Today October 25th is the First day of Week 6 In Flower. Received the Refractometer and got right to pressing. First I tried a mortar and pestle to extract the sap -- this worked ok but took a lot of time and force. Then I tried 2 spoons held together and squeezed with vice grips (didn't work for me). 2 Pieces of MDF board squeezed together with vice grips didn't work either. I guess I'm not strong enough. Tried a blender, a hand blender...neither of these worked! Then the vice, it was faster and took less force to extract the sap. Works great! Took leaves from top to bottom of each individual plant. (16 plants) Rolled a few leaves up, put in a numbered piece of parchment and pressed.....voila...sap😃 Refractometer was already calibrated and ready to go. Placed sap on meter, held up to light and there it is! My first BRIX reading😮 using $28 Refractometer. Going to change base nutrients to a "hard water" formula. So impressed with Harley Smith that I've ordered some NPK RAW products. Like the idea of micro dosing. I sent Harley an email and he replied the same day! Not a canned response either. So cool. Thanks Harley! AND he took a look at GrowDiaries and this grow✊😃 What a kind gentleman. 😇 Hope I didn't go overboard but I watered again today with amino acids and cal mend to try to fix this Calcium def. Will Brix leaves tomorrow and see if this makes a difference. The brix line yesterday was very clear and very easy to read indicating a calcium def. Maybe locked out from too much phosphorous or hard water? Watered Oct 29 & 30 Temp 20 PH 6.4 EC 1.9 Runoff EC 1.9 to 2.3 after at least 2-3 Gallons of water put thru each pot. Some pots Runoff were way off the charts😵EC 3.6! . Put water thru until EC hit 2.3 on 2 pots others were EC 1.9 to 2.1. Put 56 Gallons or 220L thru plants over a 2 day period until I reached a better EC.

She only grew 1cm this week. She's really charging through flowering. Trichome production has been high this week. I wish there was a way to view the pictures in hi-res on a desktop pc instead of the small window. Timelapse this week is almost useless. No input from me other than watering/nutrients.

The studio photo session this week captured the exact transformation: the difference between “pre-flower promise” and “flower reality.” From here forward, every day is about bud development, resin production, and stacking density. ⸻ 💧 Feeding Update – Bloom Formula Dialed In The nutrient program continues blending Aptus precision with Plagron bloom support. New Irrigation System – Mars Hydro Foldable Bucket Drip Kit This week, we also welcomed a new tool into the grow room: the Mars Hydro Drip Irrigation Kit (link here). 👉 Important note: I’m not running it on automation or timers. I will manually control it, plugging it in and off when watering. This way, I get the benefit of precise, even distribution, while keeping full hands-on control. What it is: • A bucket-based drip system that distributes water (or nutrient solution) evenly to multiple pots through adjustable drip emitters. • A way to reduce manual hand-pouring and ensure more consistent soil hydration. • A tool that can save root systems from “wet/dry pockets” that sometimes happen with hand-watering. What it is NOT: • It’s not fully automated irrigation (unless connected to timers or sensors). • It doesn’t make plant care “hands-free.” You still have to decide when and how much to water. • It won’t replace observation—plants still speak through their leaves and posture. What to Expect: ✅ More even watering across pots. ✅ Reduced runoff mess if dialed correctly. ✅ Less physical strain compared to hand-watering each plant. ✅ The chance to experiment with “precision irrigation” in future grows. What NOT to Expect (yet): ❌ Fully automated feeding schedules. ❌ Perfect calibration out of the box (it takes a few runs to dial flow rate for each pot). ❌ A substitute for plant observation—eyes on the canopy are still the most important tool. Educational takeaway: Drip systems are bridges between hand-watering and full automation. They give growers consistency without completely removing the grower’s role. For many, this is the sweet spot—technology supporting, not replacing, the human touch. P.S. #2 – Pheno #1 vs. Pheno #2: Different Timelines Another important note this week: the two Mango Kush sisters are not in the exact same stage of flower. • Pheno #1 – More advanced. She is already in full flower mode, pistils bursting, bud sites defined, white hairs everywhere. This is the classic “week 3 flower look.” • Pheno #2 – Slower. She is not yet fully in flower. Why? Because she was germinated later and is effectively running a slightly younger internal clock—closer to 11–13 from seed. 👉 With the 11/13 light schedule (11 hours on, 13 off), Pheno #2 is taking her time to settle into bloom. This is not a problem, it’s genetics and timing. Each seed is unique, and sometimes phenos stagger into flower. What this means for the grow: • Don’t expect both plants to bulk at the same time. • Pheno #1 may finish earlier. • Pheno #2 could become the “late bloomer,” giving us a longer harvest window and potentially different terpene expression. Educational takeaway: Not all phenotypes follow the same timeline, even under identical conditions. One may stretch earlier, another may flower later. As growers, our role is to adapt and respect the individuality of each plant. 🌱 💚 Growers love to all 💚

Temperature dropped this week, rain came, next week looks awful, so we're pulling her tomorrow! She's at a full 9 weeks now, 7-9 for this strain, trichomes are looking great. Will be sad to see her go, but I'll update harvest next week, will be pressing some Rosin, and hash runs late Oct that I will update as well. 530am, Snip tops, fan leaves, wash, one bucket baking soda & lemon juice, 2 rinse buckets, drip dry for a few then bring inside to hang dry. After 5 days, will paper bag sweat for a few days, then snip, super light trim and into grove bags. Will press for Rosin next weekend (assuming she's dry) so I'll update then to see how she looks! Rest will be frozen for hash. She smells amazing, hardly lost any to rot but had some rain yesterday so I'll keep an eye on her while she's drying. Super sad to see her go, I may leave some lower scraps for a few weeks and see how she does!

So after 106 days + 11 days drying im finally done with my first grow. Got 97g dry buds + 30g shake Way more then i anticipated. Alot of the buds are pretty airy but the top ones qre pretty solid and all of them have amazing coat of trichomes. Im so greatful i had this experience. I learnt alot and have way more confidence to grow more and my plan was to have my first grow to anwser all the questions i had. Im cant believe i spent less then 300$ on this setup and harvested equals to like 1,500 - 1,700 $ of buds(prices in my country) thats definitely going to help me with the economy situation right now. And all this was stealth inside my closet, i had family members comming and didn't notice nothing i just had to turn off the blower fan since it's the only thing in my setup which isn't stealth. I know i didn't gave her the best conditions but she showed me how strong is a Cannabis plant 😍 Im just starting my 2nd grow - Auto Northen Lights. Stay tuned

esta semana seguimos doblando y podando alguna que otra ramita . Al parecer la nº1 ,la Triploide (tres ramas mismo nudo), que pasó a ser diploide (dos ramas mismo nudo) después de podar el primer apical parece ser que ha vuelto a Triploide y esto podria dificultar las otras dos ramas que van más avanzadas por lo que me decidí por cortar y así que siga diploide. A los 40 dias volví a podar los segundos nudos de cada rama dejándolas ahora si listas para pasar a floración en un par o tres de dias. más un agarre de las ramas a las macetas y así ir deshaciéndome de los dobladores , estos estan quedando pequeños. A los 41 dias me dió por cambiar de posición la nº2 y ponerla en el lugar de la nº1, la triploide. La nº2 está creciendo algo más vigorosa que las otras dos y la nº1 va por el camino de quedarse algo más enana. La nº3 seria un intermedio.

The plants grew well this week, as did all the clones. Any extra rooted clones have been planted outdoors as a further experiment. We moved all the clones into a Veg room. Even though the large room is not in flower and still also in veg, we had to separate the plants due to lack of space. Also setting up for mother, clones and SOG in the future. The plants were defoliated and training continued. There are 2 weeks of Veg left hoping to have some very large plants for flowering. Aiming for large flowers.

Day 55! Just shy of the 8 week mark, I reckon next week the Lemon cherries will be getting the 🔪 buds swollen out nice, still lots of white pistils and very clear trichomes, but with the way there developing I’ll have to keep a close eye.. gorillas starting to bulk up now, as always I’m looking forward to what this week brings, untill next time! 👊🏻

This week has been going good I think I will be chopping some of the buds off of her within the next week to start the drying and curing process im going to try my hand at cloning this lady.

First week outdoors and the girls are just loving the fresh air and sunshine! Have been bringing them into solarium at night because we are still hitting 1°-2° some nights, and the solarium only gets down to 14°. Warm nights (>12°) should be here to stay in the next few days, will have them grounded then. Soil pickup and pot preparation today. I get my soil from a local landscape material yard. They do a great "garden mix", has good drainage and very healthy soil. Plants always seem to love it, and at $45 a yard it's so much cheaper than bagged soil. Also today is the day I pick my two of the litter before the other two go to their homes at my in-laws place. Probably take the black pots, all four girls look so good might as well take a tall and a short see which does best! Plants were topped Day 29 from seed and recovered well, quite noticable thickening of the main stem, and by end of week about 1" new growth on tops.

It was finally time to harvest her, what good times we had with her. Amazed with how beautiful this plant is, how easy to manage and train and how rewarding Orange Hill Special is. So we said our thanks and goodbye, thanked her for all the joy she gave while growing her. I realize more and more how I love growing them even more than the end-product. It takes my mind of all going on for a while, in my miniature jungle world in the attic. Im sure all of you just sometimes sit there and watch them, in wonder, dreaming away with a good buzz on, watching them wave in the wind of the fans. So with a heavy hart I apologize, play them their last music, sit with them and feel them and smell them, watch the glistening of the cristals. In the end we had 209 gram dried Orange Hill Special, I will know the total of the grow, in a few days, since the final big whopper still has to dry: my XtraKush, be sure to check the harvest of that one *in couple of days) and see a one-dollar seed outperform two 10 dollar seeds. This week, I finally harvested. In my opinion, the plants were nicely ripe and ready for harvesting. I decided to dry the plants whole and hang them in the tent with the exhaust fan turned on. The plants smell good, and the humidity in the tent is between 55-65%, depending on the weather conditions.
