Week #2 - May 26th update Start of week 2 and growth has been somewhat slow. Mainly due to seasonal temps in my basement. Was a little worried about Louise but she seems to be off and running now. They’re still small, but looking healthy so will look to start nutes after day 10 and next watering. Steady as she goes. Week #2 - May 29th update Bit the bullet and upgraded to a 450w ViparSpectra - hence the lighting change. Let’s hope it’s worth it. Shoulda bought this originally. “F’ing A,Cotton!”

Jun 9 - start of week 4 and it’s transplant day. They’re both going into 5gal. Smart pots, offset to the side so that I can train them out from the front of the cabinet to the back. Spiked the new soil with some grow nute too. Coulda step transplanted one more time but I’m lazy and there’s no rush on this grow. Ph is lower than usual but I’ve figured out why now so it’s gonna be easy to stay in range in the future. Thanks for stoppn by👍👊 Jun 14 update - still minimal watering for now but should start with full saturation of the bags shortly. Seeing a little bit of leaf wrinkle so she’s gonna sit and dry out heavy the next few days. 5th leaf set/node is now showing and won’t be long before first topping. 1 month of veg. in the books and lookn good!

Jun 16 - first month is in the books and they’re well on their way. Still waiting on my ph kit to arrive but alls still lookn good. 5th set is almost out for topping. Expect a couple more days. Let the fun begin! Jun 19 - got a little overzealous and she’s def. been overwatered. Growth is a little slow (prob. Cuz of this) but they’re still in good shape. Jun 20 - girls got their haircut today. Topped ‘em both. 👍 Jun 22 - end of week 5 and they’re recovering nicely from the topping. new colas coming up as expected.

Jun 23 - start of week 6 on veg. And a little slower than expected. She is however, recovering nicely from the topping and we now wait on some more growth to start lst. All good in da hood. 👍 Jun 24 update - hmmm, upon further review I think I may have topped a little later than I wanted to. I blame the strain because it’s really short, stout and bushy so counting the nodes was harder than you’d think. They’re now 4” in height which is about where id like to have the screen set. More topping is going to cost more time and instead, I’ve selectively removed a top pair of large fan leaves covering 2 lower side branches. If this works I should have 6 readily trainable colas to work with and no further need for topping. Going off script and make’n er my own. Thanks for stopping by all! 🙏 June 25 update - clipped another 2 fans on Thelma and left Louise alone. Wondering if this will result in some better branch development that was underneath (not obvious in the photos). June 28 update - started pinning her to spread out what’s now a dense mess of leaves competing for light. At this point I’m probably resigned to veg. Costing me more than 8 weeks but all good, plants recovered nicely and there’s no rush here. June 29 update - lst session to spread ‘er out.

Jun 30 - start of week 7. Following the lst they’re right back to battling for every bit of light they can get. Took about a week to recover from the topping but now she’s really starting to explode. Hope to be putt’n out the net soon once she gains a little more height. Gonna guess about 3 weeks to the switch. The strain is a slow grower but my other problem is temp. Right at the bottom of the scale at 18c so gonna look into small space heating options. Jul 3 update - it’s a dense mess disaster for Louise (right) to the point that I’m getting twisted, mottled leaves. Cleaned out the undercarriage and defo’d anything getting in the way of light access to each bud site. I’m hoping it hasn’t caused any set back in growth as she’s already delayed almost a full month on the expected schedule. Thelma’s (left) doing well and only needed a trim underneath albeit with 2 less expected colas (planned). Gonna drop the net this week, pull the tie downs and pray for a quick fill. Jul 5 - they may not be growing much in height but definitely keep filling in with new leaves quick. Trimmed the middle fans out for some better light penetration and looking at a small heater option to raise temps. 18c is really the only enviro problem and likely what’s keeping growth slower than expected.

not inexperienced but my first scrog and indr photo grow. Only problem is lower temps (nothing I can do to fix this) which may be slowing growth. Any thoughts on defo, training to advance to flower? Been a long veg. and wondering if I’m doing something wrong or just impatient?

Hello ! You really haveto find a solution to increase your temps... 18°c is really too low for a day temp... You can maybe put your lamp lower, at 30cm, this can increase a bit.. Wish u the best !

Jul 7 update - start of week 8 and despite the slower growth she’s strong and has a great structure (not in photos). Fixed the temp issue with a small space heater which now has it at a constant/perfect 25-26c. I don’t expect her to stretch much after the flip so still intend on holding her back an extra week or so to fill out the screen as much as I can. One day at a time, pretty happy with er so far. Jul 11 update - the addition of a small space heater is keeping temps in the sweet spot and they’re definitely responding to it really well. Feel like i probably burned 2+ weeks of veg. Time with this issue alone. That said, still likely to run ‘em to 9 weeks before the flip.

Jul 14 - start of week 9 veg and their bushing out well with the higher temps. Stay tuned for the switch this week! Cheers Jul 16 update - they’ve gained some height and feed frequency has picked up. Cut out some middle fans and stripped out some of the bottom in prep. for the switch. We’ll see what smaller stuff comes up this week around the outside and lollipop accordingly. SWEET!👍 Jul 18 update - the added week is proving a good idea and they’re really bushing out now. More growth tips are showing following each weave as well. Jul 19 update - more weaving and tie down. They’ve filled out big and flip is tomorrow.

Jul 21 update - finally time to move to flowering! They’ve responded well to the temp. Increase and the canopy got real crowded and bushy. We stripped her back aggressively, pulling almost all fan leaves - just like the book said. We’ve left any potential bud sites intact instead of fully lollipopping the undercarriage - there’s more room to squeeze out of this cabinet yet and I’ll use every inch of it if possible. Hopefully it’ll pay off with a couple extra colas. We’ll continue to train her on the screen for next week or two where necessary but I’ll generally avoid further defo until about week 3. Let the stretch begin and thanks for stoppn in!!! 👊👍 Jul 22 update - she’s recovered well post defo and already filling back in again. Jul 24 update - still minorly pruning and opening up bud sites. Jul 27 update - she’s bursting with new leaf growth in only a week. I was planning on another defo start of week 3 flower but this may force me to advance the timeline if she keep sending cover ing all these new bud sites. Stay tuned y’all it’s gonna get spicy! 🌶️ lol! 👍

Jul 28/29 - start of week 11 and humidity has jumped 10% due to all the new leaf growth. It’s crazy crazy how much she’s shes filled back in after only a week. If you look at the time lapse the first defo put out a ton of new bid sites. I’ll probably have to do defo number 2 a full week ahead of sched. To ensure max bud exposure but even if this necessitates a third and final trim (not ideal) I think I’ll have to do it. They’ve gone from slow starters to mad behemoths! Stay tuned and thanks for stoppn by. Me thinks this harvest’ll be pretty big! 👊👍👊 Jul 30 update - stripped em back with another pretty harsh defo this week. Snapped a smaller branch by accident and a little pissed about it. Let’s just hope for a swift recovery 🙏 Jul 31 update - they seem to be recovering well. perked back up in just 24 hours. Lost a branch due to clumsy ness... Aug 2 update - she’s filling right back in and we’re defoing again, probably early next week at this rate. Vertical growth has slowed so stretch is over soon if not already. Buds are forming and canopy isnt perfect with bud heights between 7”-10”. That said, think shes gonna chunk out after next defo and then we wait till ripe 😉. Alls good!

Aug 4 - start of week 3 of flower and she’s showing her buds prominently. The stretch is over mostly and she’s built up some nice future colas, all approx 7-10” in height. The plants themselves have been scrogged to a full height of only 15” which is about what was expected of this strain. SHes bushy and we’ve been through 2 flowering defos already but will be cutting again in a couple days. It should be the last major prune before we sit back and wait for the finish! STAY TUNed and happy growing!👍 Aug 6 update - stripped ‘em down for the third time today, hopefully for the last time. We know what we’re dealing with now and there’s about 28 tops growing out, 10-12 of which will be quite thick . Woulda been nice if the canopy was a little more uniform but still not a bad first attempt. Couldn’t have asked for much more than this so let’s hope it works out.👍👍

Aug 11-13 - start of week 13 and end of a good vaca at the cottage. Girls did just fine while we were gone. They pushed up about an inch and have started to hair out and thicken. It’ll be some light pruning and steady increase in nute ratio over next 3 weeks or so. Minimal work from here on out and finish should come quick in the next 5-6 weeks . Happy growing y’all! 👊 Aug 17 update - don’t like doing it but cut out some small Larfy bud that’s never gonna hit the screen and see full light. Trying to put what energy possible to the big colas but I’m keeping everything else due to the small footprint. Hopefully she turns out as a dense mess. WELL see soon!

Aug 18 - start of week 14 and this marks the back half of her flowering period based on the strain specs. She added an inch in height and while I wouldve preferred a little more uniformity in the canopy, it’s a pretty decent first try and the buds are stacking up really nicely. Here’s hoping for a strong finish 😉. Aug 20 update - yeesh, their still filln in like crazy and are now covered in frosty goodness. I’m trying my best not to mess with em but did need to trim a couple leaves here and there. A little at a time, trying not to shock em. Aug 21 update - took off just a couple more leaves to get some more light to the lower bud sites. As can be seen, she’s stacking up and filling in nicely. It was the right call letting some of the smaller branches grow out into flower as a few (more than expected) are now legitimate colas 👍. I expect it’s mostly just watering and minor maintenance from here on out. Aug 23 update - would you believe this is the first time I’ve taken true colour photos of these girls?!? So silly and shouldve been doing this from the beginning! She’s frosting out heavy and looking great. Can’t wait to see what other colours she might have at full maturity. I’ll try to continue with better definition photos where possible as she’s super gorgeous! CHEERS GD!

Aug 25 - coming in to week 6 of flower and by the book about 3 weeks out from the finish. Super happy with lighting upgrade as it seems to really be plumping ‘em out! My Scrog skills - meh - Wouldve preferred them a little more even. The net helped to spread em out but the string isn’t strong enough to tame em - you can see how the plant has tugged on it in the photos so noted for next time. Other than that, kicked up the nutes a notch and fed today. Stay tuned, this one should be good. 👍

Sep 1 - start of week seven of flower and things are chugging along nicely. They’ve stopped growing vertical completely and are getting wider and bulkier by the day. Colours really starting to show now and man she's lovely! This should be the last week of the nutrient regimen before we start the flush - assuming that the breeder specs are accurate. Trich checks will be starting this week. Not long now folks! Thanks for stoppn by👊👍 Sep 3 update - looks like all the strain details are going to be spot on (good to see). Trichs are clouding out, the buds are super dense and we’re supposed to have about a week Or two left to the chop.

Sep 8 - start of week 8 of flower. It will be the first week of flush for these girls and expect harvest around end of this week or next. The leaf tips have started to yellow out (just early signs) so they’️re ripening up for sure. Trichs still a little too glassy for the full effect as yet so we’️ll have to be patient and make sure we don’️t jump the gun early. IMO this is the most important stage of the grow - just trying to pick that perfect time to chop ‘er. Thanks for stopping in GD fam. We’️ll see ya on the flip side when she’️s ready to weigh out!👊🤙👊🤙 Sep 11 update - quick shoutout to our American growers on the anniversary of 9/11. Sep 15 - start of week 9 and 2nd week of flush for these two. They’ve performed admirably and we’re not long to the chop. Still looks and feels a little early yet - should go to at least the end of the week. Smells ridiculous and their fatting out huge! Not long now and thanks for tuning in.👊👊👍 Sep 19 update - we’ll we’re at day 60 and the breeder info is spot on. Trich check and were cloudy with some small hints of amber starting. could probably harvest now but going to give em one more flush today and let em dry out for the next 6 days or so with 48 hour dark period to finish. The nugs are stupid dense, hard as rocks so she’s gonna weigh nice for sure.👍👍👍

Sep 22 - start of week 9 and she was supposed to get a dark 48 in prep for chop. I’m not quite sure they’re there yet. Gonna reassess tonight and see what happens. Trichs are good and not sure how much more I want to push it. THAnks for dropping by and please hold for harvest!👍😎👍 Sep 25 update - day 67 of flower and there was a surprising amount of amber trichs that started showing up so went with my gut and made the call to chop. What’s most interesting about the photos is that I was able to remove the netting and get a good look at the insides of the plants. YOu can tell in the “split” photo that there was good light penetration but it was simply too crowded in there. A good bit of underdeveloped buds. This was due primarily to access issues and perhaps my own failure to properly lollipop below the screen. Again, that part was a pain in the ass too due to the tight confines. That said, the bulk of these girls is rock hard massive and thick buds with some serious weight. They’ll hang out for about 10-14 days before the jar. Should break my personal best for indoor grows. Looking good and can’t wait for the taste test. 👍

I continue to love this platform. I'm logging stats that not only assist with further grows but also at a level of detail I never thought possible. This was a first attempt at a scrog setup and I have a very small footprint as you can see. The big knock was lack of access around and in the middle of the plants, it was just too cramped and watering was a real bitch too. I'll probably do this again but with some type of hybrid screen the next time around to make feedings easier. Definitely coulda done better with evening out the canopy but still not that bad. The results however were record breaking - I was hoping for 3-4oz. and ended up with 4 oz. exactly! These buds are dense as hell too - like little rocks. I still think I can squeeze more yield out of this footprint but won't be complaining about the 4oz. haul at all. The next cycle will be dedicated to pinning down the best grow method for this footprint so we'll be experimenting with a manifold and multi-fimm technique. Hope to see you cats there! Happy grow'n to all!😎👊 0
