These two girls just continue to impress. They're both looking nice and healthy, great structure with nice wide even canopies, and no work along the way, not one bit of training! On the larger side for autoflower, only 6" shy of my largest. Oddly still no roots penetrating the pots, whereas the last run I did on the Tray2Grow the roots were exploding from the bottoms. Guess it's air pruning better? Who knows, but pretty happy looking plants for only a 3 gallon fabric pot. Dehumidifier is running in the lung room again due to the warmer outside temps our heat isn't running as much as it normally does, bringing up the indoor humidity to 48%. Soon as I turned it on the fans dropped from 90% to 50% speed, and humidity has locked in at 58% (VPD 1.0). Lights were turned down to 80% power and are giving 650-700 umol/s across the canopy.

I am continuing to water while she's in the dark with 0.5g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @67℉ to keep her hydrated. 9/12- Well she's out of the dark where she spent roughly 60 hours. I kept the temp's @ 64℉ and the RH at 45%. After I brought her out I shot a few pictures of her, then plucked off all of the shade leaves. I then cut her off at her base and hung her whole. I'll keep the RH in the room @ 50% for the first 24hrs., then raise it to 55-60% for the remainder of the drying. I have the temperatures in the Dry Room at a constant 65℉ to help preserve the terpenes. Hopefully she'll take 10-12 days to dry to the point that she's ready to be trimmed and jarred! Hey! At last the day of the harvest arrived. Before that, I stopped watering the plant 4 days ago, and turned off the lights 2 days ago. As for questionable techniques, I adhere to the principle - if it doesn’t get worse, why not try?😄 So, I put the harvested crop in a dark ventilated box, for about 10 days, I will observe. p.s. Seven days with this young Gorilla Cookies and she's hit the light running! Spending 36hrs in water, 36hrs in a paper towel, then 48hrs under the soil before popping her head up into the light. The light schedule I'm following is 20/4 under two 100w LEDs running around 80% at 650mm above the babies. They're receiving 150-200umol's at roughly 11-14 DLI. Organic medium and nutes so just watering in around 200mL of dechlorinated water at 6.6 pH per day. I figured I want to get this medium nice and moist for the microbes to thrive so I've been bottom watering 200mL extra every other day, with a gap day today as the pots are nice and weighty now. Welcome baby GC 🍪

Another great week, water every two days 2lt tap water. Microdosing of nutrient's basically just to feed the microbe's in the soil, the soil im using has slow release firtelizer for the first month's. They just strated to flower, doing good for now.

Well, as it's been 8 full weeks now it's time to change to flora, today the 24th of July 2023 I'm changing the time from vega to flora so they will take 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness thus starting the flowering phase, today I should have watered with top bloom from top crop but it ended up that I watered only with water and I'll wait for the next watering I'll already water with top bloom from top crop and let's see what these beautiful girls do, I was going to leave another time in vega another two weeks apparently i'm going to move so i don't know if i'm going to have much time left in this house so i'm going to take advantage of the time i have and already putting them to bloom

Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Week 1 and the first round of testing for this recent new cross. The F1 generation of Northern Spice. Germination was a full 100% with varying degrees of development across 3 days in the towel. Oddly however, about half of the beans cracked the shell head first with their cotelydons. Stability is always suspect with F1s anyway, but this kind of sampling, this early is concerning somewhat. We’ll see where it goes. On another topic, we also made some big changes to the grow method this cycle. We’ve moved over to a grow system by the bucket company. Fairly similar to the Dutch bucket design, just without the small reservoir in each bucket that acts as an additional insurance policy. So far, she’s purr’n like a kitten👌. Strain details She’s a mix of a particularly strong Northern Lights, mixed with a Spicy Bitch sativa hybrid. The hope is that we’ll be able to combine the overtly narcotic effects in the NL and mellow it out somewhat with the quality daytime sativa effects found in the SB. Both strains feature numerous grower qualities. Both parents possessed vigour and resiliency, the SB particularly colourful in late flower.

The Sensi Seeds Research breeding project has created eleven cannabis seed varieties. How? By combining new cannabis cultivars with a selection of strains from their long-established cannabis gene bank. For the first time in thirty-six years, they are opening the doors of the Sensi Seeds Research and Development Department. Week #1 All seeds have germinated in 48 hours after soaking in water. The germ has grown in wet cotton for 24 hours and has grown 1 cm long. All the seedlings popped out from the soil the 02/12/19 after 48 hours in the cups. Making the germination ratio at 100%. I was a bit worried to use the Mars-Hydro SP250 on seedlings, but at 75cm following manufacturer recommendations everything looks perfect. Environment is under control, light, humidity, temperature, and airflow. Seedlings are not going looney and stretching for the light . Using only pH’d water with some RootBooster at this stage to enhance roots development. (I’m looking for a job in the cannabis industry as Master Grower, Mineralogist, Quality Control)
