We have made it to the end of Week 6. Conditions in the tent have improved DRAMATICALLY. The heat wave has finally passed and the temperature has finally leveled out. Not only that, the super weird monsoon weather that we were having has also passed and now the humidity is not rising above 60%. This turn for the best is really showing and also fixing the pH problem I had also probably helped a lot. Going to push the PPM a little more this week, between 750-850 The color of the buds is really coming through now, especially in the pineapple express and zkittles. The melonsicle seems to be growing much more like a traditional sativa. I feel it's about a week behind schedule with the rest of the plants. It seems to be on a true 9 or 10 week tract at this point. I think the blue gelato is going to be a bust in terms of yield. It just got heavily over shadowed by the other three plants from the beginning. It has stayed quite small and I am not sure it will yield heavily. Hopefully the smoke is quality and I will be impressed enough with my first Barney's Farm experience to try again.

The plants have continued to grow very fast this week, easily doubling in size again. I moved them closer to the light to 80 cm from 90cm. Watering as needed and I am keeping the soil surface moist with light watering twice a day. I fed some Biobizz Biogrow and some organic teas this week. Low stress training was very effective and the plant responded well except one which stated quite short. I will see if it bounces back or it may be stunted.

So this was my third tropicana, so far all different phenos, this was the biggest yielder of them

Both plants look healthy. I keep defoliating every day and they keep growing new leaves. They are extremely bushy plants. I have elevated their pots as they almost don’t stretch and they are a lot smaller than the rest of the tent now. A trailers net is added to level the canopies end of 1st flowering week.

Very good journey to me, she has responded very well to the lst training, providing me beautiful colas, enough for me to have nice clean organic nuggets to smoke. Die Hitze der letzten Wochen macht sich nun doch bemerkbar. Die Buds beginnen wieder zu foxtailen, und einige Blätter zeigen vertrocknete Spitzen und Ränder. Vermutlich liegt die Ursache bei mir, da ich die LED-Leistung früher an die Temperaturen hätte anpassen müssen. Wahrscheinlich konnte die Pflanze bei diesen Temperaturen und der Lichtleistung Wasser und Nährstoffe nicht mehr schnell genug transportieren. Die LED habe ich vorerst wieder auf 50 % reduziert und senke sie nächste Woche wahrscheinlich um weitere 10 %. Die Buds sehen dennoch gut aus, und einige ordentliche Kolben sind dabei. Jetzt gilt es, die Luftfeuchtigkeit im Blick zu behalten und für ausreichend Umluft zu sorgen. Beides liegt aktuell im grünen Bereich: Umluft ist ausreichend vorhanden, und die Luftfeuchtigkeit wird nur bei Regen kritisch. Für den Notfall steht ein Luftentfeuchter bereit. This was a very stressful week as there were too many variables at play all at once; even my camera refused to cooperate for the first few days. The freshly transferred plants were starting to droop and I was unsure if it was transplant shock, nutrient burn, or because of the incomplete grow tent. My first batch of nutrients were mixed into a gallon bottle and was weighed by a friend using his scale; this set was enough to last weeks. For this new batch however, I didn't have my scale and used the table spoon as my measuring tool; needless to say when my TDS meter finally arrived, both runoff and the remainder of the mixed nutrients read 2800. Fortunately my light setup seemed to be inefficient still and the plants weren't drawing much nutrients and only ended up with a very light burn on the older growth. All pots were flushed back to recommend levels and the light lowered until the lux values read appropriate. This week ends my daily comments and I'll stick to this end of the week format going forward.

Welcome to week six! 🌱 Week five was a complete success – all parameters are perfectly aligned. I’ve increased the water conductivity to a solid 3000 and bumped the CO2 level up to 1200 🌿. Light intensity is now set at 1400 µmol in the center and 1000 at the edges, which will keep the plants strong in their generative state 🌞. I’ll maintain these levels until the end of the third week and then start slowly removing the large fan leaves to ensure the buds get plenty of light 💡✨. I’m also trying something new to activate the “Emerson effect” 🌄: I’m running the deep red lights for 5 minutes before sunset and for another 5 minutes after the day ends. This should give the plants a final boost in photosynthesis, helping to maximize their growth potential! Everything’s looking fantastic so far! The Black Cherry has rooted well across different experimental setups, and at the end of the grow, I’ll provide a full report on the best care techniques for both strains 🌺👌. Willkommen in Woche sechs! 🌱 Die fünfte Woche lief perfekt – alle Parameter stimmen. Ich habe die Leitfähigkeit des Wassers auf satte 3000 erhöht und den CO2-Gehalt auf 1200 angehoben 🌿. Die Lichtstärke beträgt jetzt 1400 µmol in der Mitte und 1000 am Rand, was dafür sorgen wird, dass die Pflanzen stark im generativen Zustand bleiben 🌞. Ich werde diese Werte bis Ende der dritten Woche beibehalten und dann langsam damit beginnen, die großen Sonnensegel zu entfernen, damit die Blüten ordentlich Licht abkriegen 💡✨. Zusätzlich probiere ich etwas Neues aus, um den „Emerson-Effekt“ zu aktivieren 🌄: Ich lasse das tiefrote Licht 5 Minuten vor Sonnenuntergang und 5 Minuten nach dem Ende des Tages weiterlaufen. Das sollte der Photosynthese einen letzten Schub geben und das Wachstum der Pflanzen maximal fördern! Bis jetzt sieht alles fantastisch aus! Die Black Cherry ist in verschiedenen Versuchsreihen gut angewachsen, und am Ende des Grows werde ich einen ausführlichen Bericht darüber abgeben, wie sich die beiden Sorten am besten pflegen lassen 🌺👌.

Harvest week for the Milky Way F1 growmies 🙌 Pretty happy with how she handled this cycle, recycled soil first time ever, dead of winter, undersized light for a 100x100 tent… she just kept going 💪 In previous runs I did scaled harvests, and every time I noticed a visible resin boost and even some anthocyanin production on some phenos, confirmed that a sudden light intensity increase late in flower does something interesting. This time I went a different route: last 6-7 days I stripped most of the non-resinous fan leaves and redirected a lateral bar onto the mid/lower zone to get the same effect. Curious if mechanical stress from defoliation plays a role here too, anyone know anything about jasmonic acid? 🤔 Late flower I pushed the setup to ~200w adding 660nm red bars at 40-50cm, which clearly tightened up the buds compared to previous runs 👀 Pulled the CO2 bottles in flower, without a way to measure it I’d rather focus on VPD and fresh air circulation 🤷 Kept them in veg where humidity tolerance is higher anyway. Now she’s drying and I can’t wait to see how the wet/dry ratio lands 🌿​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
