have some GSC cross in the works). Mainly because the colours look stellar and remind me of a sugar breathe we did last year that was 🔥. The other FB is their original Cheese strain... because we already smoked all our cheese... and we really like our cheese...😉. Emerald triangle was kind enough to include a freebie of Lemon Haze. Wasn’t really big on the list but we haven’t done a haze strain to write home about yet so worth a go👍. The last is a Cherry auto from Bomb seeds that we’ve been trying to get to for months. Let’s just hope that she’s not a dud like the last bean. The new digs for this run are courtesy MarsHydro👊. Their 2x4 single grow tent, paired with a shiny new 240w QB courtesy ViparSpectra. These folks were kind enough to discuss a collaboration and as a result, here we are to test out the gear with an inaugural run of autos. Each week, we’ll try to expand on some of the benefits of each, as well as any limiting factors or considerations that need attention when pondering purchase. Already I can say that both are high quality products in terms of overall craftsmanship. MarsHydro 2x4 Grow Tent: Excellent construction in terms of durability. Reinforced stitching on the zippers and corners ensures zero tearing. Conveniently placed screen vents and intake/exhaust ports. The ceiling exhaust port only exists on the right side. Perfect for me but not great if you’re running exhaust from the top on the left side (left side wall port makes up for this however). The aluminum frame is rigid enough to support the weight of the lights and accessories. Once you have some weight in the tent, she’s go’n nowhere and you can assemble and break it down in record time if moving or stashing the grow op. Only limiting factors I’ve noticed is that temp. Control will be an issue for a tent. It just doesn’t have the same insulating ability as a wood cabinet or other permanent enclosed space. No worries, this is offset by a small desktop heater and keeps the environment exactly where desired. The other issue was a production problem - the ceiling vent was accidentally stitched into the corner seams on the assembly line. Again, no real issue - just pulled it out with no damage or fraying to the tent or port👍. Closest comparable to it that I’ve seen would be spiderfarmers line of qbs. They feature the same top-o-the-line components and roughly similar spectrums. Where VS takes the advantage is in the convenience of the dimmer nob which is easily accessible and works great at 50% with no strobing👍. The heat sink is also larger which contributes to lower temps. That’s not a good thing in my case but beneficial for most folks. I can already say that this will be a great fixture through all stages of growth. Where I know this light will excel will be in the veg. Stage for sure. Dimming function gives seedlings a much better chance of success with the ability to use lower lighting levels early on and the coverage area on a 240w is great. The average grower will find this panel suitable and fitting to their needs in a 2x4 grow space although I’d suggest 2 units if going any larger than that. The total output in this space equates to about 30w/sq.ft. Which is a decent amount of coverage based on power vs. Growprint. Ideal for veg. Certainly but, in flower - I tend to run closer to 50-60w/sq.ft to achieve higher yields. Again, similar fixtures have performed admirably in the past and while this wouldn’t be considered an “entry-level” fixture, I’d recommend that any grower new to the game not skimp on lighting and start with one of these. The price points are a great value for quality LED tech. These days, so there’s little reason to even consider a lesser fixture👍. I have no detail on limiting factors for this light as yet but have heard that stock branded fixtures don’t necessarily incorporate enough red diodes. I’ve seen no issue myself but confess - I’m no lighting guru. Beginning of week.. She is doing amazing! Runoff is right where it needs to be.. leaves are looking nice and green with not so much leaf burning on the tips anymore.. new sets of leaves daily! Gonna need to lollipop a bit more. She should produce a decent harvest! So excited to see what she does in flower! So far, I've noticed that she is making some purple striped stiples at the very crown of each (future) cola! So so excited! Need to raise light up a bit.. I think she's getting over 1000 micromols at the center sine she has stretched a bit... Next day.. Whoops.. not sure how the hell she managed to stretch up to 1400+ micromols so quick.. had to raise the light quite a bit and also dim her down just a tad.. now the center is getting exactly 950 micromols in the center and around 650 - 700 micromols around the edges of the tent (footprint). Perfect! I noticed some purpling on a couple of the higher leaves.. these were the leaves getting over 1400 micromols and temps have been another lower than anticipated. So if she starts turning purple this early on, then WOW!.. She should make some pretty colorful colas! Mid week.. She really needs a haircut. She has grown a few nodes on each branch just in the last 7 days or even less. So beautiful! Humidity is being a bitch right now. Up to 70% and my dehumidifier can't even get it to drop a little.. ugh. Cold front blowing through as I type this, so hopefully it'll blow this moisture out by the end of the day. Pistols should be making a crown pretty soon! Still stretching like crazy. She still has plenty of head room for it.. but damn, I really need to get some of these leaves and lower branches out of the way. That should help bring the RH down quite a bit too.. I know she isn't THAT big, but it's still gonna take me awhile to trim her up.. kinda wondering if I could wait till next week and get it all done at once.. cuz I feel like she may need one more with the speed she's been stretching at. Next day... Went ahead and removed ALOT of foliage.. humidity should go down quite a bit.. these leaves give off a very strong skunky scent.. can't wait to see the terp action of this strain! "OoOo.. DAY 57 : Changed light schedule to 24/0 to control temps dropping. Problem solved sitting between 22 - 27 at all times now. As you can see from the pics the 3 gallon pot is gonna be harvest a few weeks before the 5 gallon pot although the trichomes are still clear ATM. Still feeding every 2/3 days around 2.5 / 3 liters. The smell of these is just delicious. Day 58 trichomes are still clear, Day 60 Trichomes have started to turn cloudy. Seriously sticky and stinky covered in resin Day 62 - Trichomes are now over 50% cloudy. Gonna flush when the pot is next dry probably Monday ready to havest within the week.

Day 49 - 14th Day of Flower I'm starting to really enjoy this part of the grow. That said the amount they have stretched is crazy! My lights are maxed out height wise and they are only just 18" above the tallest colas so I really hope they finish up stretching soon. Nutes: I added PK13/14 for fridays feed and they seem to have responded really well to it. They have been fed every other day as they aren't quite drying up in 24 hours. One thing I have noticed this week is the smell! They have become incredibly pungent. Everytime i go in the tent I have to change my clothes as they just smell so much. The fan leaves around the bud sites are becoming sticky! I have taken the smallest one out to photograph this week. It was sick when i got it as cutting so wasn't topped as early as the others. That said it seems to have grown into a really nice shape and has lots of buds developing. No problems really this week. Just a bit of mild light burn which I kept on top of. They will have 1 more defoliation this week and then I'll leave them be.

Lemonade Haze grew great under the Spider Farmer SE3000 light. I did have a flowering delay due to wore out timer. So grow went a little long. The plant grew to the light within a few inches. So top foxtailing was inevitable. She smell like a sweet Lemonade. Super sticky. I had to take a big decision. I know it is not good it is way too hot in the tent but needed to remove from my garden because of some reasons. Firstly, illegal which is fine but I do not want to take a risk for 3 g of harvest. She should start flowering in autumn when less sun and weather is basically shitty here in London it is okay to grow but when starts flowering.... so I planted an auto and saw that it wont yiled good so I was thinking what will happend to my Zkittlez in autumn when mush less sun and weather is going down. So realised I can have a 2-3 m plant but it ain't gonna flower just a bit. Soni decided to put under artificial light but it is summer my plants are suffering in the tent. Inhave no choice I will try to manage maximum I will cut back. Hopefully all goes ok. Day 86: Fucked up she was totally wilt I removed all the leaves basically the stalk left only..... she will be okay

You can see how many vegetation they have, it almost cover the 85-90% of the tent, in the middle of flowering week 3 i will perform a massive defoliation. This week i can see how the Gorilla with the main-lining is developing more defined and taller colas than the other plants, let's see how they evolve in some weeks.
