Dingle_Dangle Second year as a grower. First time with this strain. This year I improved my knoweledge about techniques and I'm trying to apply what I learned.
I like growing cannabis in the same way I grow tomatoes or zucchini, so outdoor, in the soil and only supplying water, checking for bugs sometimes, no specific nutrients or stuff.
I know this is not what's commonly done by people here but this is my journey. Enjoy ;)

Dingle_Dangle Day 7 - First day of the second week.
Temperature outside dropped significantly. The max is 14Β°C when we are lucky; during night, sunrise, sunset also goes around 2-3Β°C Definitely not the best for my babies.
I took and cut two plastic water bottles to use as micro greenhouse during cold but sunny days and inserted those metal sticks in the soil to use them as support for the bottles.
During night I retire them in the garage, not particularly warm but for sure a little warmer and more covered than outside.
Supplying very few water once every 2 days since the soil is always humid at this temperatures.
Hope in warmer weather in the next days/weeks.

Dingle_Dangle Day 14 - First day of the third week.
Very very bad situation. As you can see the situation is basically the same as 7 days ago.
I think that my babies stopped growing because of the low temperatures. The small greenhouse with the bottles is not enough and probably because the temperature of the soil remains too low.
I'll try to keep it in a sort of garage I have, near a dirty window. Light will be less but hopefully temperatures will be slightly better, also because the main problem about the weather is that sun in decent but wind is very cold.
Again, all I can do is hoping in better weather. Finger crossed.

These are Autos, so theoretically I'm at half of the vegetative stage (day 14). I think they stopped growing because of low temps (around 10Β°C durind day). Is this going to flower in 2 weeks also if the dimensions remain these? :/
Dingle_Dangle Day 21 - First day of the 4th week.
Here I come with the weekly update.
As you can see from the pic, weather situation is getting better and temperatures are slightly increasing.
Babies are spending most of their time under the direct sunlight and seems that they're slowly slowly re-starting growing.
Unfortunately night is still cold so I can't transplant them in the ground as I planned to do and I have to keep retiring them inside before sunset.
I have no idea why second leaves are bended down, please let me know if you have any comment about.
Again, all I can do is hoping in better weather and that they keep growing. Finger crossed.
- DD
Cold temperatures slowed significantly their growth. Given the situation, are they going to have more time then the 4 usual weeks for the vegetation stage? I mean, will the flowering stage be delayed of 1/2 weeks?
Thanks
- DD
Yes and no. I don't have much experience but I think the grow period will go a bit longer if temperatures are low. But it's life is still determined by genetics. With cooler temperatures it mainly won't get as big and consequently less yield. Because auto's have such a shortened and rigid life cycle you really want to keep thing optimal to maximize yield. But if you don't it is not the end of the world. You will just get a smaller prize at the end.
Dingle_Dangle Day 28 - First day of the 5th week.
Slow slow slow but something is happening.
Theoretically this should the time to flower, I'm kinda curious about what will happen, if it's going to continue veg phase or just flowering tomorrow and giving me in the end a micro bud? What's sure is that I haven't found information in the net about the behavior of autos in case of grow stopped by the cold temps (my case) and so I'll be happy to finally have an answer to my questions and this could also be useful for all the GD community.
Btw, I reported the usual temperatures graph provided by a national meteorological society. I was so happy that the situation was getting better but last days has been a flop. Just cold, clouds and rain. I kept the plants in the garage near a dirty window for both day and night for the last 4 days, so 0 direct sunlight. Let's hope in the next days.
About watering it's 4/5 days I don't give them water. Surfing the net I found out that the droppy leaves are probably given to overwatering, so now I check humidity of the soil with a finger before watering: also today after 4/5 days soil is humid, probably also because of high air humidity due to the rain in these days.
Also another fact I'm a little embarrassed to say, there are little mushrooms popping out from the soil sometimes, I think this is a strong enough sign that I watered them too much.
Again, all I can do is hoping in better weather and that they keep growing. Finger crossed.
(Also waiting for stable good weather for planting new seeds and starting new diaries π )

Dingle_Dangle Day 35 - First day of the 6th week.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm happy to announce that we already have the answers to all our (more like "my") questions: F L O W E R I N G !
So if all go as it has to go in 9/10 weeks I'll have my two micro buds, just enough to roll a joint π€£
Anyway, this is going to be interesting.
Weather unstable, still in the pots and still spending night inside. Restarted giving them very few water. Plants seem to be healthy.
I reported the usual temperatures graph provided by a national meteorological society.

( PS. I'm using stupid diary info (lamp distance growing outdoor, nutrient = none, ...) because of how GD algorithm work. Sorry for this. )

Giving them few water but daily.
Plants seem to be healthy.

Day 56 - First day of the 9th week.
They do their stuff, IDK π, all I do is watching and watering.
First night out (no shelter) for them with minimum temp of 12Β°C.
Lower leaves are turning yellow but I think it's ok/normal.
Some rain and some sun but weather situation seems getting better.

Day 70 - First day of the 11th week.
Last update before harvest.
Lot of sun but also lot of rain this week. Had to check weather constantly to move the babies in the shelter in case of storm, since I don't want water causing moisture in the buds.
I reported the usual temperatures graph provided by a national meteorological society.
They are so cute.

Yeah its not going to do much anymore. Problems it encountered: a bad wet spring with very cold temps. This in combinations with too wet soil, not enough light and there are no do-overs with auto's. Now is the time to start some autos in with the warm weather. It seems your trichomes are still glassy, just let it go, nothing to lose...
I don't have enough data to rate this strain. This grow was a meme but not fault of the strain (I think) but of the wrong conditions.
If I'll have the possibility I would like to give it another chance because at least COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL !

Day 83
We are at the end of this journey.
Here the pics of these 2 tiny airy but at least scented buds π
After 80 long days we got a yield of 1 gram π Not even 2/3 as I hoped. Just 1 ! ! !
At least I have nice photos of my microbabies...
Also the third seed of this strain I planted died. So you'll never see the grown version of this strain on my profile. π Feels bad.
Now curing and then I'll enjoy my 80-days-joint and I'll update with effects.
βοΈ "WHAT WE HAVE LEARNT FROM THIS EXPERIENCE?"
π Guys, if you live in southern Europe, don't grow automatics outdoor in April BEACUSE IT'S FUCKIN TOO COLD πππ
Peace.
- DD
well giving automatics the best conditions, changes the game.. their time is running and they are done if time is over...
look for fluffy soil, smartpots and wait alitttle
Yes this strain needs night temperatures of a minimum 18Β°C to grow. Happened to me with a previous "couscous" from Zamnesia ( a strawberry if I remember correctly) , no complaints , but they need shelter. Other than that, got me 5 joints out of it , creamy smoke and euforic high, very pleasent afternoon.
I would blaame your growmedium for those tiny ggirls, its not optimal for seeds// seedlings
seedlinggs like it light and fluffy and onlyl light prefertilised
@Mrs_Larimar, well, what can I say, for sure thanks a lot for the tips but I don't know how much I'll be able to apply.
I'm not interested in spending money for special soils, and can't put "in the final pot" since their final location was supposed to be the garden soil, so basically a "final pot" does not exist in my case.
I had already planned to grow most after june and this is what I'm going to do, I just wanted to experiment if something in earlier season was possibile. That's all.
@Mrs_Larimar, no worries. And thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with me. Also if I don't apply, I appreciate and still learn something :) peace
auto flowers are more suitable for home ! π I had problems and I will no longer plant auto flowers on the street, I placed plants on the street, and instead of development they got degradation and began to look badπ
Ha ha ha you are killing me brother !! Happened to me last year, I did better this year but I now believe in our kind of climate autos are great from first week of june forward. And a nice early crop in that dry August before some photoperiods sound really good to me.
