Day 40:
Spotted tiny flies buzzing around plants. I thought I could complete one grow without any trouble but I guess this is common for many growers so I should get used to it. After research I am sure those are fungus gnats. I am growing organic plus promoting fungal & bacterial growths by also keeping soil toplayer dark & moist through use of expanded clay pebbles even if I water not very often. This way I am attracting fungus gnats. So I decided setting up yellow stickers in the tent(to keep track of fungus gnats population) & adding fungus gnats larvae killing bacteria(B.t.i. = Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) to the irrigation water after a long period of not watering plants until topsoil is as dry as possible. Items are ordered & expected to arrive next week. Not many fungus gnats spotted so far I guess I acted fast enough to address this issue & maybe it's good to build up an organic toolbox to fight various pests. Otherwise the plants look all healthy & are stretching. I keep looking for information regarding this fungus gnats infestation.
Hi Mate,
Looking good ladies you have there.😎
I see this is your second Tatanka. I got one also but she became hermie in the last week of flowering.
Wanna ask if you do also suffered with this problem?
Greets
@Qutro, I reached out to them via grow diaries chat. Just open the Chat bottom right corner & type in "James" in the "Search Users ..." field. James with the RQS Logo is the one. This is also necessary if you want your diary approved by rqs seedbank.
@@MedicalCannabisCultivation,
Thnx for the fast answer. Really appriciate.
I have got the same full organic bio setup like you mantioned and totally agree what you said about CBD content and flowering. She is really nice plant overall.
I should inform RQS about this. Are they going to take in to considerstion that kind of reactions do you think?
@Qutro,
Thanks!
Yes I did have this problem. Its the only downside of this strain. This is my third time growing it & all 3 times they had slight hermie problems in early flowering but if you signal her to keep developing fem flowers by removing male pollen sacks & provide lots of light then she transitions back to normal. I guess Tatanka is very vulnerable to stress & reacts with hermaphroditism to those stressor levels. So it might be a good advice to be very gentle with her & keep conditions perfect. I reported this to RQS. You should get in touch with them as well so they know its a more widespread problem & they can try to fix it somehow because otherwise this strain has very good stats. High CBD, very quick flowering & develops strong when grown all organic. I will switch to Purplematic CBD next grow because I like the advantages of auto flowers but still have enough Tatanka seeds in the fridge.
