Banana kush autoflower was a okay grow. She was very hungry and threw my ph off several times. So she had some leaf damage through flowering. She had more potential then I got out of her. Still a good grow and lots of sweet flower. My good friend convinced me that trimming and training are paramount, so I've started with slowly defoliating the Creme de la Chems to try and get to lollipop status. They're just starting to flower, so I figured I could get away with a more aggressive approach. Because I failed to train these girls early, I'm stuck dealing with a little rain forest. What I've tried to do is trace each flower topped stalk up from the base, and trim away from the bottom up. 1/3 of the way up per day. I've now got a thick canopy, and I've been trying to just use leaf tucking and manual manipulation every few hours in order to keep the different height flowering sites in direct light. These ladies have really been thriving, and it's been such a joy to watch them grow! I like having two plants in one net pot letting them grow wild, but I think in my next grow I'll keep it to one per pot and train better from the start. As for the Super Orange Haze ... not as good. I attempted to pull the main branch over to train her to some empty space, but I was too aggressive and ended up popping her head off :(. First grow, first disaster. I took the head and stripped her/coated in clonex and pushed her into some potting soil just to see what would happen. There hasn't been enough foliage to really make me want to do any trimming, I've just tried to tie the stalks off to train them apart. I'm really sad about my mistake decapitation, but she seems to be doing well still. She's probably week 2 of flower based on others' journals. I changed the water midway through the week (which is when the videos were taken). I drained most of the water out, but roots prevented me from getting the last few gallons. When I refilled the res with RO, I measured the PPM at around 200. I have to assume that remaining nutrient was completely unbalanced leftovers, so feeding will have to just have to be experimental. My approach has been to give around 1:1 Gro vs Bloom and Micro every 2-3 days when I refill with RO. I want to build my PPM up to 1000, but slowly so that I can detect if I hit a ceiling first. It's hard to measure how much food is in the water based on PPM. CalMag is what drives it mostly, so I've been using CalMag as a sort of measuring stick. I keep the CalMag pegged to the Bloom food, but I know it's only good for initial dosing. I can't assume the plants are eating CalMag in the same proportion as anything else :(. If anyone has a line on cheap lab testing ... hit me up. I'd love to be able to test a few hundred samples at a time for NPK and trace so that I can tell (even if post facto) what was going on.

It’s-a-growing... Not too stoked on how quick the top layer of soil is drying out with the hot weather. Definitely see a decrease in predator mite activity on the surface... hopefully they’re still busy down below. I added straw to help keep the upper layer from drying out... This decrease in beneficial bug activity could also be from switching to tap water... I did some rain water from my barrel to begin with, but got scared of pathogens because I know crows take lunch breaks on my roof and their scraps definitely means rodents coming in to clean up 😩 The tap water has no chloramide in it, so that’s a good thing. Hopefully my tiny air pump and stones bubbling a 5 gallon bucket for 24 hours gets rid of enough chlorine to keep the micro biological ecosytem in balance 🙏

Week 5 and looking alive! Lol added a few things this week. Two infared heat lamps for warming up the cool start to their day. I also added a deep red light for evening and morning simulation.

it grows so fast. The lower leaves are shaded and away from the light. So I cut them as the plant gets taller I really don't have a good setup to be able to clean my roots. I tried this week anyway. I watered each pot with 2L (not enough I think :/) of water at 450PPM PH: 7 then after I gave 1L of water at 900PM PH: 5.5. There was a big puddle in the room afterwards. But it wasn't that hard to clean up after all. Hey now, hope everyone is having a great weekend. This week went great for the 5 mainlines. I got the final toppings completed for all the ladies, I got them done on the Sundae Driver and Red Hot Cookies on day 38, and the Durban Nights, Green Crack, and the Bubble Runtz topped on day 40 for the final time. At this point there is not much more training left to do, just some minor LST to try and keep all 8 tops per plant level, and some minor defoliation along the way. I am planning to Veg them for 1-2 weeks and flip to flower probably sometime in week 8 depending on how fast they grow. I do have them all on milk crates which are 10" each so I will place them on the floor and adjust the light power probably about the time I flip to flower to accommodate the stretch. I am still feeding GH nutrients, silica, cal mag, and maxi grow. I will transition to flower nutrients approximately one week after flipping to flower. I have found that it is important to continue feeding plenty of Nitrogen through the stretch. The only way I would transition sooner is if I was running out of vertical space. Still very pleased with the Spectrum X from Medic Grow. I am running her at 69% and the plants seem very happy and healthy. The heat and humidity are finally letting up in my region so it is nice to be able to open some windows and drop the temp outside the grow tent. Another excellent week comes to its close. Purplematic is boosting 3 huge colas, while its foliage get yellowish. It may have its last 3 weeks ahead before the cut. It’s foxtailing but still going strong with its wonderful colors. Size is small and I wonder my next experiment with this plant would be HST or even multiple toppings to slow down flowering and have a longer vegetative phase. We ll see. By the way this week I started feeding Rokzbastic instead of Bloombastic, for ripening and densification of buds. Pink Kush putting on 3 awesome super huge colas that are starting to get full of trichomes. This plant is really doing great and itss production will be awesome. I just wonder what main flavor it will have. The plant has at least 5 weeks more before cut. CBD 20:1 underwent HST to slow down its growth in height. The result is that the plant embraced the opposite direction completely, abandoning the attempt of flowering its standard main cola and rather boosting a very well distributed flowering along its branches. The plant may need 7 more weeks, but due to lack of time I will need to chop it in 5. I really hope by then will have grown its buds fully. Also for this one I m very curious to taste it!

I took the plant out of the box, the lights on the bloom were hot due to the lack of a box, it was cold outside but there is no other way yet. let’s see what comes 🙏🏻

Puues ya va quedando meenos. Todas estan sufriendo de sobrefertilización, por suerte, esta y la Pakistan lo están asimilando muchisimo mejor. Las critical si están bien sobrefertilizadas 😅. En el proximo riego, a todas les haré el riego solo de agua con una dosis media del producto Flush, de la marca que sigo usando. En el siguiente algo de comida y ya en el siguiente enzym y de nuevo a los riegos normales, no por na, siento que aún quedará un mes minimo para empezar con los cortes. PD: IMPORTANTE, voy a poner datos que no solía poner por la "dificultad" entre muchas comillas ya que es dificultad por una situación especifica, de sacar y es que como antes comentaba, habían bloqueos y tal... Bien, he medido el agua de drenaje de cada planta. En esta los valores de ph estan mas o menos bien, peeero la EC era lejia viva! En esta planta el ph era de 6.33 y la EC era de 10.25 MILISIMENS! que no microsimens... Una toxicidad altísima! Muy similar a las otras 4. Básicamente mis riegos eran por lo general 2 a la semana, uno de fertilizantes base con el especifico de cada fase que toque, y el segundo riego era de encimas con normalmente calmag (fertilizante muuuy salino) y a eso le juntamos que normalmente los riegos eran justitos, normalmente no había drenaje, por lo que las sales en el sustrato se iban acumulando hasta estos puntos. Hoy, tras varios dias de dejar secar las macetas, incluso buscando un poco de estres hidrico, he metido un riego de 6L por maceta de agua con el producto Flush para hacer un arrastre y limpieza de sales, en esta ocasion los 6L han sido la medida perfecta para que drenase agua suficiente como para que estos niveles de ec bajen, y ademas en el plato pudiera medirlos y darme el resultado que he puesto anteriormente. Todo comenzó porque en la Kritical GB sentí un bloqueo de pk y la planta empezó a comerse sus hojas para conseguir magnesio, si llego a verlo como una carencia de magnesio o calcio la hubiera cagado atrozmente!

DAY 37 FLOWERING!!. ( i screwed up my counting !!. flowering began 12th july. ) This lady continues to impress me. with 3-4 weeks left on her she has some serious potential for fat buds. I have found sone bud rot due to high rh , killed me to lop it off but had to be done. Working with 2 extraction fans now for air. She smells beautiful and is very very sticky now.

Despite that there was a bit of mold on the top 2 buds, it turned out to be a very nice amount :-). After the lady was in the dark for 48 hours she was trimmed by hand :-). Then the buds were put into the drying tent at 62% humidity, where they now remain for 8-12 days before they are put into the jar to ferment with 62% boveda packs.
