Strawberry Cough is a popular and potent cannabis strain, whose history dates back to the early 2000s, where it is believed to have originated from a cross between Haze and Strawberry Fields. This strain is renowned for its delightful taste, which, as the name suggests, is reminiscent of fresh strawberries. The THC levels of Strawberry Cough typically range from 15% to 20%, making it a strong smoke for experienced users. Its effects are often described as uplifting and energizing, making it an excellent choice for daytime use. It can enhance creativity and focus, perfect for artistic endeavors or productive tasks. Medically, it is often used to manage stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Growing Strawberry Cough can be a rewarding experience for both novice and seasoned cultivators. It thrives in both indoor and outdoor environments, preferring warm and sunny climates. The plant tends to grow tall and lanky, with a flowering time of around 9 weeks. The buds are known for their vibrant red hairs and a thick coat of trichomes, hinting at its potency.

I am happy to have grown Dutch Passion’s Strawberry Cough again, this time as a clone. The strain comes as advertised - smells and tastes like strawberries. Nothing has knocked this off my list as one of the more fragrant and best tasting varieties. The individual grow was a tad disappointing in the end. One major detractor of the Strawberry Cough strain is that it produces a light yield, it has consistently given little product. Historically, I have settled with a smaller gram total, but this time it is a huge negative. My 7/10 rating is almost entirely yield. Heading into this experience I was thinking it may improve on its previous ratings.... wrong. Generally, it appeared to have went well during the grow. Overall, this generation stretched too much and got too tall and lanky. I see the benefits of a more squat plant. Cough did poorly in this state, I’m not sure if it was just the plant, the leaf distribution, or what, but the other plants/strains that stretched too much still produced massive crowns. I could criticize myself and say perhaps the food went away too quickly, but again I have other plants performing well with my feedings, as well as past Strawberry Plants. It was a bit veggie, stringy, not fun to harvest. I have high standards and any bleached, immature, or just puny flower was pitched. Either way, just not enough bud! Its a tease. The cannabis I did dry and cure is wonderful - sweet and berry like. Even without curing as long as last time it is still strong and enjoyable. One of the best tasting strains around. Effects are light to moderate sativa. Relaxing but not overly potent or trippy. I may take a break and explore some other fruity or fragrant types, but believe me I will be circling back. I may also keep Cough in the rotation. It is sooo good!

Came home after being away for a week, and she was ready! Seems pretty early (7 weeks of flower vs. recommended 9) but the trichomes are very amber....more than 30% I would say. The smell is absolutely incredible - so citrusy and delicious. The yield is pretty small, but I started flowering her around week 3-4, as I just wanted a little sampler before the end of the summer (I have another of this strain outdoors and she is huge). Can't wait to try it! Will update on the smoke in a week or two... **Smoke update - have now tried it (4 days of drying, 1 week of curing) and it is amazing. Just as described - energetic and clear and fun! Incredible smell, and great taste too. Love this strain.

Another go at Dutch Passion’s Strawberry Cough genetics. This was a monster crop given to me in the very early stages and it became a bushy beauty. No problems at any point - the plant was a breeze to grow and train. Growth was vigorous once it passed the clone stage. The plant took plenty of nutrients. If I was critical, the leaves yellowed in flower faster than I would want. Otherwise, no issues! The branches became long and packed with dense little nugs, probably a low to medium yield/bud size ... but that is an okay tradeoff mentioned later. The buds were still massive and dense enough that some crowns were horizontal and I had to tie the plant as a giant, resin filled bouquet. The buds are airy enough to dry effectively, and you can quickly enjoy the final product. The taste... is fantastic! Believe me, the smell and experience of Strawberry Cough is worth the trade for massive yields. It is intoxicating throughout growing but really peaks upon consumption. Taste can come through when vaping or smoking. It is an elite mixer weed (with other strains). Highly recommended, +1 to rating this time.
