Browning leaves? Did a soil slurry and dropped the water from 6.8 to 6.2. Does that mean it’s locking out? How should I go about fixing this? In peat pearlite and worm castings. Added about 6 cups of lime to the 20 gallons of soil thought that should have helped the ph?
I think it was more underfeeding than PH. But I did start watering more per time, so this could have activated some more lime in the soil. My bed is underfeeding tho since they darkened up 4 days after increasing to 5ml gro and 5ml cal mag per gallon.
Starting to see some possible PH issues/ nutrient deficiencies. Upped the feeding and saw some slight darkening, but think there may also be an underlying ph issue.
Had to back off the nutrients a bit since they started getting a bit too dark and would probably get nitrogen toxicity soon. Also trimmed them up and removed some lower branches and leaves.
Had an assortment of deficiencies that probably were linked to slightly alkali soil and watering ph. They havnt gotten worse and seem to be getting better now though.
The plants seem to be getting better, but I think there may be a new Ca deficiency in the back right plant. There were brown spots before and I’m not sure if they actually spread much if at all. Will have to keep an eye on it.
Is this nute burn or other deficiency? I did increase the feeding a bit. But also just came out of a calcium deficiency. Not sure if the one with brown edges was from before tho, I forgot to clip a couple leaves with brown spots
if it's burn, i'd guess potassium (K)
You'll want to make sure pH is in proper range and check runoff PPM, if you can, before making any drastic changes to fertilizer mix.
You are mostly soilless with some worm castings added? So, i guess i'd treat it as more soilless than a soil grow. if yo haven't ensure you get ~10% runoff waste water. maintains soil nute equilibrium.
7-9-5 is kinda concerning ratio for any plant. you will probably constantly run into issues with this ratio. 2-1-2 ratio is what you want - as does a majority of all plants. some boost p/k in bloom phase - once vege growth ceases or ramping up until that point. (vege growth = stems and leaves, and that continues for ~4 or more weeks after 12-12 bloom schedule starts)
So, check pH. Make sure it is ~5.8-6.5 ... while you don't want it swinging that much, if you keep it consistently at a value in that range, you'll find a happy zone for your nutes more easily. pH impacts rate of use differently for each nutrient.
Runoff PPM - this will *help* inform about concentration of nutes in soil. if it is sky high, you'll want to avoid feeding for an irrigation cycle or two. Your nutes look like they are for a hydro/soilless setup. That means the nutes are chelated and ready for use. stick to that 10% runoff or more with hydro nutes. you are kinda mixing two methods that don't necessarily create synergy together. the slow release worm castings/microbes they provide are just going to throw off the precision of your hydro nutrients in this context.
calculating PPM of your fertilizer mix can help too. Use the guaranteed analysis labels. Google "calculate PPM from fertilzer guaranteed analysis labels" or "PPM nutrient calculator" will likely work too. Beware of USA and international standardization differences with P/K. Each week i have a screenshot of my PPMs, if roughly similar ratios, should be fine. You'll want a mix adding up to 1.3-1.5EC (650-750ppm) in most cases.
Got behind on defoliation because I was sick. Hopefully can catch up on it soon. Also didn’t get them in the scrog net and the branches seem pretty thick to be bending right now not sure.
Getting a little nitrogen deficient. Didn’t really-check the feeding chart and noticed I was giving them like 1/2 the amount of nutrients they need. Going to up it to full strength (10ml/gal) next watering after giving them like 3/4 this time. If that doesn’t help I’ll increase it slightly again since they’re kinda bigger than the plants on the chart would be (4wk veg vs 8wk which I did with these plants)
Still about 2 weeks out I think. Humidity is a bit higher than I’d like (70%) but I have decent airflow and a 12” fan oscillating on the canopies and no signs of any bud rot. I have a dehumidifier going and it reads at 55% so I’m not sure if my hygrometer is off or the dehumidifier is reading low.
Started fox tailing a little at the end, but overall nice looking buds.
Ended up with a ton of small buds I’ll make into ice hash on top of the 556 grams total from all the plants.
@Canna96, planning on it Soon, starting to see some roots poking through the bottom. Wanted to let them fill in since I didn’t get the change last grow really.
