Smell is starting to come down from the fresh cut, definitely has a great look to the bud as the cure goes on, have two 8 gram boveda packs in there after a few days with one that was WAY too big for it ๐
Brought down my Chocolate Mint OG in my other diary right now as well, way more weight to that last plant... probably more than both these Chem Bombs combined, great genetics over @Humboldt_seed_organization ๐

Giving them my first bud wash tomorrow! Already juiced the lemon, have the spring water, and off-brand baking soda because COVID has every place sold out of Arm&Hammer ๐
Dale: 50 Grams Wet Buds/Stem

Looks like I'm getting in and around the "1 Ounce per Auto Plant" range with my basic soil/hand feed system. The CMOG from my other diary looks like it will be my first 1OZ plant when it dries.
With my past experience of wet buds drying out to about half of bud weight, I'm hoping that they both come in JUST under an Oz a piece.
Going to update with more pictures, going to take a couple days to dry and get a good weight and hopefully get somewhere close to the 64 grams of the ONLY sized Boveda packs I have right now ๐

UPDATE - Dec 20 2020 - Cure Day
๐ต๐ญ i once again got my hopes up by pulling the classic male "over-exaggerating" and all the wet weight came from the main stems. After 3 days or so of drying both plants together came in just under an ounce. The smell is great and I have no doubt it's quality bud but I need to up my density game somehow for sure. New nutrients or better set up, still very low-end with all my equipment as I've just slowly been finding affordable pieces to add as I go. Maybe more light? Feel free to hit me up below with ideas short of switching to a Hydro set up ๐น I can hardly afford my bags of soil so I definitely couldnt keep up with the financial costs of a Hydro set up yet ๐
Have had a few bowls of the dried/uncured bud and it's very nice, clean, and crazy good for being uncured at this point. Just the classic flower taste from the chlorophyll but the pineapple/tropical taste is coming through nice already.

It was finally time to harvest her, what good times we had with her. Amazed with how beautiful this plant is, how easy to manage and train and how rewarding Orange Hill Special is.
So we said our thanks and goodbye, thanked her for all the joy she gave while growing her. I realize more and more how I love growing them even more than the end-product.
It takes my mind of all going on for a while, in my miniature jungle world in the attic.
Im sure all of you just sometimes sit there and watch them, in wonder, dreaming away with a good buzz on, watching them wave in the wind of the fans.
So with a heavy hart I apologize, play them their last music, sit with them and feel them and smell them, watch the glistening of the cristals.
In the end we had 209 gram dried Orange Hill Special, I will know the total of the grow, in a few days, since the final big whopper still has to dry: my XtraKush, be sure to check the harvest of that one *in couple of days) and see a one-dollar seed outperform two 10 dollar seeds.
I probably go over 500 grams for the total grow, which would be 1.6 grams per watt. Big success!

2017-09-11. Kl 12.00. Week 4 starts. I have cleaned the whole room for the new week and gave the girls water and nutes. Added videos and pics. Girl is 21 cm high.

13.09.25 VW21 Both are looking good and are developing tighter nodes than when they were outside, I'm going to have to keep cutting them back every once and a while I also applied nematodes against thrips and fungus gnats.
20.09.25 VW22 some spots and some yellow leafs, I think it's a root problem, probably root bound, but both seem healthy and are getting thicker so maybe just top up with Coco coir and give a slight different nutrient schedule less Tri Part Bloom could do the trick MAYBE lol.
27.09.25 VW23 Topped up the pots with extra coco coir and trimmed the side roots a bit, both plants were root bound ๐น
03.10.25 VW23 did a HST/LST session ๐น
12.10.25 VW25 Done a major HST session to try and keep them in line with the Sunset Sherbet GF I have going in the same tent, rest in the video ๐น

I will be getting 1000 phyto mites to kill the spider mites in my tent & in the meanwhile i chaugt about 50 ladybugs & put them on my plants, i hope they both do the job right haha

Have had some challenges this week. In my lack of experience, I have struggle to discern whether my plant is deficient in nutrients, suffering lockout or approaching harvest.
Symptoms were yellowing leaves... The cause of which can be, of course, many different things.
I decided to flush last week, thinking that a nutrient lockout was most likely.
Leaves less yellow this week so think it may have done the trick.
I have spent some time researching and considering flushing as a technique to improve final bud quality.
I have decided that there simply isn't enough evidence to deny my girl of nutrients at a critical phase of her growth.
I am therefore continuing a reduced feeding schedule of
- 1mls topmax
- 2mls BioBloom
- 1 scoop biosys ecothrive
- 2.5mls Cannazym.
And, unless indicated otherwise, will continue with this schedule up until harvest.
Today I have tested PPM of the run off and measure it to be approx 1050ppm.
I will measure again in 24 hours to monitor change after a feed.
Purchased a 60x microscope and am able to see that 90% of trichomes are still clear.
I am therefore anticipating at least another couple of weeks before harvest.
Buds look fluffier than I'd like, but resin and trichome production haven't disappointed.
I'm hoping that over the next few weeks the buds will continue to fatten.
19/11/2021 - Day 79.
Have a few days off so have managed to catch some photos in day light.
Have also uploaded a video.
Feel that she isn't particularly happy... But on the other hand, she is showing the resistance and ability to adapt to less than ideal growing conditions; as promised by the strain genetics.
Plenty of trichs, plenty of resin, plenty of buds.
Just need them to fatten and fill out for maximum yield and quality.
23/11/21 - Day 83 - Still some deficiencies but she doesn't seem to be using much water so reluctant to feed at risk of overwatering.
Noticing lots of new pistil formation.
Looking frosty, but all trichomes still clear.
Temperatures dropping to around 2ยฐc overnight here. Managing to maintain temperatures around 10ยฐc in the shed.
Appreciate that this is too cold for growth but she seems to be coping with it well.
I think that a gradual reduction in temperature has been tolerated better than fluctuant or sudden drops would be.
Fingers crossed that her hardy nature keeps her strong.

29/11/21 - Day 90 - no sign of any amber yet. Still mostly clear with a splattering of cloudy.

Everything must go!!! Day 66 canโt imagine the cheese, the gift, and straw to last much longer. Trellis was removed and you can really tell how heavy some colas are damn near uproots some of plants without the support. I needed to save my trellis ;). Anyways Skittlez in dark period ready to be chopped, tropical fuel is on day 3 of drying and looks to be retaining that โfuelโ smell ( no woody buds here!) made some awesome canna butter from the trim of white widow. Happy growing!

Today is 11/17/18. This is the final day before the SWITCH to 12/12 lighting schedule. I watered with nutes of 832 ppm, ph. 6.1, temp 78. I pray I have 4 females, if not, at least 2 of the 4. Today is 11/18/18 and WOW, when i opened the tent when the lights came on, my plants had grown an entire inch over that 12 hour darkness period. I wish I had been told to leave them in the dark for 1-3 days then do the 12/12 but oh well still a great 1st time learning experience to see all this step-by-step. Today 11/23/18,watered with cal-mag only. 11/25/18, Bagseed #1 is a male, he has went to cannabis heaven, R.I.P.

So this week has been hot for these girls but they didnโt mind too much. Really need to get some new equipment but will take a long time. We all make do with what we got amiright hahaha.
This upcoming week will be interesting to see how the girls are and grow. Canโt wait to show you all.

Harvest is imminent! I'm basically just waiting for her to drink her last watering. So 1-3 days I guess - my last few "finished" plants basically stopped drinking much at the end, and she seems to be the same. But my last post was about a week ago so one more flowering week report!
A few days ago I took off some of the brittle taco-ified fan leafs. My guess is they don't do much for photosynthesis anymore and just prevent lower growth from getting light. Upper leafs by now have turned a pretty violet/plum color! I put a leaf from another plant in the picture for comparison.๐
Structurally there is little change since last week. Smell is still incredible too!
She is significantly more heavy and the stems seem to be losing the battle against gravity but as she's coming down in a few I'm not gonna go wild with jojos or garden wire.

This one is going to be weirdly exciting like all growsโฆ but nothing beats growing strain you know nothing about down to to itโs ID. This is why this diary is dubbed Unknown Strain, and a lot more journals will be dubbed unknown strain.

Unknown Strain #1 - these strains are seeds Iโve collected and forgot to catalogue
Unknown Strain (dealer/grow name #1) - I have it this way,to indicate where or from whom did I get the seed, but failed to get the accurate information regarding the strain. Alike this particular diary. I received seeds from my friend saplug16.20_exotic_genetics. Check out his work on instagram, his my mentor in growing. But I go overboard when it comes to growing.
Ever since Iโve seen YouTube videos of growers growing weed plants like bonsais, I started growing my plants like I am growing actual bonsais, LST them in shapes and size while using defoliation and topping to achieve aesthetics. This type of growing is not focused on yield more for the hobbyist who grows for themselves and close friends. But I want to see if I can get more yield with this type of growing bud.
