This will be my first attempt at growing under a LED light so I'm figuring there will be a bit of a learning curve. The good folks at Viparspectra have been kind enough to supply me with their xs2000 to test out for them . First off the lamp was shipped in a very discreet box with no hint of the contents , very nice for those that like to be private about their hobby It seems quite solidly built and comes out of the box ready to plug and play, including a pair of ratchet hangers. As for the grow I am going to give fastbuds Gelato a try. I soaked the seed for about 20hrs then put it in a rapid rooter tucked in a 1liter airpot filled with soil , I put a bag over it for a humidity dome and then set it under the lamp at about 30" high and at 30%power 48hrs later she breached the surface. If you want to check out ViparSpectra you can find all their stuff at www.viparspectra.com Or look them up on facebook https.//www.facebook.com/groups/ViparSpectraClub

The new viparspectra xs2000 seems to be working well so far , I really like the ability to dim it when I am tending the garden as it is incredibly bright even when wearing shades. Fastbuds Gelato seems to be off to a good start and appears to be loving the new light , which I have at 50% power right now and 28"above the plant. I will be moving it a little closer this week and see how it goes. You can check out all their lights at www.viparspectra.com And they tell me you can use the code GDVIP for a discount Also look them up on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/ViparSpectraClub

Day 14 and she is looking healthy and happy. I will be transplanting tomorrow into a 5gal phat sack filled with Great Lakes Water Only soil mix and will water her in with some compost tea. I have turned the xs2000 up to 60% now and will probably go for 75% later in the week, it's still about 28" above the plant. www.viparspectra.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/ViparSpectraClub Try GDVIP for a discount

A decent week of growth for this girl. She has been taking to the LST very well and has spread out nicely, with a fairly even canopy .Hopefully she will start to stretch some in the coming weeks. The xs2000 is currently running at 80% approximately 23 inches above the canopy www.viparspectra.com Discount code GDVIP https://www.facebook.com/groups/ViparSpectraClub

So far she is growing well and appears to be healthy. I gave her compost tea for one of her waterings a few days ago but otherwise it's just plain water. The xs2000 I am testing out for viparspectra seems to be working well to this point. There is a bit of a learning curve for me as this is my first attempt using led lighting www.viparspectra.com Discount code GDVIP https://www.facebook.com/groups/ViparSpectraClub https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 Code It10gdvip

She is not stretching as much as I would like to see but I have had big harvests from squat plants when the colas got fat enough time will tell on this one. Overall she looks very healthy I have the xs2000 running at about 90% and 21" above the plant. I have been increasing the power and closing the distance as I go You can check out their stuff at www.viparspectra.com Discount code GDVIP https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 Code. It10gdvip

The buds continue to get frostier and smellier day by day. I will be brewing up a compost tea designed for bloom later this week. The xs2000 is currently 18" above the canopy and running at 100% A big thanks to viparspectra for providing the lamp to test out. www.viparspectra.com Discount code GDVIP https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 Discount code It10gdvip

Buds are starting to swell and take on a more mature look , also appears some of the fan leafs are starting to fade. Wasn't able to fit in her bloom tea last week but have it all bubbled up and ready for tomorrow's watering. The xs2000 is still about 18" above her and running at 100% www.viparspectra.com Discount code gdvip https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 Discount code It10gdvip

She has some funky leaf coloring happening , maybe I waited too long to give her the bloom tea or maybe it was just too much for her. Fortunately the buds continue to swell day by day. I took a look at the trichomes the other day just for shits and giggles was surprised to find them well on the way to all cloudy all ready. Will be checking for a little amber in the coming weeks. The xs2000 is still about 18 inches above and running at 100% www.viparspectra.com Discount code GDVIP https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 Code It10gdvip

I am quite pleased with the way bud are swelling under the xs2000. I had heard that getting buds as fat and sticky using led lights as when using HPS lights was probably not going to happen. I won't know for sure until the grow is complete but so far they are looking pretty damn nice. Judging by the trichomes it should only be another week or two until harvest. www.viparspectra.com code gdvip https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 code. It10gdvip

The buds are fat and sticky and smelling heavenly 😋 I have been checking trichomes regularly and am starting to see ambers crop up so harvest is going to be pretty soon maybe a week at most. I have the xs2000 turned down to about 85% just to help with the summer temps and still 18" above the canopy www.viparspectra.com code gdvip https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 code It10gdvip

Nice dense buds with a pleasant flavor. The buzz is very soothing and relaxing but still leaves you with enough energy to get something done if you're so inclined.

This was my first time growing with a LED light and first time growing this strain. Viparspectra was kind enough to supply the xs2000 for me to test out and I must say I am very impressed with the performance of this unit. If anyone is interested in checking out their stuff you can go to www.viparspectra.com and use code GDVIP or https://amzn.to/3ttb2j9 code It10gdvip Now for the grow Seed was soaked for 24hrs then placed in a rapid rooter peat pellet, which was tucked in a 1liter airpot filled with potting soil. A plastic bag was used as a humidity dome. She breached the surface 48hrs later On day 14 she was transplanted into a 5gal phat sack filled with Great Lakes Water Only soil mix and watered in with a compost tea made with worm castings , molasses and water bubbled for 24hrs. LST was started on day 21 Day 30 she was given a watering with the same tea as on day 14 By week 6 she was drinking about a gallon of water every 3-4 days Day 62 she was watered with a compost tea that besides the molasses and worm castings also included bat guano seabird guano alfalfa meal and a liquid fish and kelp fertilizer all bubbled for 72hrs. Even though I gave it to her at 1/2 strength it was a little more than she could handle as was evident by the sudden change in leaf color. But despite that she continued to grow and fatten her buds. The last 2 weeks she was watered with 1tsp per gal of molasses added to her water. She was chopped down on day 97 one day short of 14wks. I would have liked to let her go another week or so but she was already showing a few amber trichomes and I was worried about the super hot and humid weather so down she came. She was 12"×12"×12" basically a cubic foot of bud 😋 Dry weight was taken after a week of hanging and almost a month of cure neither of which could have been accomplished without the help of a good friend who let me use his climate controlled home to dry and cure. He also handled all the burping of the jars for several weeks. Hell of a good man

I see that you are keeping the bottom of the pot off the ground using a metal rack. I'm doing the same thing as I am guessing it improves air flow to the soil, prevents the pot from sitting in a pool of run-off and makes it easier to collect the run off for TDS measurements?
Inganjawetrust
Inganjawetrustcommented4 years ago
@Bikerwolf, I'm doing it mostly for the air movement under the pot but it is also good for the other things you mentioned.
