Welcome to a new diary! We began growing around this time last year, and after 1 failure and 1 success we're back with our first SOG method. This is going to be a tight fit; it's a 24x24x55 inch tent, so I fully expect a smaller yield than if I was attempting this in a 36x36. That said, the last grow we did filled the tent but the buds were airy, so we're looking to do less LST and let the bud sites grow together this time. We're using 5 gallon fabric pots, with each filled with about 3.5-4 gallons of soil.
Germination went well with all 3 seeds. They've been refrigerated since September and in a de-hydrated container, but they sprouted their tails after 48 hours in water. All three were planted and have taken root. Two of them look fairly healthy; the other one looks scraggly coming up, but it might not be fully opened yet so we'll see. I soaked the soil with plenty of Big Bloom for micronutes and just a tad of Grow Big -- learned from last time to get plenty of micronutes into the soil to start the process. If we can finish this in 10-11 weeks I'd be ecstatic, but knock on wood.
I'll update at the very end of this "week" (Friday) and start the journal proper, but we're starting on 18/6 light. Temps are in the low 70s during the day, 60s at night, with a humidity hovering between 40-55% depending on the day. With spring coming those temps and humidity will kick up soon.
Good luck with your grows! -4RockandStone

Late to the week, but here we are on Day 7 from germination! Not much to report. All 3 successfully have their roots down, and while they're still a little loose they don't seem to have any health deficiencies. I'll chalk that up to the fantastic FoxFarm soil and a liberal soaking of the environment with Big Bloom and a tad of Grow Big. Only annoyance I've got so far is that they originally stretched more than expected, so I lowered the light from 18 inches to 12 inches to shut that down. I want to keep these suckers low, since I've got a small overhead for height (55 in, but more realistically 48 in). Compared to last two grows, this has been a perfect germ cycle.
Looking forward, I want to LST a bit starting Week 3 or 4, and kick these to flowering in Week 6. The small space means I don't mind growing smaller plants, since competition for light is going to be a huge factor anyways. 3 seeds in a 4 square meter space is tight! The other thing I need to prep is buying a better outtake fan for smell, but that doesn't have to be done right away. I've got plenty of intake for now. Temperatures should be fairly steady this week, as should humidity.
I might update later in the week with more photos and a report, so stay tuned! Good luck with your grows. - 4RockandStone
UPDATE Day 11: Not much to report! They're all growing well and have started their second set of leaves. I might have overfed them slightly on nutes, as they look a little darker green than I'd like, but it could be the strain/early first leaves. I'll know more once the second set of leaves have fully emerged. Roots are solid now. Pulled the light back a few inches because I saw a bit of curling to suggest that nute deficiency or heat stress. Not too worried because early leaves always look a bit weird.

Starting Week 2 the right way! Plants so far are healthy and beginning their 3rd set of nodes. I've added a bit of additional nutes and cut back slightly on the micro-nutes. Only issue I've found the past few days has been that the roots still aren't as strong as I'd like, so I'll probably wait until Week 3 to do any LST. Weather has been wetter and warmer but due to where the grow is located I have had very, very little change in temps or humidity. That's great, and I hope to keep it that way going forward.
That's about it for now! I've dialed in from my last two grows so not nearly as much to report. I'll update with more pics and words at the end of this week. Good luck with your grows! - 4 Rock and Stone

Week 3 is starting out well! Nothing really to comment on. Been letting her go longer between waterings, and kicked up the Grow Big slightly. As of right now they're all growing well. I'll put it to the group whether I do any LST this week or not. Technically this is a SoG, but a little LST might go a long way to splitting the main cola a few different ways.
At the rate she's growing I'll be kicking her into flower in Week 5. I'll update later in the week as well with more photos. Good luck with your grows! - 4RockandStone

Very little to report from this week! The pictures above were taken at the start of the week, but about mid-week I did some light LST training to spread the bud sites out a bit. There's nothing to report on health or anything similar. Compared to my last couple grows, this one has been a real breeze! Thus far would recommend these seeds.
One change I did have was a readjustment of the grow tent. Bought a new exhaust fan, moved the previous inline fan to an intake fan. Has helped reduce the very slight smell a lot! Hoping the additional air circulation helps as well.

Alright, we're on to Week 5! A few things to note. First, after adjustment of the air flow and some of the light LST, the plants are doing perfectly okay! My only concern of any sort is that their water intake has been less than my previous plants, but I also haven't seen any defects or signs of underwatering. They're also progressing *much* faster than my Northern Lights had at this stage. I'm probably going to make the switch to flowering at 10 inches of growth to give me proper room for a stretch phase. That could happen this week or next week, and I think it'll depend on how much I want to LST the plants. Since this is a SOG grow in a tight environment, I don't think I'll need to do nearly as much as last time with a single plant. Then again, I do want to maximize my yields. Either way, I'll try to keep everyone updated.

Week 6, and our first week of flowering! I made the switch yesterday after some last LST over the weekend. I'll probably be fully finished with LST unless I feel that the canopy needs filled in. Shouldn't be an issue with 3 plants in a 2x2 space! Started this a little early as well to make sure that none of them grow too high, as with the new exhaust fan the space is a little cramped at the top of the tent. We'll do some defoliation at the end of the week once some stretching has occurred.
Few things to watch: I've supplemented with Fertilome (a poor man's Fox Farm Open Sesame), some molasses, and epsom salt. This trio worked well last grow, but two different strains means I'll be monitoring for nute burn or nute deficiencies. Thus far I haven't noticed anything like that, besides some twisting and ragged leaves from LST. Overall, this has been an easy grow! I hope it continues that way. Good luck with your grows!

It's Week 7, and we're trucking along pretty quick! Since flipping to flower last week all 3 plants have grown bushier and taller. Their pistils are starting to come in, and I can confirm that they're all girls. Health-wise they all seem to be doing pretty good. Pulled a couple lower leaves off each plant that were fading, and will do some defoliation this week to open up the air flow and expose the bud sites to more sun. I think I'll try to be more on the ball with keeping the lower nodes defoliated this time, trying to build some dense buds! If anything significant happens I'll update this week.

Week 8, and we're looking fine! Not too much to report. This has been a real easy grow thus far. This week I did some defoliation, mostly lollipopping so we can concentrate the buds higher on the plants. There was a bit of fading from that; I should have lollipopped before the switch to 12-12, but she's doing good! Staying low but really filling in those higher bud sites. I'm keeping an eye on the lack of stretching and hoping she takes off this week. Pistils are coming in, and we'll have some right proper buds showing probably next week.
Good luck with your grows!

Alrightie! Week 9 and we're trucking along.
So this is the first week where I haven't been terribly pleased with the results. First, these plants haven't been stretching in their flowering phase like I anticipated. That probably means lower yields than I'd like, which is a shame. I'd be happy if she grew another foot in height, but as we're nearing the end of early flower I don't see that happening. I'm guessing they'll top out between 15-18 inches; about 3-4 inches shorter than I'd hope.
Second, all are showing early signs of nute burn. The runt of the litter (far back-right corner) has shown it the worst on one lower cola that I hesitated to lop off last week (it was beneath the lollipop cutoff but I kept it anyways). I've cut back on nutes this week to strictly the Fox Farm, with maybe some of the molasses later if it seems to even out this week.
All to say, this week I'll be keeping a keener eye on the operation. The good news is that she looks like she'll be ready in 4-6 weeks, so not much longer to wait!
Good luck with your grows!

So, uh...some interesting changes, as you can see, judging by the photos. Things have gotten real wonky over the past 10 days. So let's recap, in case anyone else is using this strain:
After my post last week, I did a normal water/feed with about 2x as much water per plant as normal, since I'd held off a couple days on watering past their normal date. With fabric pots, normally isn't a problem. I also did a defoliation, which I've done mid-flower before, just removing fan leaves blocking bud sites/laying on each other. Didn't take more than about 20-25% of leaf material.
Woke up the next morning to one plant on full wilt, one plant yellowing hard, and the other looking perfectly dandy. Immediately ruled out underwatering, and thought it might be overwatering. I cycled the wilters in front of my intake fan, which should have dried them out. Became clear after 48 hours that the roots are not taking much water at all, which suggested root rot. That'd be surprising, as these suckers have not been overwatered through the cycle (if anything, underwatered!) and the fabric pots/air change should be getting rid of those issues. Also, Plant #2 wasn't wilting much until this morning, but looked like it was sucking nutes from its leaves and a possible cal/mag deficiency or pH imbalance. Ruled out the pH, and cal/mag would be weird as I've supplemented in previous weeks. Most weird of all is the 3rd plant, which is trucking right along with only the slightest nute burn.
The other major changes in the other two plants has been a clear sprint to flower. Pistils are browning fast. My thought is maybe these two plants got so stressed they've triggered into thinking they're dying off and are going into quick flower? I don't know, this has been a strange turn of events (and tbh, with how many problems I've had with every Seedsman order, I'm not surprised). At this point I'm just trying to nurse them along to harvest, but I think I'll lose at least 1, if not 2. Pretty pissed.
Anywho, to those who might check this diary because they're trying this strain, my two cents would be *do not defoliate whatsoever post-flower.* They're waaaaay too susceptible to triggering like this. I'll probably let them go until they're clearly about dead before checking the roots, so I'll report back if they're looking like they have root rot.
