Moved her to new 80x80 tent where she has a lot more space to spread. She's showing signs of potassium deficiency and they are accelerating. I increased her nutrients despite signs of burnt tips on the top leaves. I am confident it is not lock-out. She seems to be a guzzler.

A great week overall. Self watering pots are doing great. Keeping things moist without having to water all the time. Buds are really swelling up at this point and starting to change colors. Exciting but I don't think next week will be harvest as advertised. I think it'll be two to three more weeks. Lights at 100% power. Week 16 - 06/28 - 07/04 Light - 200 W HPS & 265 W LED Day Temperature - 78 F Night Temperature - 68 F Humidity - 40 +/-5 D59 Flower - Came home from vacation to some fat sugar coated buds! I flushed them with FloraKleen and molasses, this should be the last one before I snip down the main colas. Since they are close to harvest, I spent about an hour defoliating so harvest will go a little quicker. D60 Flower - Took the ladies out to breathe, take some pics, and snipped the tops off the Royal Gorilla's. I'm going to allow the Hulkberry's to mature a little longer and probably do the same thing and snip the tops. D61 Flower - Unfortunately HB #3 hermies on me, she had a bunch of "bananas". So I cut her down and hung her to dry, Sucks to lose her but she will do well in some RSO! Unmanicured wet weight was 251 g. I am also going to be testing out the bowl bud trimmer I just ordered on these buds to make sure they dont damage the buds too much.

Sep 7: what a great plant. Totally love how it’s going. Flowers keep getting fatter and heavier and she’ll be done before the end of September. Sep 8: there a tree root sticking up a bit in my yard which means the plant can be tilted toward the late afternoon sun. This is helpful because the sun is getting really low to the horizon already and we’re down to 13 h of daylight. Plus now direct sun is done in my yard by about 6 pm. Indirect light is okay but you really want direct sun at all times. Videos shows use of 730 nm far red light at dusk. Just a few seconds is all it takes to set the plant into dark mode two hours faster. It’s a bloom booster because you get two bonus hours of darkness or a 26 h day. Very effective but don’t miss a night and you have to adjust the timing each night. When starting this on July 20 Civil Twilight, as listed on timeanddate.com for my location, was at 9:45 and today it was at 8:40 pm. The red light at dusk is a highly recommended trick if you have daily access to your outdoor plants. Also works indoors, of course, and on autos too. Also I think it helps ‘stabilize’ the plant by emphatically putting it into dark mode, and therefore less susceptible to stray light to cause a hermie. Have not had hermie problems in four seasons of using the red light so that is my only ‘proof’ but it is true so far, even with taking flash pics before using the red light. Sep 9: getting heavier and now more branches are weighed down and slumping against the scrog net. Nice problem to have, I know, and without the scrog net some of the branches would be breaking off now. She’s now officially too big and too top heavy to keep moving around the yard in pursuit of direct sun. Sun is much lower to horizon now and direct sun hours are dropping too. Sep 10: getting close to done and getting very top heavy. Awesome. Sep 12: raining today. Has been cool last few nights and some purple colour is just starting to show. I don’t want to overdo fertilizer near the end, but I decided she is showing K deficiency. I’m out of malted barley but I still have potassium silicate, so I used that and some cal-mag. I’m avoiding kelp and molasses or using more P at this late stage because that can make the dried bud hard to burn and that really sucks. So, potassium silicate and cal-mag it is. The potassium silicate raises the pH and it takes about the same volume of vinegar to get the pH down. A good does of acetate is likely good for the bugs in the soil too. Then a squirt of Dr Bronners soap as a surfactant and that also supplies some biodegradable carbon for the bugs in the soil. Seems to work overall and is cheap. WW2 collapsed on itself and I didn’t notice for 2 days lmao... oops. All is well though I tied the buds up and added some support to help them stand. The other Northern Lights has been harvested and dried, and is just entering curing now after a week and a half. Even after just a few days of jar time it’s got an amazing scent and flavour. I think I dried WW#1 too much by burping too often and too much or something, smell is super light and bud is now pretty dry. However, it’s extremely smooth, has a good smell (just light). And it absolutely kicks my ass! WW#2 in the tent has nice looking buds considering how yellow and defoliated she is super impressed! The last NL has some funky buds going on compared to the last. Fox railing and such. Doesn’t bother me any but I’m wondering if it’s a sign of stress or genetics?

With a good Flushing out my little chunks are now ready for the chop. I think a combination of Anxious and Excitement begin to overtake, whilst all the time a nagging voice in the back of my head whispering 'are you sure its the right time'. This little voice i must admit has been a preoccupying factor and by far the most difficult decision so far. Despite this and the little voice screaming away i have decided that i am to stick by my guns and Harvest these Chunky delights as planned! Wish me luck the time is nigh.

The pound cake auto is really taking off. I’m happy I didn’t top the plant and just let it do its thing. It’s gonna have big long bugs all over the whole plant is just gonna be nugs. Not sure what I did with this plant but I got the roots perfect this time and it’s showing it the growth of the plant

Day 43: I pulled the LED to the most possible height and she keeps stretching, thus I had to bend the main branch with LST clips to keep some distance to the LED to avoid light stress. Day 44: Today was cleaning day of the reservoir and a new set of nutrients are applied. I'm quite curious how they support her. I also removed some foliage. Day 45: I noticed some tip burn at the leafs of the main bud. So I checked the PH in the reservoir and noticed, that it is off and adjusted it. I hope this supports her. Also, it might be a bit of light stress, as she is pretty close to the light (~ 25 cm). Nothing else to do today. Day 46: I refilled the reservoir today. As I noticed, that the PH was off the last time, I lower now the PH from 6.4 to 5.6. This should also support her to consume the nutrients, as I use 50% coco. Day 47: Nothing to do, today. Day 48: I removed some fan leafs. Day 49: Last day of the week. She is really thirsty now. I decided to lower the humidity to 65% to get a VPD of around 1 kPa. Cruise control for the OG Kush. Heading into the final weeks, so I'll be removing odd fan leaves here and there and giving her one last light top dressing. She's drinking water daily now and trichome production is finally ramping up.

GENERAL COMMENT. This week ran nicely for the two girls, of course one is going slower than the other. RQS STRESS KILLER AUTO. Super happy with the results so far, she grew nice size buds, in the surrounding and a big fat main cola, just beautiful. As we are entering the last week, of last tree days, I choose to lollipop and take do a pre harvest defoliation, the reasons for that is mould and rot, I started to become insecure because she didn’t have airflow and as i was flushing humidity started to raise, all good, and now just approaching harvest! Flushing with flawless finish and tap water.

8/14 been chopping them. i got a clone a couple months back and she had spider mites. luckily, these autos werent overly affected. i do think that may have been the cause of some of the airy buds.
