So after further review I found that the Big Bang is an auto that REQUIRES a dark period throughout its flowering stage and doesn’t do well under 24 hours of light🤦‍♂️🏾She lost almost every leaf she had but her branches are still strong and she’s trying to survive. I’m not too worried about it, I can always give it another run. As far as the crystal candy I’m contemplating on cutting a single branch now while the terpenes are cloudy and then cutting the rest when Amber just to experience the difference in high first hand.

Hello and Welcome back 🌱 It‘s now 7 days ago since I put them in Water to Germinate and now it‘s their 5th day of growing. Yesterday, they got their first 4 hours of darkness and now i‘m slowly going down to 18/6 light schedule. I admit, the environment was sometimes very off due to experiments with VPD and leaf temperatur but I think I can dile it in correctly for this growing stage and beyond (hopefully). I was trying to see what happens if I stress them a little and hoped they would grow faster but they 100% didn‘t like it. They heat up pretty fast when the Air is too hot and dry because the roots are not developed and the plant is not established enough. An established plant can stay outside in the heat of the sun and still have cool leaves. So my environment for this stage is as above (27°C,70%RH). Light at 15000 Lux (≈370 ppfd) a little high but I‘ve noticed some stretching and I asumed they wanted more light and I really don’t want any more stretching. My media comes without nutriens so i feed little amounts of it every time they dry out enough. This is a Indica dominant strain so I asume they will stay fairly smal. Btw. If anybody wonders if CO2 bags work, check out the Video I uploaded. They are still seedlings (not really in Veg yet) and so i‘m treating them as such for the rest of the week. Root developement is now the top priority wich, if you didn‘t know, is better in a smal pot first because they are more likely to develope secondary roots but we’ll see. I heard It‘s like topping just underneath the plant. When they are ready to be transplanted I most likely will take the first three. Update: I did all the preperations for Transplant bc I was worried about root bound. I took Nr. 4 out and washed it as carefully as I could to expose the roots. Some of them got stuck on harder peaces of dirt and got ripped off. But it looks like alot of secondary roots developed instead of just one long taproot, wich is nice. I assume i can transplant them in the next few days. I rearanged the plants according to the Lux reading, wich is highest in the middle so the bigger plants (Nr.1 and Nr. 3) went to the sides. Maybe Nr.1 got the „smal“ genetics and it’s not anything environmental. thanks for following along this far and happy growing! Update: hey guys so yesterday I noticed, that the roots are coming out of the bottom. They were trying to get to the bottom of the three pots 😭 i had to do an emergency Transplant wich went very bad because they were stuck in the little pots. I don‘t think i‘m going to use these kind of pots anymore because they were not easy to get out. I even dropped Nr. 3 but luckily nothing bad happened. After the transplant both Nr. 1 and 2 were already ready to get more light. But Nr.3 was turning away from the light and the leaves were hanging down. So to lower the stress and encourage root groth I redusced the amount of light to a minimum and lowered the Temperature and highten the RH. This seemed to work well because the leaves were purking up again. The next day after 6-7 hours of darkness they are doing fine again but i‘m going to give them a little longer to establish themselves in the new pot. I changed the light schedule to 18/6 since I had to give them more darkness yesterday. I hope everything goes smothly from now on.

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. BB2 and GG2 seem to be about a week ahead of the other two. Those two showed the deficiencies. Seems to have quite a few bud sites. About the same watering and fertilizer routine as previous week.

Daily breakthrough of foliage and correction of sprouts in order to maintain symmetry of their growth. I create more comfortable conditions for a lagging sprout.

Seen some good progress over the last week. Have been tinkering with water cycles. Got it up to 3 x 15min cycles in a 24 hour period, but i think I'm going to go back to two 15min cycles in 24hrs because she seems to wilt a bit in the morning. I'm wondering if the cycle an hour before lights out is too much. I've reset the cycles to 15min an hour after lights on and again 8 hours later for 15 min. I'll see if that improves things. I'm also going to change the reservoir for a fresh batch of water, nutrients and ph balance today or tomorrow. I've also got a sister plant on the go, but she's about a week behind in growth as she germinated later. She's also doing well, but obviously smaller than her big sister.

This was Chop week for Chemdawg 1. Day 77 above ground and down she comes. Next up is the Northern Lights who probably has a week then flush and keep an eye on Trichomes. The Foxtailing Chemdawg won't be far behind she's a genetic mutant Foxtailing from her head to her toes. Should be pretty potent. Chemdawg 3 is flying since being topped but her and the strawberry pie are another story. Just thrown a Tangie Auto in too. Everything is doing good despite me not having ac at the moment! House has been staying at 85 degrees so the plants are happy at least. Plan on solving the ac issue by next week to start possibly flowering soon 🤞🤞. No health issues to report, just added another fx3 to the 3x3 to have 2 different phenos!

The sun has been away again this week and the heavy humidity has caused some error on the cola of one of the random autoflower plants, I tried to cut out and dispose of the bad bit but it got too the stem so I've cut it off completely. More mould showed up on her so I've cut her down. Hopefully the rest won't be affected!
