This will be my second grow outdoors, Ontario, Canada. Starting with 5x Blueberry OG seeder from Barney's Farms, and 3 random bag seeds. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The plan is to have 4 healthy plants outside by May long weekend. (The random bag seeds will stay inside) I am using minimal tech and lighting, and trying to keep my grow cost as low as possible. TO START: I am using 2 x 39W T5 white lights, and 2 x 75W full spectrum LED panels. I lined a large Rubbermaid tub with reflective thermal blanket, and added 2 small USB fans on one side for air flow. I sprouted in PRO-MIX Organic potting soil with MyocActive, in 2L nursery pots. The soil is apparently self-feeding for 3 months, so I will not feed until transplant to outdoors. The plan is to transplant 4 x Blueberry OG into 10Gal fabric pots early May, and into PRO-MIX BX Mycorrhyzae, and keeping it organic using Gaia Green 4-4-4 All Purpose Organic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 3 random bag seeds will be an indoor project where I experiment making some bonsai trees. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 100% germination, all seeds popped including my mystery bag seeds (bag seeds are going to be kept inside and used for a bonsai experiment). I pinched a tap root of one of the Blueberry OG seeds accidentally, and killed it. Oops. My goal this summer is to grow 2 lbs for under 200.

Home made grow box using a big Rubbermaid container, wire, 2 full spectrum and 2 flourescent cheap-o lights from Amazon. 2 small fans. The shiny liner is an emergency thermal blanket from a survival kit. The lights are pretty hot, but nothing I can do.

These guys are really taking off! Bigger every morning. I was worried that my temperatures are quite high, but they don't seem to mind it. In fact they are thriving.

Going into week 4 the plants are looking fat and healthy. Stalky and short with dense veg. I lowered the pots from the lights by about 2-3". My goal is to begin topping and LST this week. UPDATE: Topped, defoliated, main-lined, and cloned, day 28. Going into week 5 of veg a little concerned. Did I cut off too much, too late?

I just topped, main-lined, and defoliated. The stem is about the thickness of a pencil, and the nodes are very tightly packed. The reason I waited so long to top was because I wanted to clone the cuttings and give them to a friend. My question is, did I wait too long to top?

You are good. Summer solstice is June 22, so lots of time for growth before flower is triggered outdoors. Im in Ontario and mine will be topped for first time next week. I like to top at 3rd node of true leaves and then a few days later defol, then top again for the mainline a few days later to stress them less. Mainlining provides better structure for outdoor imho. Cheers!

Going into week 5 topped and main lined. I accidentally broke one limb one one of the plants. Oh well, it will fill in. I am trying to turn the tops into clones, but after 2 days they aren't looking so good. We'll see I am slowly training the one bonsai, and will start shaping the other 2 this week. All 3 bag seeds are showing signs of pre-flowers, so I should be able to sex them this week, hopefully. 3 more weeks until I move these plants outdoors, maybe 2 weeks until I start climatizing them. Very excited for this year's grow.

Hey guys, I'm still really new to sexing my plants. This is only my second time. Can anyone tell me if these are male or female? Or is it too early to tell? I cant see any balls yet!🙏 Plant 1 is a little further along than plant 2. I know the pictures are kind of blurry. Thanks

Hey copy cat Im growing blueberry og too :) Erm unfortunatly it is abit early I mean I would guess its female but would be a wild guess usually after the lights have been switched for a few days you will know. What you can do if you unsure and you really need to know and dont mind stressing her abit you can switch the light cycle wait for it to show its sex and then put back on 18/6 it will take a few weeks but if you really need to know you need to know and i understand the reason behind it too as nobody wants to waste money on males unless they are breeding lol best of luck bro your doing great anyway next time grow a different strain and dont copy me 😂😂😂 Only joking grow what you want hahaha

I've been doing lots of chopping, trying to get some nice thick main stems before I move my plants outside. In hindsight, I should have cut down to 3 nodes, and not 2. It was a little too aggressive and I would have liked the extra stems. I have been turning my trimmings into clones. My first try into potting soil was a fail. Second try I am using rockwool and a modified grow dome, and they seem to be healthy so far (day 3). As of now, I have 12 plants total in my grow box, including the 5 clones. It is getting pretty tight in there!! To recap, that's 4 x Blueberry OG from Barney's Farms, 3 random bag seeds, and 5 clones. (Spoiler alert, more clones and seedling to come!) 2 weeks until I start moving outside.

So exciting, definitely moving my plants outside this week!! It is May long weekend coming up, or as we say in Ontario, May-24! I've got lots of "side projects" going with bag seeds and clones, but my main focus is still the Blueberry OG from Barney's. I might trade one plant with a friend, so stand by on that. Tons of trimming and cutting, and therefore tons of new growth. The plants are a little behind where I'd like to be, but that's fine. I know how fast they start to grow once they're outside. I love this time of year so much. NOTE: One thing i have learned this year, among other things, is that you can clone your trimmings/cuttings, and turn them into more plants. If you have 4 seeds, top twice, you should have about 20 clones.. minus whatever dies. I have a lot of friends who don't buy feminized seeds, so giving out feminized clones makes me feel like a rock star.

Aahhh... the plants are finally outside!.. So exciting. It is May long weekend here in Canada, so that means the girls are ready for their new home in the back yard. I have topped each plant 3-4 times now, so I hope to see lots of new stems and lateral growth. I was aiming for about 18-20 node sites each, that will eventually turn into main colas. I will continue with LST to keep the plants nice and wide and bushy. I hope to be transplanting into 10 gal fabric pots some time this week. I will be using: BOKASHI PRO-GRO (Fermented Fertilizer) IRON EARTH (Soil Re-Mineralizer) PRO-MIX BX (Mycorrhyzae) GAIA GREEN A (All-purpose 4-4-4) GRO 4 ORGANICS (Earthworm Castings) PERLITE pH DOWN OPTI-CAL MAG (Calcium/Magnesium) Keeping it 100% organic this year!! And the 2 other plants in smaller pots are bag seeds, so I am watching them closely. There is also another bag seed I am keeping indoors as a bonsai tree.

Is there a way to change or amend the stats at the top of your grow page? I am switching growing mediums and a few other things, moving from indoors to outdoors, from Pro-Mix Organic to Pro-Mix BX. I can change and modify everything else, but not soil "type" or brand. Cheers

Week 8 already?? We took a very cold hit out here inn Ontario, right around May long weekend, when everybody does their planting and gardening.. I had to take my plants in overnight for 3 or 4 nights. Lots of stress, yellow leaves, spots. And I feel like I'm a little behind, there was probably zero vegetative growth for about a week. But I am finally seeing new growth after transplanting, and they look like they are ready to explode. I have also been working on my 3 bag seeds. So far only one is a bonsai tree. Stay tuned.

The plants are responding very well to the hot days and the new growing medium. Tons of bright green new growth every day. Gaia Green will now be my new go-to nutrient. All I have to worry about is my water pH, and that's it!! I am easing up on the LST. The base of the plants have nearly filled the bottom of the pots, and are ready to start focusing energy on vertical growth now. They are smelling great and I can't wait for harvest! Looks like everything is going to be on schedule.

I think Chuck should refrain from giving "advice", what he wrote is some of the most ridiculous stuff I have ever read regarding cannabis. Cannabis does not have eyes, can not make decisions based on what is going on around it; due to not having a brain, is not devious towards the cultivator to prevent being pulled out and what the wind has to do with anything, I just don't know. Also, I can assure you, cannabis prefers warm and mild over cold and rainy. Defoliating your plants will just reduce their vigour, resulting in slower growing and smaller plants due to the lack of energy production caused by losing the leaves. Your picture is not the best for determining the sex, but it does seem to be growing balls in the tip, a sure sign of maleness. You need to look at the junction of the stem with a branch/leaf area, this is where primordia/pre-flowers appear first. If you are keen, have a look at my diary "cannabis conundrums" and in week 7 you will find pictures of male and female primordia as well as pictures of hermaphrodite flowers. These may help you to identify what is happening with your bag seed. There are also many other interesting pictures of weird things cannabis plants are capable of. Growing bag seed presents a few problems - unknown genetics, are usually the result of hermaphrodite plants, can be either male or female, but are most likely to be hermaphrodites themselves, as they carry dominant genetics for being so. Using any pollen from a hermaphrodite will just breed a line of hermaphrodites, you will not get feminised seeds, making bag seeds a very risky and poor choice if you are limited in the amount of plants that you can grow. Far, far better to buy feminised seeds from reputable breeders with known genetics. Or regular males if you are interested in breeding. Hope this helps,............ Organoman.

Quick summary going into wk 11 (10?).. We had a very bad storm here, high winds and hail the size of marbles.. the girls took a beating. thankfully they seem to like it rough, and are responding really well. As of writing this, they've grown about 2" vertically in the last 24 hrs... It has also been unusually cold and rainy here, not much heat or sunshine. And they love it. I am making Bokashi "tea", which is a fermented fertilizer, but it's been so wet that I have not had to water my plants in over a week. Thankfully my Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4 is slowly releasing all that organic poop nutrients into my plants. Last year i would have been worried about feeding them, now I can just sit back and let it rain. (Unfortunately, i believe rainwater is pretty high pH where I am, so I am not able to control that.. But what plant doesn't love rainwater?...) We are also expecting night time temps to drop to lows of 9 deg C this week. (48 deg F) But they seem to be powering through it. Cheers again to Barney's Farm and their super seeds. Highly recommend, would buy again. What else.. Oh, I think one of my "bag seeds" is male.. or a hermie. I have no clue, so i might just sepukku it... I posted the question but nobody is answering :( And one of my Barneys Blueberry OGs are a little smaller than the other 3. Not sure what I did different, but she seems to be pulling ahead and catching up with her sisters. I feel like this is going to be a very successful year. If anybody has actually read this gibberish... thanks, cheers, and happy growing. 👽👍

I was a little lazy on the updates last week. The girls are looking fantastic this week. I top dressed them with Gaia Green 4-4-4 a few days ago and they are exploding! They are still growing a bit more than an inch per day (about 8-9 incher per week). I am a little worried they might get too big. I live near 2 high schools, and have seen a few drones fly over.. So i need my plants to be easy to move, if necessary. It has been raining A LOT here, so I think I only watered my plants 3 times in the entire month of June... Hopefully it clears up this month. I am also noticing the very first signs of buds; little white hairs sticking out of the nodes. Very exciting. It also looks like my bag seed bonsai is showing female pre-flowers, but I don't want to get excited yet. Still too early to tell on that one. And, I have also been adding a tablespoon of black strap molasses to my water bucket before watering. Not sure if it's making a difference, but whatever I'm doing seems to be working great. Overall I am very pleased with how they are growing and I hope they continue to thrive right to the end of fall.

Week 14! Or technically week 13, because germination took 12 hrs, not a week.. The weather is crap. Cold, windy, and cloudy. But luckily the girls are still doing great. I am definitely concerned about moisture and mildew in the upcoming months. Node spacing is definitely tightening up, first signs of buds, so I will probably see some crowns soon. Nothing important to note... no feeding or anything this week. Another great week of growth. I can not wait 2 months until harvest. Now is the waiting game. If you just read this, you are awesome. The girls are still deciding whether they want to flower or veg.. Still no crowns yet, but definitely getting some white hairs at the nodes. The tallest plant is 41" as of now. Starting to get too big! I accidentally let them get way too dry, I thought I might lose one plant, but it perked right back up. I probably still killed all my microbes in my soil that i've been trying so hard to cultivate.. oh well, lesson learned. I am feeding them again in a couple days. Not sure if I'll do all purpose 4-4-4 or if i will do 50/50 with some flowering nutrients. I kinda want them to stop growing "up" and start growing nuggets. They smell fantastic. I am way past the half way point, so now is just a waiting game. This is so much fun, and I am just having such a successful year considering I'm only growing 4 plants, outdoors. I love Canada.

Buds are growing huge, two plants are taller than I am. I have been dealing with white powdery mildew. I am using Lost Coast Plant Therapy and having great results. My girls seem to be mildew-free/ My lower leaves are really turning yellow quickly, faster than I would like. I have been supplementing fish fertilizer for a little extra nitrogen, and I've been using Cal Mag every time I water. From what I understand, because the plants and buds are so large, the plant is rapidly pulling nitrogen from the fan leaves and transporting it all to the tops of the plants. Everything else is looking great and I think I have fixed the problems.

Ok, all caught up. I haven't done an update in almost 6 weeks. I've been so busy. Lots of picture updates! First of all, there have been flashlights in my back yard, so I am going to have to start bringing them inside for the night soon. It's been on the news that kids are taking pictures and staking out plants already. Not good. The Lost Coast Plant Therapy is still working great for the powdery mildew. The fish fertilizer is slowing the yellowing leaves, but they are still turning yellow. I think i will be ok, I am not too worried. I am about to do my last feeding of the year after writing this. I will be giving them a heavy Gaia Green Power Bloom dose, and some bat guano. They are smelling and looking great, and I cant believe how fast the buds are growing. I'd say 4-5 weeks to go, tops, hopefully sooner.

Ok, missed a couple weeks of updates again.. But ya!! You read that right.. 25 weeks baby. and 2 weeks to go. Started in early April and ready to chop these mothers down! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, due to certain "circumstances", I've been bringing my girls inside for the last week or so. What a pain in the ass. My leaves are turning yellow a little too fast for my liking.. but everyone else i know who is growing is having the same problem. This summer has been cold, windy, wet... then hot, dry, humid.. then now back to cold, wet, rainy, windy, and humid. Not ideal growing conditions at all. I have been battling powdery mildew, wind, black mold, Cal Mag, nitrogen deficiencies, high school kids trying to steal, etc..... I have 2 weeks, tops, left before harvest. It is going to be a photo finish. The next week is supposed to be very humid and wet and windy... Perfect, right?! Thank god for Lost Coast Plant Therapy, it has "cured" my mildew problem for now. And shoutout to Bob's Grow Mart in Thorold Ontario for the supplies and advise this summer. I'm sure everything will be OK, I will probably start harvest in about 10-12 days. I can not wait... I have personally never seen buds this big in real life, I am so excited. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: [Sept 22] We have been getting tons of rain here and I am very worried about mold and mildew.. It is supposed to finally clear up tomorrow morning. I checked with a microscope and was surprised to see 95-100% milky crystals and maybe 3-5% amber! So I am almost ready for harvest. I bought some Advanced Nutrients Flawless Finish today and will flush for the next 10 days. I am in my final stretch, here we go! Cheers to everybody else on their grows!

Week 24, Day 182 The weather continues to be wet and rainy and very windy. I've lost 2 branches to wind and 2 branches to bud rot. I am so done with this summer and this grow. I am moving the plants into the garage every night and it is such a pain in the ass. I have also been flushing with Flawless Finish so my pots are HEAVY.. It's a good workout I guess. Daytime temps are on the lower side, today was 16'C (or 60'F). Very windy and my plant is very top heavy. The cooler temperature is causing the buds to darken and turn purple-ish. And somehow some of the trichomes are turning purple. I am still very worried about bud rot and mildew. I have seen small patches of black mold here and there and immediately chopped them and sprayed with alcohol. My trichs are 100% milky and 5-20% amber (and some purple!). I am planning on flushing until October 6-6, then putting them in the garage for 48-72 hrs darkness, that is if time and mildew allow it. These plants have been a part of my life for half a year now, and it would be a shame to pick them too early. They are still looking better and better every day.. Absolutely dripping with trichomes and terpenes. The smell is very strong, especially at night. They have a strong diesel, sour, dank kushy smell, with notes of berry and citrus. Lots going on and I can't wait for the finished product.. Hopefully I'll have everything in jars in a couple weeks. Until then I will be so stressed..

Week 25, and it is a photo finish. I was able to flush for 12 days, just under 2 weeks. Close enough for me. It has been raining and 90% RH almost every day. I had to pull the plug on 3 out of 4 plants. So on Oct 4th, day 189, I have 3 plants hanging in the garage. I am using a dehumidifier to keep the RH at around 55%, with several fans for airflow. I am aiming for a 7 to 10 day dry, but it is a little warm in the garage (22'F or 72'F). The 4th plant (the runt) is still not ready. It is about a week behind the other plants, but the buds look fat and frosty. This is the home stretch, the last 6 months have all come down to this next week. Saying a prayer to the Canna Gods.

Overall very happy with the results. 2 LB yield and it smells and tastes great. Two thumbs up to Barney's Farm. I gave it a 7 because I regret not going 100% Kush.👍

Finally, 25 weeks i believe... Mold, mildew, bud rot, rain, humidity, crazy wind, frost. Somehow these girls turned out just fine and I am so proud of the end result. I am late posting, everything is pretty much all cured up and ready to smoke. Just finished making some stocking-stuffer jars for friends and family for Christmas. It was interesting to see the different phenotypes from each plant. One was named Average Girl, medium size, medium height. Then there was Big Bitch. She was the tallest and had the skinniest nugs. Next was Dolly.. She had the fattest cones of the 4.. a little shorter than Average Girl. And last was Runt... She was about 2 weeks behind her sisters and about a foot shorter, but she did not get any mold or mildew, and her buds were ginormous. I let her go an extra 2-3 weeks later than her sisters, bringing her into the garage every night at 7 pm, and then waking up at 7 am to put her outside. By far, my favorite plant was Runty. She finished up so nice. Overall smell is Kushy blueberry diesel cat piss with a hint of citrus. Wouldn't grow this strain again just because it did not handle the weather well, and I like a kushier final product, on the taste and nose. That being said, I am a very happy guy right now. Over and out.

27 C outside? WTF? It’s like 6 C for daytime high with forecast overnight of -4 C here in Alberta. Oh well, even with these lows the plants are still growing. I think in general the low overnight temps slows the plants metabolism and autos end up living longer outdoors than when kept warm indoors. I was thinking about cloning as you’re doing, but I need to research that more before I try it for first time. Your stuff is looking good. Cheers.

@Northern_Ent, It has been very warm here! But 27 degrees was the temp of my grow box inside. Check out Mr. Canuck on youTube for cloning tips! Good luck with your grow eh!👽👍

bro that unknown plant looks to be flowering already. it looks like it has pistils sticking out of callyxes, look closer. check lower nodes, if you see white hairs just like I think I see in that photo then it's a female.
