Hello everyone 🌱 I’m writing this while walking by the sea, reflecting on the next run. I’m currently smoking some White Russian from my last grow, and I have to say… it really surprised me. I’ve always had a simple philosophy: life is short, so I try to grow as many different strains as possible instead of repeating the same ones. But this time, Serious Seeds really got me. White Russian, Bubblegum, AK-47… these are not just strains, they have a very strong identity. In particular, I found a White Russian phenotype that I would definitely keep and grow again. I regret not cloning it. That experience made me appreciate even more the work behind these genetics. Each strain expresses something unique, both in structure and effects, and that’s something I’m starting to understand more deeply. ⸻ About this run I honestly didn’t expect this opportunity. I reached out to Serious Seeds without big expectations, and they gave me the chance to test one of their new strains: 👉 Fruity Durban (Serious Mimosa × Durban) This is currently a test strain, so I’ll be growing it almost completely blind. I deliberately avoided researching too much about it. I want to observe it for what it is, without external influence. ⸻ Constraints & approach Due to where I live, I can only run one plant, which means I won’t be able to explore different phenotypes or evaluate stability. So this will be a more focused test, centered on a single expression. At the same time, this run will be more challenging than usual: • I’ll likely be harvesting in mid-summer • high temperatures could impact terpene preservation and plant stress ⸻ Living soil system I grow in a living soil system (113L pot), which I like to think of as a bioreactor. Before starting, I reactivated the soil by: • adding fresh worm castings • light top dress amendments • reintroducing clover as cover crop The goal is to rebuild microbial activity before transplanting. ⸻ Philosophy for this run Unlike my previous grow, where yield was very high, this time I want to focus on: 👉 terpene expression and overall quality For this reason, I’m considering a very light-touch approach: • minimal training • possibly a single topping (to avoid excessive main cola density) • otherwise letting the plant express itself naturally I don’t want to interfere too much. I want to observe. ⸻ Germination I started by placing the seed directly in a glass of water. I decided not to use H₂O₂ this time, in my experience it can help, but it’s not essential. Now we wait. ⸻ I’m really curious to see how this strain will behave in this environment, especially in these conditions. This will be a journey focused on observation, learning, and quality over quantity. Let’s see what comes out of it 🌱

Weather isn't so great at the moment. Lots of rain. Had a few slugs so have put down some slug pellets around but not too close to the plants. The branches are nearly holding their position after being tied down. Still no flowers but must be coming soon

Hey, there peeps! Apologies for not updating my diary as I have been quite busy balancing non-plant responsibilities -.-! Anyway, we are now on day 75 since I ordered my equipment and started germinating my seed and day 71 since I placed my seedling in her first Coco pot! She is now a staggering 4 foot 2 - which was overwhelming considering this is my first grow and orginally only cleared out 2/3 of my cuboard but now it uses the whole space but she's coming along so well! I have also added a LED Grow Light Full Spectrum 50W Red COB as I wanted some extra light for the bottom half nuggests. She is very healthy (I assume from the strong healthy roots) and hasnt shown any major defects other then the initial defects i encountered in week 2-3 and slight light burn on the top cola in week 7 which was from the plant growing so quickly and touching the light, but I did then adjust the light within 2-3 hours. What do you guys think and how did she get so tall consdiering she is an auto-flower and the strain is meant to be indica domiant?

The plants hung in the grow tent with the exhaust fan running low for 10 days with an RH between 45-50%. 80 grams at trim from 3 Blueberry Autos. For a first time grower, I tried to let the plants do their own thing mostly, aside from some lite defoliation and tucking. In doing this I see ways I can improve. After curing for 10 days, first sample was not disappointing. (I intend to cure it at least 1-2 months.) Sweet berry aroma when chopping up the bud. Smooth burn with white ash. Can get a hint of berry flavor in the smoke however it also is not ready yet. But I can almost predict the possible flavors after curing. I believe a strain like Blueberry benefits from longer cures of a few months or more. I will attempt to give it as long as possible. Overall impressed with the grow and look forward to the final smoke. Ready to apply what I've learned and improve on my next grow.

Dec 9: They are looking pretty good as far as I can tell, having trouble debating to cut off some fan leaves or not, this is my first ever grow and I don’t want to stress it out any more than it has. The way I trained the plant is definitely suboptimal, next time I will plant the seed off to the side a bit to have room to bend. Also should I just continue with tucking almost everyday or cut the troublesome leaves covering bud sites? And the bottom node, should I skip the chutes? Is it okay to cut things off at this stage of its life? They are definitely still in preflower as there are only presence of the “V” hairs at each budsite, and smell is very weak.

Buenos humos!

Starting this week I will also add Oxygen granulate (KMPS, CAS-70693-62-8, 2KHSO₅ * KHSO₄ * K₂SO₄) I use this once a day to reach ~250 mV on my ORP meter, it is not calibrated so it more of a good guess, adding this helps to keep the reservoir stable even with higher nutrient temperatures in summer and it also adds a little Kalium/Potassium for the plants. The ORP probe is not calibrated and values are to be taken with a grain of salt. Values are average of the day. Everything is fine, our Himars M142 is growing well. It has grown 20 cm in a week. I made the fertilizer myself))) I steeped 0.5 kg of Georgian tea in 0.5 liters of water for 2 hours, diluted it with 2.5 liters of water and watered the plant with this solution. And another fertilizer - I blended 2 bananas and placed the mixture in 2 liters of water, strained it, and let the mixture steep for 2 days. Then, I watered the plant with this mixture.

Hello This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of veg. Got them repotted a few days ago and took them off their heating mats. So some of them a looking a bit wilty, because they are cold. They are doing good otherwise. Got 5 essential oils coming from Amazon tomorrow. Got Garlic, Clove, Oregano, Rosemary and Cinnamon. Got those pages off... theindoornursary.com/blog/best-essential-oils-for-plants/ Or try... theindoornursary.com/blog/cannabis-pests/ Just trying to help you fight pests and mold and fungus. I might have a 50% off your first order, code, from UHKTA Seeds. If your interested check back here next Wednesday to see. Won some seeds in their contest... Candy House... Then won a 50% off code from their next contest... then won some more seeds in their diary of the month contest. When I know my seeds are coming I'll give out the 50% off code, has to be used by May 1st this year though. Check back if your interested. OK. Be Great. Chuck.

Just given water this week (nutrients won't let me display 0 😱) The leaves have lost their green right into the buds so it's time to chop them down. I'll try to do this later today or in the morning.
