Plants that are too far from an adequate light source will respond by accelerating stem growth in order to get closer to the lamp themselves. Especially when there are many other plants. A lack of lighting can easily cause overcrowding in a growing chamber, reducing the steady progression of your crop and the distance ratio between your bulbs and your plants. To address this problem, be sure to provide enough light to your plants to prevent stem growth. At the same time, you should not position your lights too close to your plants either since this would also result in an over-stretching of the stems and in some cases, the loss of your crop. In addition to the distance between the light source and the plant, the type of light you will use also affects the size of the stretching of your crop. The orange and red lights encourage stretching and result in thinner, larger stems. And conversely, blue light stimulates a growth of thicker stems and a smaller size. When a species is ready to enter the vegetative phase and undergo its most drastic stretching period, metal halide lamps can be used to deter far too long stems. THE HEAT Heat is another essential element that can determine the stretch size of your plants during vegetation. Temperatures above 27 degrees push the stems to lengthen more and more and will propel the potential of sativas to push as high as possible. Heat lamps that are positioned too close to plants create an intolerable environment that will grow large, soft plants that will potentially wobble until they fall and lose flowers in its fall. OTHER CAUSES OF STRETCHING There are multiple variables that can lead to the stretching of plants beyond what could normally be expected of the plant. Environmental stressors resulting from transplantation (when a plant passes from one pot to another) can cause the plant to return to shock. This will eventually trigger a reaction causing a stretch. Cannabis plants that are not grown in decent conditions or do not receive enough nutrients will respond in a variety of ways and this includes stretching. Crops that are not spaced far enough apart are likely to stretch to sting the light to other plants. Due to extreme proximity, the plants will fight among themselves to reach the light, forcing them to expand as much as possible throughout the crop. HOW TO CONTROL STRETCHING DURING FLOWERING Stretching during flowering, you guessed it, takes place when you move your plants from the vegetation stage to the flowering stage. This is a completely normal reaction, as your plants are preparing to bear the weight of their heads. Stretching of a plant at the beginning of flowering varies widely; some plants can double in height while others grow only a few centimetres. There are, however, two main variables that can give you at least an idea of how your plants are stretching during flowering, and how much. Here are these two variables: Variety: Genetics has the greatest impact on the size of your plant. In general, sativa varieties stretch more than indicas and tend to develop long, slender stems. Light: Some lights, such as HPS, are more likely to encourage stretching. In addition, great distances between your canopy and your lights will cause the plants to stretch as they try to get closer to the light source. Stretching during flowering usually lasts the first two weeks of the phase. To minimize stretching, keep your lights between 10 (for CFL) and 30 centimetres (for HID) of your canopy. Finally, choose indica varieties if you have a smaller growing space. HOW TO AVOID STRETCHING In many cases, you can expect your cannabis plants to stretch during the flowering phase. Keeping that in mind helps to make a plan in case your species ends up growing much more than you could have imagined. If the information is available, get information on the standard size of your species and compare it to the size of your growing space taking into account the necessary distances between the bulbs and the plants. TRAFFIC While outdoor crop operations benefit from natural air to naturally limit stretching, indoor crops must assume the maintenance of air circulation within a confined space. Basic ventilation is enough to help the cannabis stems strengthen and become thicker rather than too high. In this way, the plants continue to grow vigorously without reaching heights and at the same time, your tolerance ceiling. MANUAL INTERVENTION For growers who want to get their hands dirty, there are physical procedures that can be done to reduce stretching. Similar to the natural effect that the wind has on cannabis plants, manually bending the leaves and stems will cause tiny cracks in the plant's tissues that will cause the plant to focus on regenerating its wounds instead of its vertical growth. THE TOPPING Topping is a form of manual intervention on cannabis to influence its performance, shape or size. In essence, topping is a process in which a new node is cut, growing from the plant to reduce its size and create a "v"-shaped notch that will eventually form two heads. Topping may be an effective measure to combat stretching, but it is important not to do so when the flowering phase begins. In most cases, an abnormal stretch of cannabis plants will not completely destroy your crop. In fact, stretching can indeed help increase your performance. For growers with a growing operation large enough to contain tall plants, stretching can increase the total yield of a species with more vertical space for head formation. In both cases, stretching can easily be planned in advance and there are multiple solutions to help you with this problem which is all too common. May the force be with you 💪

Hi all not much going on this week just feed and kept comfortable hopefully done good enuf job 👍 Wedding cheese cake 2 weeks or so ahead of strawberry banana. Its me first grow though and really knew nothing when I started other than a bit of studying for few weeks never took into consideration about one strain finishing faster and no were to dry it so asked wife can use wardrobe,nearly ended living back with my mammy🤣🤣 I jst taught ill use that tent for everything haha how stupid was I to think different strians different plants all be ready together when I need them to not when they are haha so went out bought another tent small one so not to be tempted to fill that up is well then have to buy another one to dry before you know it I'll have ten tents and still no where to dry 🤣🤣🤣so small marshydro tent for drying and drying only haha then hopefully all be good anyone know the right temps and humidity for best results.I hear many different ones its very confusing.so started flushing wedding cheese cake going to try do at least ten days flush till tent comes with just ph 6.0 water still feeding strawberry banana fir another week or 2 maybe. Hello guys I’m sorry that I missed one week, the last week when she turned pink! Day 101 - harvest day, I had to wet trim my plant because i have problems with the humidity, it’s 98% rh outside and raining like hell. I haven’t invested in a dehumidifier yet didn’t think I had to use one🤦‍♂️🏽 Day 103 - day 3 drying Day 104: today I hade to cut the buds from the branches because my rh is to high hahaha! 😃 Day 105: I put my buds to jars today. I had a total of 124g trimmed buds! Day 106: had to put my buds outside the jars for 12hr for now to start with, had them over night and rh was 70% in the jars… having them now for drying again in 55%-60% rh

Right from the bat this strain was awesome, I would recommend potting up these plants or just keeping in a smaller container, they really really like to be in a small pot. I have another clone of the big pheno in flower now in a 1gal with coco and she is taking off like crazy.

Están bastante sanas , tienen muy buen color, se practicó una limpia de bajos y ramas que no eran necesarias porque no llegaran a la luz. Hasta ahora todo bien y ya superamos esta primera semana. Second week of flower and my ladys have all grown rapidly in the last week bud seem to be blooming already at a decent size also main stem has gone quite thick.

Big defoliation into flower, couple days ago, hopefully she’s done stretching, she growing into the light and I can’t raise it any higher 😩. But good news is cal mag cleared. And she definitely into flower. Took all of 50 days from sprout. But hey who’s counting 😭.

Estás dos de momento van bien, en cuanto vea algo q no me cuadre, o me quite la tranquilidad solución rápida, TODOS LOS DIAS se revisan las plantas a ver q tal van evolucionando posteriormente a el problema ocurrido... It was a good, busy week. The clones are down, dry, and now jarred. Total weight from them was 5oz. I didn't think I was going to get more than 2oz because I didn't put much effort into them. However they all turned out pretty solid for growing led and soil 😎 The mothers come down in 9 days and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how dense those will be! I'm pretty sure a certain someone is going to be donating to some polar bears 😏 because I'm damn sure getting more than 2.5oz per plant 😎 That's about it for now, happy growing everyone ✌️🍀✌️

This week went very well, I did some minor LST, and some light defoliation. I believe I have a nice base built for her, now I am just hoping she grows a little bit before flower. She is starting to show some tiny white hairs, but I think I have another week of growth left. Thanks for checking me out and blaze on.

Week 8 and growth continues to be muted. Due to the poor soil, I'm only slightly scratching the strain's potential. I've attached a video of the insects that were in the soil, along with the fungus gnats. After a week in the greenhouse, the ladies have taken root and are growing well. This despite the lack of sun and less than ideal temperatures. But summer is supposed to return this week. We'll see what happens then...

Yoooo what’s good, this is the fifth week of flower. The Zoap is doing amazing This girl is getting frosty and goodness the nugs are stacking nicely. Can’t wait to grow her again but will try to do a solo run in the 4x4 with her to make her a monster 👿 Extremely happy with this genetics so far. She is a champ in the heat wave so far. Wow what can I fucking say... A real experience this was. True og x platinum is special cultivator. This freebie was a limited get it or don't this weekend sale only. I was lucky enough to snag some s7, candy cane, and 2 true ogs. The first true og failed due to me trying new germ methods. This one however weather no lights for 8 days with a window seal veg. She them bounced back and grew VIGOROUSLY. With the help of clonex and great white, we were able to top and clone her 2 weeks in veg and with strong lateral roots in 8 days. As week 3 to 4 approached we then transplanted the clones into a new solo which was uneeded I know now. She great rapidly and was then sprayed with 30ppm colloidal silver. This was to prep her for a reversal in hope of a potential keeper just based on her vegetation growth alone. She is incredible man, a really fast grower. As we approached week 5 and 6 of the vegetation process her clones got huge with big fan leaves which is know of the True Og since she is a high Indica hybrid. Her mama was the spread out over theist days of her vegetation cycle and achieved around 32 tops. For and indica she does stretch well but my downfall was not knowing she was indica or "noticing" it by physical traits. I should have given her 8 weeks and then I would have had 64 tops with everything spread out with an impressive lollipop.... maybe 128 one tent?!.. In all honestly I should have given her 8 weeks to create 30 colas instead of bud sites and nice chunky tops. Amazing quality just need the yield... okay back to it.. As the stretch went for around 3 weeks or 20 days, I hsted and lsted where needed to keep an even canopy. She transitions to flower fast and likes bloom around week 3 into 4. She builds heavy frost early on in the first 20 to 30 days to flower. Next time she will definitely go past 70 days. 62 days was definitely pristine and she definitely is a keeper. As mid to late flower set in, I Backed off gradually on the grow and increased on the bloom. I threw in terpinator late but will try near week 4 to 5 next go at her. She stacks incredible fast and well. Each bud created on this monster are dense as golf balls. She then starts to fade around Day 40. The 40s you will see purples and fall colors which then turn into a mix of reds, violets, autumn, and blackish purple. She then throws the most tirchomes once she near day 50. Her bracts bulk hard as they fatten to finish but her pistils which are thin and horse hair like are very very few. This is an amazing feature as her flower to leaf ratio is more hmmm give me bud.. Her terp profile boasts early and bullies other plants until harvest. She smells of berries, just, gas, spice.... honestly it's extremely complex... As I finally pulled her slightly amber on day 62 which was one of her early harvest ranges I'd day 60 to 75 for this strain. She was all cloudy however during the pull. As the mom dried for a couple of days, we pulled some okay numbers and have learned a lot and we also know what to do to triple this harvest number next go.. the clone was also successfully reversed and we believe created f1s true og x plat visions cut and true slurricane by visions... we will updated as soon as we know... Smoke report: OH man... this will be an ongoing thing until Christmas... I won't smoke much more until after march.. She is being saved until I get more. True Og x Plat 💯 hits like a fucking truck. She is a heavy head hitter with body stoning blended in as well which give her a nice balanced hybrid hit. It truly lives up to the platinum lineage tho with inhouses trichome productivity which is sugary and potent on hit almost like the sugar cane 🤔 She is extremely sticky when grinding into a bowl. The bud sticks completely in your top grinder almost every time.. As you smoke her you get the smoothest God damn smoke you'll ever smoke.. The smoke has a diesel pungent sting to the nose immediately after you take a hit. I'd say for a rookie it's probably a no go for you buddy... soon after that you are given the true og coined term "couchlocked" A real winner with other flavors which are extremely complex and can't be named until later--------------->>> The flavors found/ complex terpene profiles given off by this cultivar are I'd say "loud". Very creamy berry kush notes on the jar opening. When you smoke her 2 hits into a bowl, your face with feel red and flushed like a dab would. Shes like smoking pure hash essentially. Thats how greasy she is. On the exhale you experience complex notes but mainly earthy diesel kush funk. Very enjoyable relaxing high. Very potent. 2 friends took 2 hits and said it was too much to function even after that... for an average smoker it needs a warning label 🏷️ True Og X Platinum truly serves its purpose medicinally in large amounts with pain numbing goods and most important sleep. She takes the tension from everyday endeavors and throws that shit in the rear view mirrors. Large amounts induce permanent sleep. This is highly recommended as a night time smoke which worms great with my lifestyle. I really enjoyed growing this cultivar. The only thing I regret is not giving her 2 more weeks in veg. I would have capitalized instead of just getting some. Would have doubled if not tripled my harvest numbers. OH well. There will be a volume 2 shortly 😀 Update: No clone seeds. Pollen was kept. I believe it was due to using a store bought ppm. Nearly 35 days I think to get some pollen. Wasn't strong enough to reverse in a timely fashion for pollination. I'll grab a clone from wicked however and still continue crosses however. Rawtton will get some true og pollen however. All is not lost.

Morning of day 14- tops look dry but it’s just the very surface. They took a little longer than I wanted to dry out. The weather has been cold windy and rainy, not much sun lately, and we are still about a month away from our potential last frost date. Farmer’s Almanac says last frost date is May 30th or something crazy, even though the days are normally rather warm by now. I haven’t fed as of Day 14 because they are not dry enough, there is plenty of amendments in the pot, especially towards the bottom, except I will still spoon feed a little bit. I just rehydrated the tops as they were really dry at least 1-2 inches of the tops were dry, but the bottoms are still plenty wet, so with clean water in a spray bottle, I just lightly rehydrated the top a lil, so I might be feeding tomorrow for day 15, but I don’t know yet. Keeping the tent around 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and only about 25-30% RH. This helps me compensate for the lack of heat provided by the LEDs and help the plants adapt to a higher water demand. I haven’t seen the low humidity effect the seedlings, intact all the plants that grow outside in the hot bone dry climate LOVE IT! They were praising all last year. So to help keep me away from damping issues and to better prepare the little ones for the outdoors, I’m trying to match a hot and dry environment in the tent. With VPD levels way up in the red, I have yet to experience a negative impact. I have damped off enough plants in my life, it’s a lot harder for me in 60-70%RH to water the plants and get them to dry out fast enough in the tent with cold LEDs.

Week 6 Update Things are doing really nicely in my auto tent.The buds are starting to fatten up. The purple pheno looks amazing 😍. The Mixed Auto #3 is doing great even though her leaves are curled. I'm letting her dry out longer before I water her. Also the 2 autos to the back are 1 week behind the 2 to the front Can't wait to see how they look this coming week. See yall next week!
