Hey all,
Really excited to get this grow started. Germed 6 seeds but only 5 popped, with 1 having really strange long growth. As a backup plan I went ahead and germed 2 RQS Critical seeds that I got as freebies just to make sure I have all 6 grow pots populated. Just transferred from rockwool cube tray under florescent light and heat-mat to my grow pots and Black Diamond Perfectsun Dwarfstar LED. Temps are a little low but we have a heatwave coming through so I think it should be fine.
More to come stay tuned.
On to week 2
Seedlings are coming right along, even the one that was growing stretched and not standing up straight. I placed it in the center bucket and it is now perked right up and showing good growth. Most of the difference in growth has happened since Thursday which I am trying to sort the pictures in order.
Temps have risen as I suspected with the warm weather finally arriving here. I went ahead and lowered my light down a bit as well.
Added in some Floralicious Plus, Mammoth P and just a splash of Orca directly on the cubes. I am using up my remaining AN Sensi Grow for now but will be running GH Maxibloom and most of their additives.
Both of my RQS Criticals have sprouted. Only really needed 1 to fill the 6th grow pot, but I would hate to waste the other. I do have a DWC bucket I could add in. I am thinking it may be a little too tight for when they are placed in my 8x4 tent. I have never tried growing in coco. It might be a fun experiment and I can just try keeping it on the smaller side so they all have enough room. Still debating what I should do with it.
I am open to any suggestions and thanks for checking out my grow!
Week 3 begins, not too much going on. Upped the nutrients just a bit, lowered light a couple inches. First set of true leaves came in. Decided to put my extra RQS Critical into coco and just hand feed from the reservoir.
I set up an old raspberry pi as a webcam server using the application 'motion'. Hoping to have some decent time lapse shots when all is through.
I will update pictures as the week progresses.
Week 4 begins
As from the week before I will be updating time lapse pictures every day. Plants grew quite a bit, finally see roots poking through the bottom of the net pot. Hoping to start training the plants soon, possibly mid week.
FLIP!
Well more like transfer to 8x4 tent. It might be a little early, but I am not sure how much this strain will stretch. I'd rather they be on the small side instead of out of control big like some of my previous (albeit sativa leaning) strains. I transplanted my 1 coco Critical into a 3 gal fabric pot. I had some sample Flora series bottles from the Harvest Cup and decided to follow GH's transition chart for this week. Best of all I finally get to use my new HLG 550s. No topping this time around, instead I am trying out this new LST tool called The OG Spring. Giving the plants a good 30 hours of darkness before I resume light schedule.
Also this week I will be taking clones of each plant as I pheno hunt to find a keeper or 2.
As advised I have reduced EC a bit, now onto Maxibloom and Liquid Koolbloom. Temps are creeping a bit high, so I went ahead and got a Titan Mercury 4 fan controller to see if that can help stabilize it a bit. I am also now monitoring CO2 levels. Zombie Kush are looking good but I did notice some discoloration on the Critical's lower fan leaves. Waiting on some more stretch before I LST and defoliate any further.
Just took some cuttings and dropped them in the EZ Cloner, first attempt at doing this.
UPDATE 6/6:
Lowered lights to 38" from canopy and some minor defoliation of large fan leaves, LST some of the larger side branches down and out
No major changes to report. Lots of LST and targeted defoliation. True height is probably a little higher but measurement is taken after LST. I want to push these a little harder with the nutes and see how they react, all seems well so far. They are definitely drinking up more water, had to top off the res for the first time end of last week.
Beginning of week 8
Pretty even canopy so far, I have been defoiling but leaves keep filling in, giving them a few days rest before i start removing leaves again. Pistils are really coming in now and I am hoping the stretch slows down at this point. Really stable temps, Mercury 4 fan controller has been a great addition.
Not much to add this week, slight bump in EC due to increased FloraNectar. Plants have stretched a good amount, hoping thats about done now but I have plenty of space if needed.
Update: topped off res, ppm dropped to 1000, added another 100ml of liquid koolbloom. updated nutrient chart here
New toy alert: I went ahead and got a Bluelab combo meter to replace my cheapo PH and TDS pens. PH pen was only off by about 0.1 but TDS was reading about 50 high. I also realize my temperature gun was not giving me accurate readings for my reservoir. Temps are reaching high 70s and I had a good amount of brown algae in my reservoir so I cleaned it up completely (pumps, airstones, wires and air tubes). With the warmest weather rolling in starting this week I really want to make sure I don't run into any issues. I have some Hydrogaurd being delivered tomorrow as some insurance for my roots.
Frost is really starting to come in now, plants are really sticky. Clones in my veg tent are coming along nice now too. This will be my first perpetual grow like I intended by having 2 tents with the same ebb and flow setup.
Video posted for this week was taken last night. Getting anxious on which plants will be kept. I just noticed the Zombie Kush with the smallest root zone, leaves and shortest height happens to be (by far) the frostiest. Will be running 1 of each, 1 more time to be certain. I will be taking these to the lab to be tested as well.
Starting the dry Koolbloom as we enter the ripening phase. Trichomes already look well developed and some cloudy. Hoping the pistols begin to darken but may need to run them an extra week.
Still needs more time, trichs are all mostly cloudy. This should be the final week before flush, just waiting on pistols. Perhaps they will pack on a little more weight but they are looking nice at the moment
Due to some scheduling coming up and the fact that my clones are getting too big for my veg area I harvested about half. They had a quick flush and were close enough. I have 3 remaining that have been placed in my veg tent to flush this week.
Nice harvest, happy overall. Tight frosty buds, easy to grow. No issues. Still curing so I can't say for sure yet. Adding this as a place holder, will update later
A little lazy on the trimming with this one, but considering these were just freebies that i grew out to fill in space they are very good. Will grow again
