Started Germination on 4/17, but mistakenly let the paper towels dry out. Re-wet on 4/18 and started seeing tap root on 4/19.
Planted in solo cups on 4/20. Mixed Fox Farms Ocean Forest with Perlite (3/4 ocean forest, 1/4 perlite).
Lightly watered on 4/24
4/26 - Lights are now 30" from plants at 60% dimmed. Will increase to 80% tomorrow and 100% on Wednesday, 4/28.
4/28 - Lights are at 100%, 30" away. They stretched a little too much which makes me think I should have had the lights at 100% the whole time rather than increasing over several days.
4/28 - watered plants.
These plants are finally recovering from a bit of over watering and transplant. They only grew about a half an inch this past week, but that growth has come in the last couple of days. Lights are set at about 60% as of 5/11.
5/15 - Watered each plant with 28 oz 6.3 pH water:
#1 - 7# 1oz before water. 8# 5.8oz after. 6 oz run off, 477 ppm, 6.45 pH
#2 - 7# 1.2oz before water. 8# 11oz after water. 2 oz run off, 699 ppm, 6.1pH
#3 - 6# 3.4oz before water. 7# 9oz after water. 6 oz run off, 626 ppm, 6.1 pH
Watered #1 a little to fast so more water ran out the side of the fabric pot into the tray which probably explains the lower ppm and slightly higher pH values.
5/18 - Watered plants with 6.3 pH water:
#1 - 6.14.9 before water. 28 oz water. 8.5.1 after. 6 oz runoff, 6.1 pH, 467 ppm
#2 - 7.4.4 before water. 28 oz water. 8.11.0 after. 5 oz runoff, 6.12 pH, 419 pm
#3 - 6.2.7 before water. 30 oz water. 7.10.2 after. 6 oz runoff, 6.0 pH, 490 ppm
5/19 - Topped all three plants and removed first set of lower leaves.
5/21 - Watered plants with 36oz 6.3 pH nutrient water:
#1 6.8.5 before, 7.9.7 after. 6.2 pH, 675 ppm
#2 6.3.5 before, 8.5.1 after. 6.1 pH, 820 ppm
#3 5.14.3 before, 6.14.7 after. 6.2 pH, 630 ppm
watered plants too quickly and run off was excessive (coming out of the sides of the cloth pots).
Plants didn't start out the week doing very well, but are recovering nicely. Feeding once a week with pH adjusted water every three days. Raised lights to 30 inches from smallest plant (#2 - 6.5") to try and get them to stretch a little.
The plants finally recovered from topping and FIMing. They also appear to not like to dry out and instead prefer a moist soil. I was feeding about 40 oz of water to each plant every three days, but the plants were usually starting to wilt a bit on that third day and would take the entire day to recover.
6/14 - Watered each plant 42 oz. 6.3 pH water with Hydroguard
6/16 - Watered plants with 6.2 pH nutrient water at 665 ppm
#1 - 55 oz water, 2.2 oz run off, 883 ppm, 6.0 pH
#2 - 48 oz water, 6.4 oz run off, 897 ppm, 5.9 pH
#3 - 64 oz water, 15.5 oz run off, 802 ppm, 5.9 pH
Didn't go as I expected. This was likely due to my overdoing the topping and Fimming. I don't think I let the plants recover long enough from those procedures and got them into flowering a little too soon. It seems to have significantly reduced the yield.
