I see that you are keeping the bottom of the pot off the ground using a metal rack. I'm doing the same thing as I am guessing it improves air flow to the soil, prevents the pot from sitting in a pool of run-off and makes it easier to collect the run off for TDS measurements?

@Bikerwolf, I'm doing it mostly for the air movement under the pot but it is also good for the other things you mentioned.
