This week started with last nights yeast & sugar formula which was given at 26°C. I regularly feed at daybreak ( cycle starts at 6am ) but my gut feeling urged a "right before dark" watering. The plants really seem to enjoy it, use this once every 2 weeks. My runoff Ph is at a staggering 9,2 ! I figured it will rise a little due to last treatment of yeast but wow, sounds a lot in comparison! It seems to be rising though at steady pace and the plants show me they are thriving. Eventually convinced myself and gently pressed a few buds between my fingers. Pffff. Hard. No stress.
Feeding wise, run out of pretty much everything and spot on. This will be the last fertilizing week for 2 of them , as they definitely are the 8 weeker pheno and for the remaining week of the other 4 will rely on my humble brews. I´m going for a Ph of 6 this week then 6,5 for the final period. No further physical stress will be applied, especially no defoliation. Will start lowering the lights at the end of the week , roughly 2 cm per day.
Now...the smell. Not too strong in the sense of "weedy" but overwhelming now and that sweet tang is increasing with each plain watering that I do (every third watering). Each of the 6 plants has a distinctive note (if one has the nose for it) , from fruit candy bar to cotton candy and one reminded me of some Greek homemade candied grapes ! Resin production has reached the fan leaves and I think I won´t further remove the last of the sucker buds as intended and use them all together for bubble hash. The trichomes on these ones are just outrageous in size.
#update Day 81 : I realized that my last statement concerning the ''not'' plucking of sucker buds would go against my initial thought of lollipopping 2 weeks before finish and synchronized with the last solid fertilization. So I did.
@Growpotkin, thank you ! Man I love your auto collection ! Very nice choices, will def follow your WW auto, since I plan as well to try my hand with an indoor auto run, and have some same strain freebies just lying around lol. All the best !
@Rock_n_Roll_Randy, I could never doubt it, it's my first time ever under LED. Either way, Mars Hydro is simply an amazing piece of lighting. Love the dimming option, easiest mounting ever and the light itself is clear , pleasant and plants respond very very well as soon as One gets a feel in playing with heights and intensity. Blew me away at first try.
#later edit : And I would say that is a compendium of things that gets them frosty, starting with Mother Nature, followed by Barney´s Crew, hillman and Mars Hydro. Wouldn´t You agree lol !?!
@youngatheart, thank you 🙏 ! Man, all the hard work pays off eventually, one way or another. I feel I'm getting close to a organic home made formula strong enough for an indoor. P.S. Your Kush'n'Cookies look amazing bro !
@Rock_n_Roll_Randy, yes they are good. I'm thinking of repurpose them exclusively for seed sprouting and vegetation state, as a prep before outside transplant. I mean things grow well and fast under them, of course with the right amount of care and the right lamp to plant distance.
@FarmingTown, Basically this particular brew plays the role of a grow+bud candy fertiliser. I fermented plant leaves like stinging nettle, dandelion, camomile, burdock, elderflower together with fruit parts or juice like dried figs and dates, orange and apple juice, carrot roots, alfalfa for Rhyzobium. All in certain amounts for good balance. It needs oxygenation, by hand or ideally by fish tank pump, as you are actually growing bacteria. Its PH is acidic, very good to bring down high PH waters. It can be used diluted 1L/10L up to 5L/10L without causing burns. Also makes an excellent foliar spray, diluted 1L/10L, to be used 30 min before sunrise, or an hour after sunset, if grown outdoors.
