This plant started as a freebie seed I received when i bought nutrients from a local hydro store, Its a little side project I started, I wanted to try topping, so I've had her veg in the corner of my tent alongside my first grow to experiment on. Once the plant reached her 4th node, I topped her at the second, the reason I topped it so low is because I have read that OG's love to stretch and i don't have unlimited vertical space. The actual strain is OG Kush by Kera seeds (at time of writing the website doesnt have that specific strain, so I selected the closest option available) this diary will only cover the flower stage, the plant vegged from the 4th of February untill the 15th of march, so juuuust shy of 40 days

40 days of vegging in a tiny corner of the tent, the time has come. there is finally some much needed room for her and the lights also got flipped to 12-12. the plant is ready for it and showing sex all over. used some plastic plant clips to move some of these huge fan leaves out of the way of budsites, I don't like cutting these off, not because I think that would hurt the plant or anything, I just find these massive leaves pretty... She's planted in Canna Terra professional, which is essentially lightly fertilised and Ph balanced Peat mosses and Perlite, I learned from my first run if you've seen that one, as you can see there isn't a single burned tip or light burn! so far, I'm sure there will be many mistakes in this run. (That last part was foreshadowing, I'm typing this near the end of week 2, shhh) I try to water and feed every day, I know a lot of people say cannabis doesn't need a lot of water, and that's true. But I'm not growing in true soil, In the simplest sense, the peat moss just holds onto the roots and water for this little girl, and what she needs comes in the form of minerals added to my water, I'm not growing organically so I don't care about keeping micro organisms alive, I just want to get this go-juice to the roots of my plant, best way to do that is to keep the peat moss saturated in the solution, without allowing it to dry up because then I would get salt build ups and potential pockets where the minerals build up, which could easily burn the plant. The pots I use are from gronest and I love them, they dont allow the water to spill out the sides whilst still allowing oxygen in, making drowning my plant literally impossible unless I submerged the thing in a dang bucket.

My little experimenting already bears fruits of knowledge, I've topped too close to the node without leaving a bit of stem, and whilst tying down the branch during LST, I had a gnarly stem split. However a cool head, some grafting tape and a day of healing and this rugged little plant picked herself right back off the floor and shot up inches overnight! More and more pistils are shooting out and this plant is stretching so much, as is typical of OG strains, my last autoflower is nearly done, after which I will put a trellis net in and this lady can have the entire place to herself!

Oops all Grow Techniques this week, the plant just keeps stretching, This is my first photo, I did not know a single plant would fill an entire 70x70 in a 15 liter pot. Scared I was going to run out of room I super cropped her and placed a trellis, she looks absolutely mangled at the start of this week, Im curious to see her react to this since nothing else has stunted growth thus far... some more lessons learned from this: if Im going to top, i should keep topping, i could've done better and had more top sites plus saved vertical space and that 1 photoperiod plant in a 15l pot = enough to fill a 2 by 2

Oh my, I think I'm in love. What started as a free seed and side project, I was sure I was going to end up killing, has turned into a beautiful plant! I'm loving the Plagron nutrient line now I have half a clue what I'm doing and not burning my babies, my first grow had airy buds, likely due to too much Nitrogen during flower, I'm looking to avoid that this time around. speaking of nutrients, we're at week 4 of flower and theres dozens of dense little flowers, so we are starting with the 4 in 1 finisher Green Sensation and completely stopping the root enhancer and Enzymes. Very happy with her at the start of this week, I'm surprised there is already trichomes visible, I'm so excited to see what her flowers end up looking like. her smell is faint but it is so good. Honestly I hadn't heard of this breeder, but they got my attention with this free seed haha, I have another freebie from them which now made it higher up my list, but my next run will be Z&Z by Exotic seeds, which they were nice enough to send me and I will do full justice with the lessons learned this grow.

The nutrient dose has increased for a penultimate time. There are still no burned tips or signs of deficiencies. I wish i had taken a clone, It would've been interesting to see what this baby would've done with a few more weeks in veg and some more topping. Nothing has phased her so far, a really hardy plant. I'm super impressed with the trichome development, even the stems of fan leaves are sticky. I have been watering 2.5 Liters a day, because that's how much it takes to get run off, I am wondering if I can tune that back to 1.5 Liters a day, I won't have run off, but it should still be enough to get the rootzone pretty wet. the only thing I am worried about is salt build up, since I won't dislodge it from the roots with run off, as it were

I Had this on my previous plants, I'm starting to think it is light related as it seems to happen to the leaves closest to my mars hydro. I wonder what would be the best course of action here? Ive added a tiny dose of calmag, can I supercrop this late into flower?

Potassium defiency or light burn, they both look similar. If you feel your pH is correct and they are getting enough potassium in your flower nutes. Then it is most likely from the light. Raise it up a couple of inches if you have the room.

Near the end of week 5 brown spots appeared on some of the upper leaves, I suspect it to be light stress, as it stopped progressing when adjusting the intensity of the light. to be safe I also added a prevention dose of calmag, as my water is very low EC. She's really starting to fatten up and smell now, I can no longer have my tent open during the day.

The buds are growing bigger still and the tent is really starting to smell, the stems have turned red from being close to the grow lights and my center buds have foxtailed, i now know for future runs to stay more on top of training so the plant cant grow as tall. pistils are starting to turn, If i had to guess I would say 11 weeks seems like an accurate flowering time I have also let them get dry a few times.

Start of week 8! 2 more weeks according to the breeder, but if i had to guess I would say 10 or 11 weeks. I absolutely love the way this strain smells, like gym socks but in a good way.

She's getting close now, the smell is getting really strong, its hard to see the trichome heads properly in the big clusters, but there's still a whole bunch of clear heads. I'm going to keep feeding her until I see some amber this time. the browning on the leaves was 100% light burn, glad I know what that looks like now!

Penultimate update to the diary! The plant has been getting nothing but water for around 5 days. trichomes are milky and lower leaves are starting to die off, I could probably feed her another week and she would've put on a little more weight, but I have decided to start her 48 hours of darkness on 20/05/2021 and then harvest!

Okay hear me out, This is my second grow, but this is honestly the best smoke I have had. Now whether that speaks volumes for this strain, or Dutch coffee-shops only time will tell. but still I will try to be objective, here's what I got as a grower: -A plant that never complained, aside from light burn. -a big plant with decent yield, she filled a 2.3x2.3 by herself. -dense, but smaller buds -so.many.trichomes. -Smells and tastes like OG Kush; Stretched like OG Kush, I think its fair to say, Kera seeds OG Kush is the real deal, or at least a good imitator. I got this as a free seed, I have two more Keraseeds freebies which now jumped up my list for potential next grows. I will revisit this strain in the future.

I always get a bit morose cutting down a plant, but overall I am very happy with this grow, I think I chose the perfect time to cut as I found a nanner on one of the buds whilst trimming. I could have done such a better job training and topping, mainly because this plant started as an experiment and I never intended to see her through flower, the plan was to kill her off once she became too big for the tent, I got her as a freebie seed and wanted to test topping, which is also why there is no veg in this diary, I didn't bother recording it. when the time came to cut her down, I choose to harvest my other plant early and keep this one around. I will revisit this strain in the future, and really go hard on training and topping! For now though, check out my current DWC grow! Thank you for checking out my Diary, keep safe and keep growing
