We’ve been experiencing a lot of busy days in our schedule so our posting and updates have been very scarce. We’ve kept up with our grow the entire time. We typically give our grow a gallon of water at 6.5 pH, typically room temperature, and because it’s our first grow we’re sort of allowing the plants to take their own course sort of. We only pull the yellowing fan leaves, and any debris to avoid contamination. Other than that, we typically water every other day, and add nutrients as explained on the back of the bottle (flora-gro/bloom/micro and Fox Farm Cal Mag+ when needed).

Purple punch is nuts, super frosty. Even some fan leaves are covered with tricomes. I believe I will flush it very soon, maybe in the next watering. Gorilla punch beautiful plant with some purple nugs. They are getting really fat Mimosa cake still getting more and more white pistils and I hopping the nugs get fat 🙏🏼

Not a heavy yielding lady. Which is not a surprise due to the cookie genetics. She is super frosty and stick. Her colors are constantly changing for the better. I pollinated her with “Purple Punch x Cuvee “ And will soon have my own Cookies strain........ Purple GasFace Cookies......

So apart from the really low yields.... Which I expected from 80% Indica dominant strains just not that low considering how dense the Budz were. But I can say my growing skills have been consistently improving and it is showing with each grow. With these ladies I should have definitely put them in a 12Litre pot or smaller and still would have gotten the same results if not better. So I lesson learnt for future grows..... To take into consideration the size pots I'm using on the strains I'm running! 👍🏾 But in all very great smoke, even more excited for the next rows that I have coming with the improvements I will be making. 👍🏾🌱💚 Another thing I will say is that I will be putting more effort into how I document my harvest for you guys.... More pictures, better videos showing off the Budz.... Week 5 of flower and seed production for all these plants has started in earnest. We cleaned up the tent somewhat and took down all the males after having done their job. Alls left is to wait for finish now. The nute deficiency appears to have corrected itself now that we’ve balanced out the ratios a little more. The WPM is no match for the sodium bicarbonate but still gonna have to keep on top of that to the end of the grow. Full fumigation of the grow spaces will be required - multi-day process I am not looking forward to. Time cleaning is time not growing, sadly. We’re coasting to the finish now but should still have some decent updates on our super secret seed harvesting method once they’ve fully matured😉👍. Hope everyone’s well and grow’n that straight 🔥. Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. In the event that does take place we’ve got a single clone of each strain from the previous pollen chuck to sit in the tent with them so they can make babies for the next few months. The whole point of the last year was to start making some foundational genetics for a third generational cross we could call our own. If you’ve been following along than you’ll know that it’s been anything but easy. Our previous pollen picks didn’t pan out at all so we’re back to the drawing board with a new option from ExoticSeeds. This’ll be a 10 plant run with 5 regs and 6 strains for pollination including the strain itself. We’re running in a 2x4 MarsHydro grow tent all powered by a Mars Sp6500. That’s a little more than 600w packed into half the recommended footprint😳. Why? you ask - because we like our buds big and overcompensatory😂. Really, I’m just of the mind that we can pack more light into this space than recommended and get much better results. The math doesn’t lie. At least not as long as I wasn’t high when using the calculator again….. Many thanks to @MarsHydroLED for the opportunity to test run the equipment👊. In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure. The beauty of this system is that it’s literally a 1 (one) component system for the entirety of the plants grow cycle. It really has changed the game in terms of ease of feeding and maintenance. It’s also very versatile and seems to provide everything needed across multiple different strains in the same ratios. Keep your eyes peeled for these folks. Pretty much a guarantee that they absolutely blow up once more people know about them👍👌😎. Strain Background Spicy Bitch: predominantly sativa, heavy yielder with a daytime kinda trip profile. It’s a cross of Queen Mother and a Pre-2000 AK47. We’ll pull what pollen we can and hope to have a female run out a larger supply of seed for the future. It’s a compact and squat plant requiring very little maintenance. Typical for the strain really. It’s been chosen as an option to potentially mellow out the high , shorten the stature of the resulting hybrid and inject it with some of that mellow indica effect. Boogie Nights - total shot in the dark. Still haven’t even tried the strain myself yet but it was available at the right time and interesting enough to make a salad with. Big thanks to AMS who’ve been nothing short of an excellent seedbank to collaborate with. Expect similar growth characteristics to that of the Northern Lights. Better resilience however. Blueberry - this particular clone is from extremely strong stock. Spliff seeds broke the mold with this strain. She’s lower maintenance than the NL, more resilient than anything else we’ve got on the menu and the terp. Profile on this girl is out of this world. If we can bring any of these qualities to the cross, then it could be magic👌. White Widow - garrghh, I just can’t get away from this particular plant. Again, still haven’t even tested the buds yet and all I can say is that the growth characteristics are extremely vigorous and desirable. This plant is one of 3 unicorns that I have yet to tame due to a combo of extremely bad luck and circumstance. All told, it’s still the same story: a VERY experimental breeding project designed to shotgun a broad swath of genetics against a reliable and dependable Breeder who’s put out proven fire 🔥🤟😎👍.

Ok, so it's slowly getting thicker and frostier. At week seven my girl could be ready in anywhere from two weeks to four weeks more. The light was dropped closer to the top of the canopy. I decided to try 15 cm of distance, as well four 50W LEDs are not as powerful as the 600W HID or LED panels that are usually used in grow tents. I will of course keep an eye for signs of light and heat stress, but I suspect that won't be a problem. Update Day 89. Today I decided to turn the plant around to see the back colas and their growth. Then I found some mites under the leaves after examining weird spots in a couple of leaves. It seems to me that there was not enough airflow to deter the mites from making home in the back leaves, when compared to the front leaves of my plant. Lesson learnt, rotate plant often, ensure good and even airflow. I didn't find any webs beside a really small one seen on the video (most affected leaf). So, I think I found them mites early. I only found this kind of damage on very few leaves, and each leave contained less than 8 mites (at least that I could see) and a couple of eggs. So it seems that paying close attention to my leaves saved me from an out of control infestation. Anyhow... I removed all of the leaves that had even a single mite, or a single mark of discoloration. Also, I disinfected the grow tent, top of soil and lower part of the branches by spraying them with a 1/4 tbsp of bleach per liter of water. After that was completely dry, I mixed one part rubbing alcohol with 9 parts water and misted both sides of the leaves and even the buds directly (ethanol evaporates easily, so there shouldn't be residues left after it dries completely). I got these remedies from https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/how-to-get-rid-of-spider-mites I will apply them every 3-4 days and keep a good eye on the leaves. Prevention is key, and some aspects I could've considered before are: 1. not grow any other plant next to my cannabis 2. Don't come into my indoor growtent after tending my outdoor plants. 3. Ensure even and plenty airflow. So, I attacked back strongly. I cut more leaves than those that showed damage, to increase airflow. I will be on the watch for pests and will rotate my plant often, as well as spraying a few times every week, just to make sure they don't come back. I also am going to build a kind of metal wire cage to separate the colas further and make it harder for any pest to spread. Its only my second grow, but from what I've read online about mites, it's way more costly (time and money) to deal with an infestation than to strike them hard early. I guess that specially now that I noticed them before they even made webs. Look closely at your girls growbros ! Update day 90. So this morning I. Becker the trichomes and they seem to have gotten more cloudy. I am not an expert at that, but they are starting to be fewer clear and more milky. I will keep an eye on them, but it think harvest might be here very soon, probably closer to the 9 week mark than to the 12 week one (I'm about to finish the 7th week)...

The purple is coming on strong in 2/5 of the plants! The other 3 are still pre flowering and may still change color.

This lady may just be the best looking plant I’ve ever grown by far. The smell is incredible, and so pungent it fills a room within minutes. It’s like pungent rotten grape scented cologne with notes of skunk and meat. The trichome coverage is unreal, I’m super excited to press some of this once it’s cured. Waiting for a few more amber trichs then chopping in about a week.

Aug 23: Mimosa Shot is doing fine. More sativa like than I expected bit she is starting to fill in and smells nice. She only has 8 colas because she didnt like the cool spring, but it’s hot here for at least the next 10 days so she will finish strong. Aug 26: just over 30 C today and upping water volume. Doing three waterings of about 3 L each, and spraying down grow bags when they’re in direct sun for too long. Aug 27: hot again reaching 32 C today.
