GrowCNanswered grow question 3 years ago I would wait a little longer just so there is plant to attach another wire up higher. I put one down low like in your photo to hold the base of the stalk vertical. Then when you get to about the third node I start to train the top to grow mostly sideways until it nears the edge of the pot.
Plants can pull hard and I have not had good luck with wires stuck into potting soil holding well. Instead I put holes around the top of my pot (drill for plastic or soldering iron or hot nail to melt holes in fabric pots) and run wires from the pot to the plant. Unfortunately wiring to the rim of the pot means the wires can get in the way of watering later on.
