It was a faster growth rate this week with most plants having 3 nodes except for the little girl that decided to throw an early mutation my way. This is probably the most anxious I've been for a grow, especially being the first reputable breeder that I've germinated.
The mutation called out in last week's update ended up being one plant throwing out two tops. The plants had a crazy week with new growth which was expected with their first week of feeding. I couldn't be happier with how the plants are growing. Extremely healthy and very tight node spacing.
All four plants were topped for the first time and then staked down with landscape fabric staples. The mutant of course was topped twice due to having two mains on one plant. Impressive growth rate so far and will most likely defoliate at some point this week.
A little bit of heat/light stress to combat with the temperatures starting to rise in my area. Other than that, it was a solid week and I am anxiously waiting to make the flip in a few weeks.
Heat/light stress are now under control after raising both lights up significantly and also putting a supplemental cooling unit in the grow room. These girls will have just less than three full weeks of veg before the light goes 12/12. These plants are some of the most resilient that I've grown and im excited to see the end result.
This will be the last week of veg before they go 12/12 at the end of this week. It has been a solid grow so far, the fans have been added to the tent to simulate some wind blowing, and the carbon filter will probably get hooked up right before the change in light cycle.
Hopefully the stretch will come to a close soon. Plants increased significantly in size and got a nice little haircut. I will most likely let them finish strongly with possibly one defoliation before the last month of flower.
Did a pretty heavy defoliation this week to expose the bottom of the plant to some light. Pretty close to lollipopping but not quite that extreme. The smell coming off of them is heavy with citrus notes, and the buds and sugar leaves are loaded with trichs so I cant wait to see the finished product.
This is the first time that I've had branches bending this early into flower. I've put one Scrog net up and have another one ordered that should be here tomorrow. Buds aren't crazy in size but they are starting to stack nicely on the colas and feel really dense. This might be one of the stickiest strains I have come across yet so I can't wait to cut, dry, trim, and cure.
The girls will be getting harvested about 9 days from now when the flush is complete. Viewing the trichs under a microscope i may be a few days to a week behind an ideal harvest, but I'm not against some couch lock weed. I'm very happy with how they turned out and the terpene profile is amazing. The only thing I wish was different, is the space in-between the bud sites on the colas.
These girls will be coming down just before the weekend so I will probably wait to do the harvest week entry after they are dried and trimmed to give everyone a finished weight. I appreciate everyone who has reached out over the course of the past four months and look forward to starting another diary journey once this one concludes.
I hope everyone who followed along enjoyed the journey as much as I did. It was a solid harvest and look forward to the next grow. Keeps your eyes peeled for the next one.
