D71. Week five of flower and the girls are simply doing their thing. I scouted the plants today and found thrips on the second girl. I was hoping the lacewings would have gotten them all by now, but no such luck. I'll give them a week before ordering another batch. For some reason, the thrips avoid the first girl. Visually, there's also a clear difference between the two girls, with the first girl being darker and having more buds. ------------------------------ D73. I brewed a short (6 hours) compost tea today consisting of worm castings, kelp meal, neem meal, humic and fulvic acid, rock dust, biochar, and molasses. After the brew, I added homemade Bokashi juice, which lowered the pH of the tea to 6.6. Each girl got 2.5 liters of tea (5% of pot volume.) I also did another light round of defoliation, down low on the plants. ------------------------------ D75. Each girl got 2.5 liters of water @ pH 6.5, with 5 ml of FFJ. The plants stretched SO MUCH after flipping them into flower that it's challenging for the light to penetrate the canopy, and it's pretty dark further down. I bought some LED grow light strips and installed them in the tent to provide additional side lighting. It's only 36 W of extra lighting, but I hope it will help to develop the numerous buds down low. I put the lights on the left side of the tent, around the first girl, since she has a lot more buds, but now that it looks like the concept works, I might get another set of lights for the right side of the tent. ------------------------------ D77. We've reached the end of the fifth week of flower, and all is well in the tent. Ahem, almost all since I still have the thrips to contend with, BUT I just put a bunch of Cucumeris predatory mites in the tent, so the war rages on. A friend suggested adding white cloth below the plants to reflect more light toward the lower buds. Sounds plausible, but I didn't have any fabric, so I went all ghetto by simply putting strips of kitchen paper on top of the scrog net. Not the most fantastic reflector material ever, but it's what I had at hand. Plus, it's easy to work with and costs next to nothing. I doubt it will make a big difference, but even a slight increase is still an increase, and I could see a visible difference in the amount of light hitting the lower canopy. Finally, each plant got 2.5 liters of water @ pH 6.3, with FFJ and Bokashi Juice. ------------------------------

Ordered a scale the other day so should have some more numbers tomorrow! Not going to sample anything until I get the scale, then I'll update with some more details.

Week Nutrients The plant did not need any nutrition and water in those days. Last watering done on the 16th and next on the 23rd. The broken branch recovers well and with a light resin forming on the buds. PPFD avg 680 Avg temp 24ºC Avg RH - 55%

Golden Grow Power Cloner cleaned and ready to roll. Tips to be harvested from Momma have been misted twice over the past 10 days. I’ll take cuttings tomorrow morning at lights on and update further. This is the first time I have run the Cloner in this little propagation tent. Typically, I see roots forming within 7 days and they need to be moved to the DWC cabinet by Day 14.

Pruned it. Needs more frequent water but looks green and healthy. Smells like coriander not diesel or yucky yet heheh.

This week, I gave my plants more fertilizer to test if they show any signs of burning. Now, I'm stressed out! I think I should give myself some seaweed to relieve the stress 😂 The girls show signs of calcium deficiency. I sprayed a small amount of calcium and magnesium on them to help them recover faster. I’m not sure why the new leaves are very pale. Could they be lacking iron? I think the high soil moisture might be causing issues with iron absorption, but I’m not completely sure. I’ll wait and see what happens this week. Considering that I use regular water, I expected them not to have a calcium deficiency.

I still get surprised each time I grow autos - they flower so quickly! And I grew fast flowerers just before. We´ve had a few bad leaves at the bottom. I don´t know if I screwed up a nute mix or if it´s something else. It seems to be getting better though. Now she is looking beautiful and she is forming nice flowers.

day 44 - The growth process continues unabated. I am waiting for the desired size. 8 days after flowering it didn't grow as much as I thought it would, so we went back to the growing season. 👽 day 49 - I decided not to cut the leaves anymore after much defoliation. It easily tolerates strong stress easy to grow.

Man, it's been a crazy week. These past few days have been brutal – seriously cold with this crazy humidity. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the chills and the way my skin feels all sticky. It's been a struggle, but I'm finally getting on top of things. I think I've figured out a good routine to dry things out around here, so hopefully, I'll be feeling a lot more comfortable soon.

OVERALL: ~ Very happy with the grow, I really dialled everything in well this run. ~ She grew super fast, I put it down to the constant oxygenation of the rootzone along with consistent and constantly optimized light DLI and leaf to air temp variance. The extra Co2 helped push the plant to its limit in terms of heat, allowing it to push its hardest. ~ The lack of HST and Defoliation I feel let it finish faster due to lack of stress and stunting. The faster finishing time along with the big yield and efficient MarsHydro light, it hugely reduced my electricity costs per gram and freed up space much sooner for the next plant. ~ Turned into a very dense bush of buds, there is even smokable dense buds at the base of the plant due to the under canopy lighting (Not as dense as top canopy buds but still decent) ~ Ran a thin line between stressing the plant and letting it flourish. The buds came out big and very dense, also it's hard to see on camera but they're very frosty too (Prob from UVB) YIELD: ~ 145g (dry) in just 9 weeks from seed. ~ 753g (Wet) ~ 0.91g/watt GENETICS: ~ MSNL - Gorilla Glue Auto ~ my favorite strain, as you can tell by my username! STRAIN REVIEW: ~ Heavy hitter, like an indica but has some of that "feel it in your face" sensation of a strong sativa. Not as heavy or as strong as other GG#4's I have smoked, which would make me question the genetics used to produce the auto version. I will wait till after a cure and judge it again. TRAINING: ~ No defoliation or HST (Bar last week for pics) ~ A little LST and leaf tucking but largely just left the plant alone to do its thing. I felt chopping healthy parts off the plant would slow the plant down and leave it with less chlorophyll to photosynthesize the light. ~ I did prune by lightly plucking dead leaves away, when the plant was ready to let them go easily. DRYING ~ 20/21'C 50% RH with air circulation. ~ Homemade Drybox made using: 2 x Bankers Boxes ~ 2 x USB Desk Fans ~ 1 x Carbon Filter ~ 6 x Clothes Hangers UPDATE: Day 5 after Harvest: ~ Fast dried some small batches, as we couldn't wait to sample. ~ Chopped off branches as some are down to 12% moisture whilst bigger buds are up at 18%. Moving to paper bag for couple of days to even moisture out then transferring to jars CURING: ~Curing in jars 3/4 full. ~ Dark closet/18'C/50% RH ~ Jars burped once Hygro passes 65% and sealed when it drops to 58%. ~ Stabilised it at 62% and after 2 weeks I'll drop it some more and stabilise it at 58% to bring out more of the flavour. ~Sitting in jars with Boveda 62% at this stage. ~ Already tastes and feels great. Small update, starting week 4, 22 days. Tying down and training a lot. I've learned so much, I'm excited more for my next grow than this harvest. In the past week no major changes, Gelato finally start budding, it was last. Drinking around 7-10 litres a day now. Mainly just filling res and training/pruning here and there. Sooo bushy especially Gelato. Around the halfway mark after this week so hoping everything stays as is. Temperature here has dropped out side now about 5°C on avg, so leaving tent temps right down 16-17°C at coldest lights off point. Needed an hours heat to boost at lights on some days to push to 21°C after that the lights will bring to 24-27 and maintain. Humidity in the tent jumps but the air is a consistent 45-50% so not worried at this stage if seeing readings high. I'll be moving dehumidifier inside the tent towards the end. Plants are growing fast. In this phase they drink about 3 liters a day each.

Jetzt geht’s rund! Bin mal gespannt wie die jetzt abliefern. Hab ne kleine Defoliation gemacht. Gelollipoppt wurde diesmal nichts, weil ich n canopy diameter von 30-40cm hab und das alles im Bereich ist wo das Licht stark genug hinkommt. Sie sehen jetzt auch wieder top top gesund aus und beten zum Licht. Die trichomen Produktion gefällt mir bis jetzt auch gut, da ziehen sie ordentlich an! Ende der Woche nehme ich falls nötig nochmal das ein oder andere überflüssige Blatt ab und dann lass ich sie in Ruhe.
