meneerGreen Chocolope in 1 x 1 x 2 meter tent Fellow growers, my big tent (1 x 1 x 2 meters) is ready for use again, so weโ€™re getting back to it. This time, weโ€™re putting in Chocolope from Hy-seeds, in collaboration with Greenhouse seeds, I believe. Here are the specifications of the strain, Strain: Chocolope Genotype: 95% Sativa/ 5% Indica (OG Chocolate Thai x Canalope Haze) Flowering time: 8 - 9 weeks Sex: Feminized Yield: 450 - 500 grams/m2 (indoor) 800 - 1000 grams/m2 (outdoor) Height indoor: 100 - 150 cm Height outdoor: 150 - 200 cm THC: 20% Flavor: chocolate, fruit, sweet. Effect: Energetic, giggly, happy, relaxed, social, uplifting. Seed company: Greenhouse/ Hy-Seeds Iโ€™m really curious about this strain, especially since itโ€™s almost 100% Sativa and has some Haze in it, plus I find the flowering time quite short, but weโ€™ll see how it goes at the end of the grow. I'm definitely happy to be starting again in the big tent; I've set it up a bit differently this time, so I'm curious how it turns out. 2-7-2021, Today at 14:00 I laid the Chocolope seeds to germinate using the coffee filter method. I put 5 seeds to germinate, and the 4 most similar ones will go into the tent. If all 5 germinate, Iโ€™ll see if I can find a spot for the 5th Chocolope because I donโ€™t like wasting. 2-9, The ladies have been planted/sown and placed under the fluorescent light (2 x T5 24 watt 6400K), even though they are under one fluorescent tube in this case and about 2 cm apart. The temperature in the cabinet is between 24 and 27 degrees, and I have a small fan in there for some air movement. I control the temperature a bit by opening or closing the cabinet further. Iโ€™ve set the ladies to an 18/6 schedule right away, unlike other times when I first gave them 24 hours of light. I want to see how this turns out. 2-11, the first lady has shown herself above the soil; she had the longest root when planted, so youโ€™d think a longer root gives an advantage compared to what they say, that as soon as you see a little root, you should plant/sow the seed immediately. 2-12, today 3 more ladies are above the soil; now weโ€™re waiting for the last one. Iโ€™m fine with 4, but Iโ€™d prefer to have 5 growing. If something goes wrong with one, at least I have a backup. Iโ€™m giving the ladies some water with a spray bottle (if needed) with some X Rooting from Biogreen, a nutrient I got from Hy-Seeds, and Iโ€™m going to test it on these ladies since I can no longer get my original nutrient (Omnipotent). Iโ€™m currently testing 3 types of nutrients, and Iโ€™ll stick with the best one. If nothing appeals to me, Iโ€™ll look into other nutrients, but thatโ€™s a concern for later. 2-13, I added some soil to the growing pots; 1 plant is still not above the soil, but Iโ€™m not giving up. Iโ€™ll keep it moist; who knows, it might still come up, and otherwise, I hope I donโ€™t lose any of the other 4. 2-14, I had added some water to the growing tray to raise the humidity, which worked, but the water soaked the mat, and the pots started soaking up too. I took the mat out of the water; the pots were a bit wetter than I wanted, but the ladies didnโ€™t mind, just let them dry for a few days. The rest of the week, I gave them deacidified water with some X Rooting now and then. One lady got some burnt tips, probably from the light touching it, but otherwise, theyโ€™ve grown nicely. The temperature averages 25 to 26 degrees with the light on and 21 degrees with the light off, and the humidity is at its lowest 40% and at its highest 70%. Most of the time, the humidity was between 55% and 65%, which is just fine.

meneerGreen Week 1 (19-2 to 25-2) Watering: 1.4 liters Temperature: 25 to 21 (light on, light off) RH 68 to 52% (highest, lowest). EC: 0.4 pH: 6.0 The ladies received about 50 ml of water per day from 19-2 to 24-2 along with a bit of X-Rooting from Biogreen because I'm going to give this nutrient line to the Chocolope this round as part of trying out different nutrient lines. When watering, I first gave them pH-adjusted water with a small measuring cup (1/2 liter) and then a bit of X-Rooting with a spray bottle, at a ratio of 1 ml to 1 liter of water, totaling about 50 ml. On 24-2, I gave them 24 hours of light because they were going into the tent on 25-2, and I was going to apply a different schedule there. Inside, they went from midnight to 6:00 AM in the dark, and in the tent, they will be in the dark from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM because I want them to be in the dark during the warmest time so that they are under the sun during the coldest time. Since they had 24 hours of light on 24-2, they also received water twice. On 25-2, today I transferred them to the tent. I had been warming up the tent for a few days, especially the soil they would be standing in, which came from the cold shed, and I wanted it to be a comfortable 18 to 20 degrees before transplanting. I placed a heat mat underneath and connected it to a thermostat, so it was exactly those values during transplanting. The tent itself was 26 degrees, and the soil was 19 degrees. It did get a bit cooler in the tent afterward because I set the heater on a timer to turn on when the lights go out, and also because I have the lamp set to 60%, the temperature dropped back to 22 degrees. The RH was nice at 63%, but thatโ€™s also partly because the extractor fan isnโ€™t running since I set it to 26 degrees. So I'm thinking about setting the lamp to 70% and maybe hanging it a bit higher. It's currently hanging at 55 cm (according to the specified lamp specifications) at 60%, and I don't want to burn the ladies. I gave the ladies a little bit of water (250 ml per lady) because I wanted to test the Biogreen schedule, so I took a liter of tap water (I had already prepared a small 20 liters yesterday with a heating element and a bubble stone) at 20 degrees and added the ingredients mentioned in the schedule, in this case, X-Rooting, bio1 grow, Calgel (1x per week), silica power (bac), and biozym, all in the right proportions. I did make a small mistake; I forgot to adjust the EC a bit, so the EC came out at 2.1, which is a bit on the high side at the beginning of the grow. The pH came out at 6.3, and I donโ€™t think thatโ€™s too bad. I didnโ€™t adjust anything further because it was just a little bit of water per lady, and since I poured it a bit on the outside of the 38-liter air pot, I think they wonโ€™t have much trouble with it. The pots were moist enough, and if they need water in the first few weeks, they will only get water with at most X-Rooting and biozym and silica power. I will adjust that to pH 6.0 to 6.3 if necessary with lemon kick from Plagron because, after all, itโ€™s a bio line. So all in all, thereโ€™s still a few things to adjust this week, and then weโ€™re off to the races.

meneerGreen Week 2 (26-2 to 4-3) Watering: 750 ml per plant. Temperature: 27.5 at 15 (lights on, lights off) RH 65 to 37% (highest, lowest). EC: 0.7 pH: 6.2 Since they haven't really had much water yet (Actually just once this week), the EC and pH values are from the last time. They aren't getting any nutrients yet, just X-Rooting, biozym, and Calgel at this moment. They are also getting silica power, but I forgot that this time. Additionally, I adjusted the pH with lemon kick since it's a bio line after all. Added 2ml X-Rooting, 0.5 ml Calgel, 1 ml Biozym to 2 liters of water and some pH- to get the pH to 6.2. Once the nutrients are added, it probably won't be necessary anymore, but I'll see then.

EC: 0.6 pH: 5.8 Added, 2 ml Bio1 grow, 6 ml X-Rooting, 5 ml Biozym, 0.5 ml Silica power, and further I adjusted it with Lemon kick from Plagron. The temperature is an average, the lowest temperature measured with the lights on was 26 degrees and the highest was 31.5. The RH is on average about 45%, not very high but that will be fine once they get a bit more foliage, Iโ€™m not worried about that. The growth is going well and they show no deficiencies although I have seen a few leaf tips that indicate overfeeding, and that doesnโ€™t really surprise me because I had already given a tiny bit of nutrients (not much) but still just a bit too much, I think thatโ€™s because I also give some additives and that the nutrients are just a bit too much. So for now just adjusted water without additives. Itโ€™s also a Bio line in terms of nutrients so Iโ€™ll have to see how that turns out, I do have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Bio nutrients, somehow I always have a problem with Bio nutrients, even though I stick to the schedule. 9-3, Today I topped the ladies and removed the lower shoots and leaves. I have the lamp hanging at 65 cm which gives a lux of.........

EC: 0.6 pH: 6.2 For the first 4 days, I only gave pH-adjusted water, on the 5th day I added 1 ml of Silica power, and in the last two days, I added 2 ml of Bio1 grow, 0.2 ml of Silica power, and 4 ml of Biozym, all in 4 liters of water, then adjusted to pH 6.2, the EC is then 0.6. 18-3, Today I set up the SCROG net, I have one for each pot so that if needed, I can easily take the pot out of the tent to remove leaves and shoots in most cases. I have the pots on a sort of sliding rods so I only have to lift them out of the tent and donโ€™t have to go into the tent. The pots are 38 liters and quite heavy, so Iโ€™m making it as easy as possible for myself.

EC: 0.6 pH: 6.0 Nutrients are the same as last week, I don't see any nutrient deficiency, so I'll keep it like this until I notice they're getting hungry. This week I added 0.2 ml Silica power (B.A.C.), 4 ml Bio1 grow, 2 ml Calgel (they get this once a week), 4 ml Biozym, 3 ml pH- (Lemon kick), which results in an EC of 0.6 and a pH of 6.0. The lights-off temperature is a bit on the low side, but since I'm using a heat mat, the soil temperature is 20 degrees, so that should somewhat compensate. The ladies aren't bothered by it and are doing quite well. I've already pruned quite a bit of leaf under the shelf, and the first shoots are already tied down again. The light is at 80% of its capacity and hangs 65 cm above the ladies. Next week I'll grab the lux meter; I'm curious to see what it reads with this light.

One day they get Calgel, I prepare for one day (5 liters in this case) and then the ratio is 0.4 ml Silica power, 4 ml Biozym, 4 ml Calgel, 2 ml Bio1 grow, 4 ml pH-, resulting in the same EC and pH values. Furthermore, this week I pruned the last shoots and leaves that are no longer needed, the flowering is already going well so maybe Iโ€™ll tie down some more shoots but thatโ€™s about it, I started giving X-Bloom at the end of this week and starting next week they will also get Bio2 bloom and then I will have completely switched to bloom nutrients. After that, I adjust the pH to 6.0 to 6.2 with lemon kick from Plagron, next week I will keep the pH a bit higher, around 6.4 to 6.5, because Iโ€™m completely switching to bloom nutrients now. Overall, things are going pretty well at the moment and Iโ€™m satisfied with the Biogreen nutrients, I hope it stays that way. The light is still at 80% of its power, but in 1 to 2 weeks I will set it to 100%, Iโ€™m not lowering the light but letting the plants grow towards it, maybe in the last few weeks Iโ€™ll see if I lower it a bit more, but that depends on the distance to the light at that time.

EC: 0.9 pH: 6.4 Added this week per liter: 0.2 ml Silica power, 0.33 ml Biozym, 0.6 ml X-Bloom, 1.33 ml Bio2 Bloom. Once a week Calgel 0.3 ml per liter. Iโ€™ve discovered that I have a thrips problem in my tent, indeed a bit late but I ordered some bugs anyway, I released them on 4-5 (predatory mites) and I also have nematodes for the soil which I added with the nutrient water. The damage is currently mainly limited to one plant, the other three are (still) not affected or have less trouble, so I hope to keep it that way and limit the damage further. Starting next week, I will be adding PK according to the Biogreen schedule, and they will get that until 1 to 2 weeks before harvest, so about 3 to 4 weeks. The lamp is now at 100%, and 60 cm from the tops; I will lower it a bit in the coming weeks.

This week I started adding PK according to the Biogreen schedule. The thrips problem doesn't seem to be spreading, in fact, I haven't seen a single one after a careful inspection, and that's a good sign, so it seems to be helping and I'm happy about that. Other than that, things are going pretty well, I do find the ladies a bit on the light side, but that could be on me or this strain is just lighter by nature. I'll poke the fertometer in next week, I'm following the schedule but the EC is still only 1.2 and that includes the starting EC of 0.4 from the tap water here. So I'll keep an eye on it, the buds are starting to get quite firm, so that's good at least. They still have about 4 weeks to go, so we'll see what happens; otherwise, I might just add a bit more nutrients.

meneerGreen Week 13 (May 14 - May 20) 5th week of flowering. Watering: 6 liters per plant. Temperature: 23.7 to 13.2 (lights on, lights off) RH 60 to 48% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.1 pH: 6.3 Added per liter this week: 0.25 ml Silica power, 0.35 ml Biozym, 0.67 ml X-Bloom, 1.10 ml Bio2 bloom, 0.5 ml PK, and 0.5 ml Calgel (Calgel once a week). I haven't seen any more thrips, the ladies are still a bit light in color but they seem to be getting slightly darker, maybe that's just because I want them to. I also think one lady is a bit ahead of the rest; I'll check that under the microscope this week. I didn't give them water for one day; I'll check with the fertometer next week to see if it indicates green or if it still shows orange. I did remove quite a bit of leaf, saw quite a few buds between the leaves and I want them to get some sunlight too. Overall, it wasn't unnecessary; there's a good amount of light space opened up in the canopy. Also, my pH meter has given up, I already have a new one on order. Luckily, I write everything down, including the nutrients added + pH- so I feel confident to skip measuring once in a while.

meneerGreen Watering: 6 liters per plant. Temperature: 25.4 to 14.2 (lights on, lights off) RH 59 to 49% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.1 pH: 6.3 Added per liter this week, 0.25 ml Silica power, 0.35 ml Biozym, 0.67 ml X-Bloom, 1.10 ml Bio2 bloom, 0.5 ml PK, and 0.5 ml Calgel (Calgel once a week). At the beginning of the week, I checked the trichomes of the lady I thought was a bit ahead; I did see a few amber ones, but I saw those in the other ladies too. It was mainly on the top bud, and I suspect it might be because the lamp is hanging too close since I noticed the top flowering hairs were already brown while the rest weren't. So, I raised the lamp to 60 cm instead of the 50 cm it was hanging at. At the end of the week, I looked at the trichomes again but saw little change, so I think Iโ€™ll make it to the full 8 weeks. In the last week, theyโ€™ll only get pH-balanced water. The fertometer is now green/orange, so after I slightly increased the EC, it has improved a bit. The color of the leaves, on the other hand, hasnโ€™t changed much, but weโ€™re almost there, so Iโ€™m not going to stress about it anymore. Itโ€™s getting quite colorful in the tent ๐Ÿ˜

meneerGreen Week 15 (28-5 to 3-6) 7th week of flowering. Watering: 5 liters per plant. Temperature: 28.6 to 14.6 (lights on, lights off) RH 70 to 49% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.1 pH: 6.3 This week has been pretty uneventful, the temperature has gone up a bit some days above 30 degrees, but with just 1 week to go (I estimate), Iโ€™ll just keep an eye on it. Iโ€™m not really feeling like raising the extractor now, with the lights on the RH is around 49% between the plants, so Iโ€™ll just ride out this last week unless the RH needs to go much higher, but Iโ€™ll see about that. The nutrients have stayed the same, I have a few days left and then Iโ€™ll switch to pH'd water for the last week. Thereโ€™s already some amber, but I think Iโ€™ll harvest one plant each day when I start, because the last one seems to be lagging a bit, so that last lady will get an extra 3 days. Iโ€™ll just keep an eye on it.

Happy Harvest Day!

meneerGreen Week 16 (4-6 to 10-6) 8th week of flowering. Watering: 5 liters per plant. Temperature: 30.1 to 16.9 (lights on, lights off) RH 74 to 45% (highest, lowest). EC: 1.1 (first few days) pH: 6.3 (first few days) 5-6, I harvested the first plant, it had enough amber and in my opinion, it's the biggest of the 4 ladies. The yield didn't disappoint me, wet weight of buds 362 grams and 77 grams of trim waste and fluffy stuff, so 439 grams wet from the first lady. I cut this lady around midnight together with the missus, that's why I weighed her only on 6-6 (date on the photos). From 6-6, they only received pH-balanced water, and from 9-6, they didn't get any water at all. 10-6, Today I cut the 2nd lady, and tomorrow I'm going to cut the rest so I don't have everything at once. We're already spending about 2 hours per plant with the two of us. This lady produced 361 grams of buds and 89 grams of trim waste and fluffy stuff, wet mind you, totaling 450 grams. Before I started cutting the 2nd lady (together with the wife), I quickly took some photos. We also finished with this lady only after midnight, which is why I weighed her on 11-6. I do miss a photo of a weighing; I don't know if I forgot it or if I did something wrong, but I definitely miss a photo. 11-6, (so actually the beginning of week 17, week 9 of flowering) I (together with the missus) cut the rest. Lady 3 produced 389 grams of buds and 77 grams of trim waste, totaling 466 grams. And then I thought, it can't get much more than this, but lady 4 managed to add a little extra and brought in 401 grams of buds and 76 grams of trim waste and fluffy stuff, which totals 477 grams. Total score this round (wet weight) 1530 grams of buds and 319 grams of trim waste and fluffy stuff, which totals 1832 grams. I'm curious about what will be left when it's dry. I can already tell you what the dry weight is of lady 1 because she is already dry. Here it comes, 91 grams of buds and 22 grams of trim waste and fluffy stuff, totaling 113 grams. I'm not dissatisfied with this. I had already calculated how many watts I used from the lamp. I have a Spiderfarmer sf4000, which according to the specifications delivers 450 watts. I also included the growing phase under the T5 in the calculation, and I come to a total consumption of 332 watts, which could mean that I'm at least above 1 gram per watt, and I would be satisfied with that, assuming this strain would yield 450 to 500 grams per mยฒ in indoor cultivation. But that's jumping ahead of the facts. In about 4 to 5 days with these drying conditions, I'll know for sure, and then you'll hear about it too. Furthermore, I want to mention that I find this a very nice forum to keep track of your cultivation. However, I think there are still a few improvements that could be made: 1) It would be nice, in my opinion, to be able to enter your actual watt consumption at harvest because you (I) don't have the lamp running at full power from start to finish and therefore don't consume the full 450 watts. 2) For the nutrients, you can only choose ml, ml/gal, and tsp/gal; I would appreciate it if you could also choose grams. I (and there will be others) work with powdered nutrients and weigh them out, and it's often indicated by the supplier in grams per liter. I hope this becomes possible in the future; otherwise, I can't fill in the amount of nutrients used for this powdered nutrient. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘ Addition to this report, the dry weight was 388 grams. Based on a consumption (lamp) of 332 watts, it comes to 1.2 grams per watt of buds. I'm satisfied with this cultivation; this was the first round with this lamp and nutrients, and I won't be using this nutrient anymore.

@Ferenc, Thanks mate, just a shame that I'm dealing with some trips at the moment and that they've caused a bit of damage, I hope the little critters do their job, luckily they only need about another 5 weeks so I hope I can keep them under control with this ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘
