# GodFather OG by Zamnesia | Pheno B 🌱👔
## Germination Week | Another Seat at the Family Table
Hello GrowDiaries family! 👋🌱
Welcome to another new journey.
As some of you may have noticed, I've recently changed the way I'm documenting my grows. With the current photo limitations on GrowDiaries, each phenotype now receives its own dedicated diary instead of sharing a single journal with its sisters.
This allows me to continue documenting every stage of development in as much detail as possible while selecting the best photographs from each week.
The goal remains exactly the same as always:
To create a complete educational record from seed to harvest while sharing observations, successes, mistakes, lessons learned, and everything in between.
Today, we welcome GodFather OG Pheno B.
And just like her sister, she arrives carrying a name that brings certain expectations with it. 😄

## A New Member of the Family
Every seed begins the same way.
Small.
Silent.
Unassuming.
Yet inside that tiny shell exists an entire future waiting to unfold.
For this run, we're following GodFather OG from Zamnesia Seeds, cultivated under a 12/12 from seed schedule from the very first day of life.
A method that is a little different from what most growers choose, but one that has become part of my own cultivation style over time.
Throughout this diary, I'll do my best to explain not only what I'm doing, but also why I'm doing it, allowing anyone interested to follow the process from beginning to end.
For now, another member has officially taken her seat at the family table.
And the story begins.

## Germination Using the Cannakan System
To start this run, I once again used the Cannakan germination system.
Simple.
Reliable.
Organized.
The kind of system that keeps everyone where they're supposed to be. 😄
The container is divided into separate chambers, allowing multiple cultivars to be germinated simultaneously while remaining properly labeled and easy to track.
The seeds were placed inside using only plain water.
Nothing else.
No additives.
No nutrients.
No stimulants.
Just water.
Within approximately 24 hours healthy taproots had already emerged, and the seeds were ready to continue their journey.
Exactly what we hope to see from vigorous, healthy genetics.
---
## Why Only Water?
One question that frequently appears during germination is:
"Why not feed the seedlings immediately?"
The answer is simple.
The seed already contains everything required for the first stage of life.
Nature made sure of that long before we arrived.
Inside that shell are the energy reserves necessary to establish roots and begin development.
At this stage, I prefer allowing the seed to use those natural resources exactly as intended.
The objective is not to feed the plant.
The objective is simply to wake it up.
Water is enough.

## First Experience Using Coco Starter Plugs
This run also marks my first experience using coco starter plugs.
The plugs were fully hydrated and then gently squeezed to remove excess moisture while maintaining an ideal balance between water retention and oxygen availability.
Once germinated, the seeds were carefully inserted into the plugs and placed inside a humidity dome.
The dome remained useful for only a very short period.
Within less than 24 hours the seedlings had already emerged and were ready for the next step.
At that point, they were transplanted directly into small containers filled with Plagron Lightmix.
---
## Environmental Conditions
The environment during germination was intentionally kept simple and stable.
Temperatures remained around 26–27°C.
Humidity was maintained between approximately 65–70% using a Spider Farmer humidifier.
While many growers prefer keeping seedlings inside a dome for extended periods, I personally like allowing them to adapt relatively early to the conditions they will experience throughout their life cycle.
The objective is adaptation.
Not overprotection.
Airflow remains extremely gentle at this stage.
Just enough movement to keep the air fresh without creating unnecessary stress.
---
## Heat Mat Temperatures
The propagation mat was operating around 40°C.
While that number may sound high initially, the heating source itself must run above the target root-zone temperature in order to compensate for environmental losses.
The seedlings are not exposed directly to that temperature.
Instead, the mat provides the warmth necessary to maintain stable rooting conditions and encourage fast, healthy germination.
Consistency is the goal.
And seeds appreciate consistency.
---
## Lighting
Lighting during germination is intentionally soft.
Young seedlings simply do not require intense light levels.
The goal is healthy establishment rather than explosive growth.
Once these girls become properly established, they will move under the Future Of Grow Black Series 600W full-spectrum LED system where the next stage of development begins.
We'll start discussing PPFD, light intensity, and environmental management in more detail during the coming weeks.
For now, healthy beginnings remain the priority.
---
## First Observations
Everything has progressed exactly as hoped so far.
Fast germination.
Healthy taproots.
Strong emergence.
Healthy color.
Good vigor.
And perhaps most importantly:
A clean start.
At this stage every phenotype is still an unknown story waiting to unfold.
And honestly, that's part of the magic.
No matter how many grows we complete, every seed still carries a little mystery inside.
---
## Looking Ahead
Over the coming weeks we'll follow GodFather OG Pheno B through the first stages of development.
We'll explore:
- Root establishment
- Early growth
- Environmental management
- Watering strategies
- Light intensity
- Structural development
- And whatever unique characteristics this phenotype decides to reveal
Because every seed starts with potential.
The journey determines how that potential expresses itself.
This is only the first chapter.
And for GodFather OG Pheno B...
the family continues to grow. 🌱😄
Huge thanks to Zamnesia Seeds for the genetics, Plagron for the substrate and nutrition, Future Of Grow for the lighting, and everyone following along for another seed-to-harvest adventure.
Grower's Love everyone. 🌱💚
