Week 2 - Godfather OG (Pheno A) 👑🌱
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another update from the 8×8 Adventure!
For anyone joining us for the first time, this project follows multiple Zamnesia cultivars grown side-by-side under a 12/12-from-seed schedule. Every phenotype receives its own dedicated diary so we can properly document individual development, compare genetic expressions, and follow each plant from seed to harvest.
Rather than grouping multiple plants into a single report, every phenotype gets its own diary. Even sister plants can display different characteristics, growth habits, and personalities, and documenting those differences is one of the most rewarding aspects of this project.
This entire run remains under a 12/12 light cycle from the very beginning. The goal is not maximum vegetative size but rather to explore genetic diversity, flowering behavior, structure, vigor, and phenotype variation throughout the complete life cycle.

Week 2 Overview
Week 2 has been another exciting chapter inside the 8×8 Adventure.
Across the room, plants continue transitioning from seedling development into active vegetative growth. Root systems are expanding, growth rates are accelerating, and the entire garden is responding positively to the gradual increase in nutrition.
Lighting intensity has now increased to approximately 370 µmol/m²/s across the canopy, providing additional energy while remaining perfectly suited for young plants.
Environmental conditions remained stable throughout the week:
• Light Schedule: 12/12
• Day Temperature: 27°C
• Night Temperature: 25°C
• Relative Humidity: 55%
• Solution Temperature: 20.1°C
• Substrate Temperature: 21°C
• CO₂: Ambient (~600 ppm)
Watering remained measured and deliberate.
Each plant received approximately:
• Day 8 – 250 ml
• Day 11 – 250 ml
Nutrition was gradually increased as plant response remained consistently positive.
Week-ending values:
• EC: 0.9 mS/cm
• pH: 6.0
Current feeding schedule:
• Terra Grow – 1.8 ml/L
• Pure Zym – 1 ml/L
• Power Roots – 1 ml/L
• Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L
The entire room continues displaying healthy color, strong vigor, and excellent development.
⸻
Godfather OG Pheno A
This week belongs to one of the most charming personalities in the entire room.
Godfather OG Pheno A continues growing beautifully and proving that perfection doesn’t always mean absolute symmetry.
One of the early leaves remains slightly smaller than its counterpart, a tiny quirk that immediately gives this plant character.
And honestly?
We love it.
Because despite that little asymmetry, everything else about this plant looks fantastic.
Healthy color.
Strong growth.
Excellent structure.
Beautiful leaf development.
And a steadily increasing growth rate as the root system continues expanding beneath the surface.
Sometimes those small imperfections are exactly what make a phenotype memorable.
⸻
Development Notes
Week 2 showed very healthy progression from start to finish.
The plant has continued building new growth consistently and now carries multiple layers of healthy foliage with excellent color throughout.
The newest growth appears vigorous and clean, while the overall structure remains balanced and attractive.
Five-finger leaves have now firmly entered the scene, marking another important milestone in development.
Every new set of leaves looks stronger than the one before.
The response to increased nutrition has been excellent, and there are no signs that the plant is struggling with the gradual increase in feeding levels.
In fact, she seems to be enjoying every bit of it.
⸻
A Little Bit Funky, A Whole Lot Beautiful
One thing I particularly enjoy about this phenotype is that she already has her own personality.
That slightly smaller leaf could easily be viewed as a flaw.
I don’t see it that way at all.
To me, it’s one of those little details that makes a plant instantly recognizable when walking through the room.
Nature rarely produces identical copies.
And that’s exactly what makes growing from seed so interesting.
Godfather OG Pheno A may have started with a small quirk, but she has transformed that quirk into part of her identity.
The rest of the plant is developing so beautifully that the slight asymmetry simply becomes another chapter in her story.
⸻
Structure and Growth
The overall architecture is becoming increasingly attractive.
The plant is stacking nodes efficiently while maintaining healthy spacing between growth points.
Leaf size continues increasing week after week, creating a fuller appearance and allowing the plant to capture more light with every passing day.
The rich green coloration seen throughout the canopy suggests the roots are happy, the environment is stable, and nutrient uptake is progressing exactly as hoped.
At this stage, there is very little to criticize.
The plant simply looks healthy.
And healthy plants are happy plants.
⸻
Room Life
The room continues running smoothly as environmental conditions remain stable and consistent.
The humidifier continues helping maintain ideal humidity levels for young plants, while airflow and environmental control remain carefully managed throughout the space.
The gradual increase in nutrient strength has been well received by the entire room, and growth rates continue trending upward.
As always, Mr. Baggy remains fully committed to his professional responsibilities.
Current duties include:
• Plant supervision
• Environmental inspection
• Photography assistance
• Quality control management
• Looking adorable while providing minimal actual labor
Performance reviews remain ongoing.
⸻
Looking Ahead
If current trends continue, next week should bring:
• Faster vegetative growth
• Larger five-finger leaf development
• Additional node production
• Increased stem thickness
• More obvious phenotype characteristics
• Continued canopy expansion
I’m especially curious to see how the plant develops over the coming weeks and whether that small asymmetrical leaf remains one of her defining traits or simply becomes an early-life footnote.
Either way, she is building an excellent foundation for the weeks ahead.
⸻
Final Thoughts
Week 2 has been another successful week for Godfather OG Pheno A.
Healthy growth.
Excellent color.
Strong vigor.
Beautiful structure.
And just enough personality to make her stand out from the crowd.
The slightly smaller leaf that first caught our attention is still there, but instead of being a weakness, it has become part of what makes this phenotype unique.
Sometimes perfection isn’t about being identical.
Sometimes perfection is about growing beautifully despite a few quirks.
And this plant is doing exactly that.
A huge thank you to everyone following along, supporting the project, sharing knowledge, and joining the journey.
Special thanks to Zamnesia, Plagron, Future of Grow, and all the partners helping make this adventure possible.
And most importantly, thank you to the community. Your encouragement, ideas, discussions, and enthusiasm continue to make these diaries worthwhile.
Thank you for stopping by, and I’ll see you all next week for another update from the 8×8 Adventure.
