Performed my FIRST TRANSPLANT THIS WEEK. Babies were exactly 4 weeks into veg. Unfortunately I didn't have 3.5 gal fabric pots (wanted to specifically use fabric this grow) so I transplanted right into their 7gal homes. Definitely a little snug in my 2.5x2.5 😅. For the transplant I actually utilized Mykos root innoculant. Coated the transplant hole pretty well, and sprinkled onto the rootball. Roots looked great, perfectly thick and white, no rootbound issues to report!
The soil was actually cooked for about 3 weeks prior to the transplant, and by cook I just mixed FFOF (1.5 cu ft), 1 cup of Garden Lime (derived from dolomite lime, 99% or something), and 8qts (1 bag) of perilite. Let it all sit together to allow the lime to break down more nutrients in the soil. Prewatered soil day before transplant, then again right after transplant. Maybe going to get into a living soil solution for future reference? So much easier maintenance.
These babies have been fed a little Floralicious+ with every watering, "Recharge" once a week starting on the 3rd week (I haven't started brewing yet, just mixing straight into water as the last component), and a little pH down because my tap runs at 7.5. Basically able to eyeball at this point, but I do have a handy Dr. Meter pH pen verifying I stay within 6.3-6.5 pH for all waterings. I just use tap water that I fill gallon jugs with and leave out overnight.
These babies are getting thick, just as the reviews mentioned for this strain. The lights are also about 18in and on full veg blast so they aren't stretching too far which is making them thicker 😂. All in all, babies went through the transplant very well with minimal shock. They're loving life and I'm loving them!
Will look to top plants once a week probably until the end of veg (4 tops) and perform LST when they're taller.
Funny, GDP #1 seed had an issue releasing its shell. Those same problems are slightly apparently in some of the leaves as a twisting curl, just cool to watch genetics meet environment.
