Blueberry Muffin – Pheno B | Week 3 The Beautiful Oddball Welcome back to another week of the 8×8 Adventure, where twelve cultivars are being documented individually under a 12/12-from-seed schedule. Every phenotype receives its own dedicated diary, allowing us to follow each plant’s journey independently and observe how unique expressions emerge even between sisters sharing the same genetics. This week brought one of the largest environmental adjustments of the entire project so far. The lighting intensity was increased significantly, moving from approximately 370 µmol/m²/s PPFD to 700 µmol/m²/s PPFD at canopy level. Alongside the increase in light, nutrient strength and water consumption also rose to support the accelerating growth rate. The response throughout the room has been overwhelmingly positive. Stable environmental conditions allow the genetics to tell their story without unnecessary interference. ⸻ Blueberry Muffin Pheno B While her sister has spent the last week showing near textbook development, Pheno B continues to be the plant that makes me stop, smile, and ask questions. Not because she is perfect. Because she isn’t. And that is exactly why I like her. From the beginning this phenotype has carried a slightly unusual appearance. Certain leaves developed differently, growth patterns occasionally looked a little unconventional, and she never quite followed the same path as her sister. Yet despite all those quirks, she continues moving forward. Week after week. Healthy. Steady. Determined. Looking at her now, it is clear that she is gradually growing out of many of those early abnormalities. New growth is arriving cleaner, stronger, and more structured than before. The center of the plant is becoming increasingly organized, with fresh leaves stacking tightly around the apical growth tip. She remains slightly smaller than Pheno A, but she is far from struggling. In fact, she appears to be finding her rhythm. The canopy has expanded noticeably during the week, internodal spacing remains compact, and the plant is beginning to develop a stronger framework that should support future growth. One of the most interesting observations is how the newer leaves continue to improve with every passing node. The plant seems to be correcting itself naturally, producing increasingly normal foliage as it matures. It’s almost as if she needed a little extra time to figure out who she wanted to become. And honestly, those are often the plants that end up teaching us the most. While Pheno A currently wins the beauty contest, Pheno B wins the curiosity contest. Every time I look at her, I want to see what she does next. ⸻ Measuring Light: Why We Use a Quantum Sensor One of the biggest changes this week involved increasing PPFD levels throughout the room, so this feels like a good opportunity to talk about one of the most useful tools available to modern growers. The Dr. Meter Quantum Sensor To monitor light levels, I use the Dr. Meter Quantum Sensor, a tool designed specifically to measure Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD). Rather than measuring brightness the way our eyes perceive it, a quantum sensor measures the photons that plants can actually use for photosynthesis. This is an important distinction. Plants don’t care how bright a light looks to us. They care about how many usable photons are reaching the leaf surface. A quantum sensor allows growers to measure exactly that. Instead of guessing whether a plant is receiving too little or too much light, we can collect real data and make informed decisions. Why PPFD Matters PPFD tells us how many photosynthetically active photons reach a square meter every second. Measured in: µmol/m²/s This information helps answer important questions: * Is the plant receiving enough light to maximize growth? * Is the light intensity limiting development? * Are we approaching levels that could cause stress? * Can nutrient levels be increased safely alongside higher light intensity? This week, measurements showed the plants were capable of handling significantly more light than they were receiving previously. That gave us confidence to increase intensity from approximately 370 PPFD to 700 PPFD, while simultaneously increasing nutrient strength. The plants responded immediately with stronger growth and improved vigor. This is one of the biggest advantages of using a quantum sensor. Instead of guessing. We measure. Then we adjust. And finally we observe how the plant responds. ⸻ Looking Ahead The coming week should reveal even more about Pheno B’s personality. Key areas of interest include: * Continued normalization of new growth * Branch development * Structural differences compared to Pheno A * Response to increased PPFD * Overall vigor and growth rate She may not be the largest plant in the room. She may not be the prettiest. But she is quickly becoming one of the most interesting. Man, it's been a crazy week. These past few days have been brutal – seriously cold with this crazy humidity. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the chills and the way my skin feels all sticky. It's been a struggle, but I'm finally getting on top of things. I think I've figured out a good routine to dry things out around here, so hopefully, I'll be feeling a lot more comfortable soon. My gas tax plant's looking absolutely incredible. The buds are gonna be huge, I can already tell. It's got this insane amount of crystals too, which is always a good sign. I love the shape of the leaves, they're so tiny. And guess what? I've got over a hundred seeds from that plant, so I'm definitely going to grow a bunch of them and see which ones turn out the best.

Hello everybody! This was the last week for this little Titan F1, yesterday the plant got harvested and now is hanging upside-down in darkness. Is hanging as a whole plant, I was afraid to wet trim it before as my humidity is not always in the best value ranges. So I preferred to be on the safe side and avoid super fast or excessively drying after a wet trim. I will have a little more work to do during DRY trimming but is ok, is just 1 little plant. In this last two weeks not much was going on. Just soil flushing and constant checking on trichomes every 2/3 days. This was the last week, the plant again got only plain water adjusted to the right pH, around 6.4. 2 liters of water every 2 days. For a total of 6 liters this week. Yesterday at day 85 the plant FINALLY got chopped down. A little late on the schedule, it took her around 10 days longer than RQS indicates. Overall from my observations it looked like the plant could go longer that's why I kept her till day 85. Also the trichomes were not ready yet (somewhere around 90%). Before harvest I actually checked the trichomes for the last time and FINALLY they were all nice and milky. Almost 0 lucid or transparent. I chopped her in the perfect moment I believe. In the last days I lowered a little bit the intensity of the light to 50%, I noticed that on the main cola the terpenes were evaporating. The light was too close and definitely too strong. This was due to my latest lightning upgrade. From 70 to 100 watt. I should have kept the old lighting on untill the end of her life even if was for just 1 week. Anyway the new light it gave her benefits, the plant definitely got more beefy with the new illumination. But also got some light burn and stress. But the most important thing is that the plant survived this journey and now is drying up. So the last two days before harvest the light was at 50%, in fact the plant recovered so well and the main cola started to smell again. Im sooo happy. There are some purple spots on buds 💜 from light stress and genetics of course. Regarding drying and curing the plan is: Drying in darkness for 7-10 days. Temp 17 celcius and around 51-53% humidity. Curing inside air sealed jars with Boveda humidity packs for about 1 or 2 months. I dunno if go for the 62% or the Boveda 58%. I think i will start with 62% and then decide if I like it or needs couple % less. Of course in one week after is dry I will do the first smoke test without curing it, im too excited and impatient, it was 3 months maaannn, time to smoke test it now. I will keep 1 or 2 grams and the rest will go in the jar for the final cure. Honestly I never look at the dry weight, is a bit too vague, full o little branches, leaves... Just not important for now. Week 9 - First Week of Flowering 🌸 The dark period has ended, and these ladies came back into the light fully energized and ready for action! It’s just the first week of flower, and they’re all praying, stretching, and absolutely thriving—filling up every inch of the tent. This grow space is officially packed from wall to wall, with each plant competing for its share of light and showing off some of the biggest, healthiest leaves I’ve seen yet! 🌱 A few strategic plucks here and there have kept airflow smooth and light penetration balanced. Those big leaves? They’re a sign of happy, healthy growth. Large leaves help the plant capture maximum light energy, essential during this stage, especially as they start focusing on developing those flowers. When plants grow huge, vibrant leaves like these, it means they’re well-nourished and content in their environment—a true testament to the well-balanced conditions we’ve got going in the tent! Flowering Parameters 🌡️ Room Environment: • Temperature: 26.7°C • Humidity: 63.3% • CO2: 960 ppm • VPD: 1.29 kPa (prime zone for flowering health!) Lighting: • Light Intensity: 835 PPFD (ideal for boosting flower growth) • Solution: pH 5.96, TDS 460 ppm, temp 21.1°C • Medium: Moisture: 100%, TDS: 520 ppm, Temp: 21.6°C Carbon Filter Installation & Smell Management 🌬️🌱 With the transition to flower, the scent profile is already starting to kick in—crazy for the first week, right? 🌸 To keep everything fresh and under wraps, I’ve set up a carbon filter system. Here’s how it’s working: I’ve connected the filter to my Aerofan, which pulls air directly from the tent. This air is cleaned by the filter and released into the main room, where it then passes through another filter before exiting my space. This dual-filter setup means no scent escapes into the wild, keeping things stealthy and the grow room a peaceful, scent-contained environment. Perfect for anyone concerned about keeping their home free from that telltale aroma! 🕶️🌬️ Enhanced Lighting with Emerson Effect 🌞 This week, I’ve introduced an extra 15 minutes of red light at the beginning and end of each light cycle. Why? Well, this red boost taps into the Emerson effect, enhancing photosynthesis efficiency, especially during the flowering stage. By stimulating a little extra wake-up and wind-down light, we’re mimicking the natural sunrise and sunset experience for these plants, which can help reduce flowering time. Not only does it encourage smoother transitions into day and night, but in theory, it’ll help these ladies finish a bit faster, while giving them a little nudge to build more substantial, quality flowers. 🌇 Nutrient Adjustments 🌱 Now that we’re in flower, I’ve swapped out the Start Booster for P-Boost and TopBooster to specifically support flowering needs. 10/14 12 am. Tent 3 tall and strong Tent 1 small and strong. Samples from all of them have been great. 2 pm did not water today. Yesterday I did 2 waterings several hours apart a new technique that works to keep the soil cool 10/15 12:30am Watered all with nutrients. 10/16 6am looking good 4.5 grams nutrient, 0.6ml Purpinator, 0.6ml Liquid KoolBloom this week. 1pm Dark Devil is beginning to show changing colors on her leaves. I didn't defoliate her because I wanted to see the color change. 2pm Colors are amazing I took the little Dark Devil and I have never smelled anything like this, so strong and clean almost like model paint or something. Drying in a cup now I'll check how she changes. So powerful from just a small bud. Straw. Gor. is also growing strong perfect colas now. Tyson NYC desil is strong now. The pistils are thick and yellowing LOTS of resin. 10/17 1am made a video. 11am watering. 10/18 12am water. 4:45am Mixed up MaxiBloom powder. It takes about 2 days for it to dissolve. 4.5 grams nutrient, 0.8ml Purpinator, 0.6ml Liquid KoolBloom 10/20💦💦💦

07-12 till 13-12 actually I did everything wrong this entire round. a bad start with much too late light. resulted in enormously stretched plants. almost impossible to save. after very deep repotting. they kept stretching. I still think too little light and too little water. now at the beginning of the third week of flowering they do not stop stretching .. a bizarre difference compared to the previous round.

I really enjoyed growing this strain. I hope I can get my hands on it again and take what I've learned and apply it. I didnt have any herm's or anything of the sort. I think Ethos really makes some great genetics. This stuff gets me really good. If i had prevented stretching's, and trained a little bit, I probably could have gotten a half pound out of here. Regardless 5.5 ounces is respectable for a 2nd grow if you ask me. Curing turned out very well. My whole place stinks when I burp these jars. Im OBSESSED with this Rosin. Best smelling and best tasting dabs I've ever had so far. Hope you all enjoyed this diary. I really loved sharing how this strain came out. I hope it comes out even better for all of you guys! Decided I couldn't wait one more week in which they probably would of benefited from. Cut the plants today and hung to dry. Cleaned the tent after photos were taken, will probably further update this diary later this week although i will not be taking wet weight. Update: Finally out of trim jail happily surprised with the outcome for first timing autoflowers. Plants yielded 70, 188, 170 and 143 grams.Pretty smooth for not being cured but definitely still think I could of done more with this strain without the hiccups and some better top dress/fert for flowering and if i stayed on top of the calmag from the get go. Ended up getting a new oscillating fan a day before I chopped them which seems to be working a charm.Will be looking to get a new extractor and a controller eventuallyy along with a trim bowl to prevent 3-4 days of solo trimming next time.Also need to get the ducting and extracted air out of my room and maybe a dedicated dehumidifier as my AC probably wont cut it during winter. For the tray2grow also will need a water pump for the reservoir to keep the nutes from settling at the bottom of the tank so probably just water next grow with hand fed nutes until thats sorted. Pots took 2-4 days to properly dry out once the irrigation was turned off. Will be cleaning up tomorrow and probably germinating another set of seeds hoping for an even better run Got some freebies from local grow shop of Genehtik seeds and got some Tyson 2.0's that my friend gave me a while back both indica dominants.

Es una cepa increíble el problema que le veo es su olor penetrante, apesta enserio es muy fuerte su olor, seguimos alimentándola con advanced nutrients quitamos todos los adictivos menos overdrive y la base sigue dando caña y si no mirar su color. Todo este proyecto e de agradecerlo a mars hydro que sin ellos no es posible este proyecto, enserio este led es bomba. Ph controlado , humedad por debajo de 50% temperatura entorno a 27 algo alta pero no hay problema alguno. These took off finally. Two very distinct differences here. 4 total. 2 look exactly the same. 2 runts looks exactly the same. Turned light up to 60% at about 3 feet. Overall, we are very pleased with the end result of this grow! For the harvesting process itself - once the trichomes on the buds were milky white (see zoomed in photo above), we cut down the branches and hung to dry in the tent. The light was on in the photo to display the hanging to dry method, but the lights were turned off for the duration of the drying process. On the first day the buds were hanging, all large fan leaves were trimmed. Over the course of the next week, day by day, more leaves were trimmed. After 8/9 days of drying, the buds were ready to move into the curing stage (the test for this: the skinny branches would snap when bent, and the thicker branches were near snapping when bent). On day 9, buds were cut from the branches, trimming off the final accessible leaves, without damaging the trichomes, and placed in glass jars with dehumidifier pouches to begin the curing process. For the first 7 days, the jars were opened (burped) for 10 minutes twice daily. After the first week, burping was reduced to once a day and then every few days. Strain first tested after 10 days of curing, but cured for a total of 4 for optimal results. Citrusy flavor, excellent sativa for mellow productivity and a mood boost. Now that I have my first grow under my belt, it's time to move onto the next!

Week has been good. I'm not sure about the ppm and salt around roots, they are a little brown. Wounder if I should flush them and start again with nutrient? And see some of the last picture, it's pretty thigth between the leaf and buds, should I but some of the leaf? Ppm 1400-1600 Temp 22 to 31 Temp in water 20-26 Humidity 50-60%
