Update of the garden

Super Genetik mit einem Nachteil für mich. Leider ist sie zwar zum waschen gut geeignet, aber sieben (trocknen) lässt sie sich gar nicht. Es klebt einfach zusammen wie Knetmasse und in der gefriere wird es auch nicht hart, sondern bleibt weich. Sowas habe ich noch nie gesehen 🙈. Aber sie riecht sehr nach Orange 🍊 🤩. Update 1 Kleine Test Pressung mit 3g gemacht und ist ganz gut, aber noch nicht ganz trocken. Geschmacklich schmeckt es sehr nach Mandarinen 🍊 mit einem Rosin Return von 73% (2,2g). 🤩 Update 2 Es sind von 590g nass (23,2g Return) also knapp 4% Return im 45u-154u Sieb.

-Seeds were germinated directly in soil 2cm deep with 60ml of pH'd mineral water and covered with cling wrap for humidity. -Lights cycle: 18/6 - Seeds popped after 3-4 days, 100% germination -Cling wrap removed after germination -Day 1 of grow is 8/10/2020 -Day 1-4 seedlings were feed pH'd mineral water -Seedlings received their first nutrient feeding on day 5 -Nutrient water pH'd at 6.3 and oxygenated with air pump + air stone -Mycoroot was fed via top dressing Struggled to get the pH with in range, I had to mess around with pH up and down to get it in the range of 6.3. The growth looks good so far just a bit worried up about the colour of the leaves. Temp varied from 26C-28C and humidity ranged between 42-52%. I had to play around with the oscillating fan speeds and positioning as well as the amount of air inlet vents. I found that just having one opened helped get the humidity up and the temp had only a slight increase. I let the oscillating fan run on its lowest setting and put off its rotating function, I also made sure the fan was not directly hitting the plants which assisted with the humidity micro-climate. The distance of the HPS was at 90cm from top of plants after the popped out of the soil, this was readjusted to 60cm once true leaves were showing. They got the first nutrient feed on day 5.

📆 Week 9, 7-13 December 2023 7-13 December - Continued with simple adjustment of branches to receive maximum light. There was no defoliation of any leaf this week. Her growth rate has slowed and I believe she is heading in to the bulking stage. I’m satisfied with her size at this point. 8 December - Turned light power from 50% up to 75%, and raised lights from 18” to 21” from top of plant to facilitate the bulking phase of flowering. 📑 Let’s briefly discuss light and umol/m2/s or PPFD. First of all its all about numbers. Is there an agreeable starting point on these figures - the cannabis plant requires between 100-300 PPFD in seedling, 400-700 PPFD in vegetation, and 800-1000 PPFD in flower. It can go up to 1500 PPFD with certain C02 concentrations. I believe this may be generally accepted. Never being much of a numbers person, in ways I avoid it. I’ve grown indoor weed for a long time without a fancy device to tell me what this number was, the plant did that. A quality light and the plant itself will talk to each other in a matter of hours sometimes, days in others, I just need observe. But what I have come to realize the past few years is that these numbers, found in simple instruments (apps for smart phones) give us a very specific area of where she is within all these spectrums. It allows us more precision and insight to what would otherwise be a possible weak or vulnerable spot within our grow. I’ll use mine on a new strain, and to verify any questions. They are easily accessible tools for the common gardner. When we adjust our lights we can measure what will be optimal for our plant. Using my case in point; from: 50% power or 890 PPFD at 18” to: 75% power or 1080 PPFD at 21” **if not raised 3” - that number would have been 1320 PPFD - likely damage the plant - or raised any higher there would be no real benefit in what I’m attempting to achieve - likely waste of power** The 2023 ViperSpectra XS2000 lights (the ones I use) come with a new switch now that go from 25, 50, 75, 100% power and no option in between. So that kind of put a kink in a week or two during my grows I have to work around. Going from 50-75% power is a big shift in light intensity, and these lights are bright. Knowing what that number is and being able to adjust the height precisely to avoid damage is reassuring. I appreciate advancements that make growing a little easier. In most personal grows during flower I’ll go well over 1000 PPFD depending on the strain tolerance, without C02. Here are my experiences why: 1) my set-up allows it, 2) that number only reflects the greatest reading at the highest point on the plant - my reports, 3) when the plant is budding it is absorbing much more photons than when in the leafy only stage - everything is accelerated - this is a totally different discussion, 4) the additional light provided will proportionally increase a higher yield, and finally, 5) some of todays theories on light will change in 5 years, as it has from 10 years before, we still have a lot to research. LEDs are definately cream of the crop, but there is something new to learn I’m sure. Until then I can only tweak what I have in search for a tighter bud, higher in THC. I said I would briefly discuss this subject. Everything is possible with lights. It is science that says the cannabis plant does not have to produce secondary metabolites (trichomes and cannabinoids), in some cases it may not. It produces them based on its environment. She returns to you what you dedicate toward her. Day 32 - 12/01/20 Everythings going fine for the Pineapple Express 🍍 I swapped out the bungee cords holding my grow light for rope rachets today. it wasnt hanging level so i still needed to use the bungee cords but the light is much higher now to accommodate the height of this monster! current height is 46cm which is about 18 inches. Im feeding with my normal Canna and Vitalink schedule and watering with just phed water a lot too. they drink so much when in the proper temperature range and healthy! Nothing much to report other than that although i think im gonna invest in some more bud boosters and terpene boosters as im struggling to get a huge flavour from my buds. its noticable and its there after curing, each strain i have grown has its own unique flavour and smell but it just hasnt been potent enough for me yet. possibly due to my previous strain choices. anyways thats why im growing more fruity and higher thc strains. also for the medical benefit, the 1:1 THC/CBD weed was good as a supplemental medical weed i found that i still needed a high thc strain as a base to stay pain free and stoned. and the lower thc varieties ive tried are nice but just arent strong enough for a heavy smoker like me to relieve pain and help me sleep. One more week of veg and we will be flipping the lights to 12/12. The blueberry pie is starting to put out a nice smell. I've topped this plant along with a bunch of defoliation. The structure for this plant is perfect. I was thinking about putting up a trellis but I decided not to in the end. It would make it very difficult for me to get to the 2 back plants. I need more room in my basement! Haha we will flip next week and start increasing nutrient solution for flower. Can't wait to see the bud structure on these nts.
