Strain
This strain is just okay mostly because it’s not suitable for outdoor growing. There were a few different phenotypes and alll of them were overly sensitive to the temperature extremes (five nights near 0 C in mid-May and then three days at 37 C in late June). Most of these plants were obviously severely stunted by the cold and many were culled and replaced. The heat waves also caused a lot of distress for these plants compared to other strains that did fine. Some of that is due to the smaller 3 gallon pots that don’t do much to insulate the roots from the temperature extremes.
Fast Buds doesn’t really recommend Smoothie for outdoor but I thought all of their strains would be good outside due to the ruderalis genetics. Unfortunately that was not the case and these Smoothies were an almost total bust. There were some decent yielders but the average yield was likely only 25-30 grams per plant which is far too low. A second batch of Smoothies were started in June (Late Smoothie diary) but those are also not that great. I won’t be trying Smoothie again as a commercial crop.
