This stuff is very sticky. It was impossible to pull off all the fan leaves as I normally do at harvest because it would start to tear the buds... so I left them to trim off later... which will mean more work, but that's life. This is supposed to be a high CBD strain. ===================== I initially started out with an indoor and an outdoor version of this plant, but the indoor girl succumbed to white powdery mildew no matter my attempts to save her, and I didn't want her to infect other indoor plants so she had to go. The yield on the one outdoor plant more than made up for that though. So as far as growing goes.... all my plants started indoors and vegged under Kind K3 LED lighting... and the outdoor plant was moved out around the summer solstice to let mother nature take over.

Difficult diary because I combined things grown outdoors with things grown indoors and the diaries aren't really structured to do that. My intent was to compare indoor vs outdoor but there really is no comparison. The outdoor yield is substantially larger than what I was capable of growing in my relatively small tent (3.25' square). Also, I have no intention of actually consuming any of this for a few weeks while I cure the crop with Boveda packs and CVault containers... so I'm guessing what it tastes like based on stuff I've sampled. Same as for weighing this stuff. I don't see the point in weighing while it's "wet"... I'll put the weight in after it's actually dry and I've trimmed the buds down and they're ready for cure. ================ September 15 - finished trimming yesterday and when I weighed it all out.... it made me wonder why I grow plants indoors. 😳 The yield was close to exactly 10 ounces of buds. Pretty much stuffed a 4L (1/2 lb.) container. Sticky little devils too. Initially measured dry was about 58%. Boveda packs will take about a week to bring that up to 62% and then we'll cure it for at least a month. Yummy days ahead. There was 8.9 ounces of trim here... that being the stuff that you get too frustrated trying to save as small buds and everything else.... but all this stuff was washed... as opposed to stuff yanked off the plant immediately before/after harvest before washing.00

Grow Questions

As a general rule, should I cut off fan leaves that show abnormal growth... for example the RG's curling upwards or wilting. Most of the new growth from all the clones in this diary are growing normally - so are the fan leaves showing damage of various sorts better removed?

Hey there so Defoliation can be a good thing, but I wouldn't recommend cutting them now. Those twisted drooping leaves should hopefully pick up once your watering and nutes get on track. The plants aren't looking really bad so I'd leave those lights until the pop of fully dicoloered and clearly dead.

I'm using a Sun Hut Blackout grow tent which is 3'-3" square and a little over 6 feet tall. Most of these girls will eventually be moved outdoors for the summer (I have some questions about that)- but everyone will veg in the tent for at least another month. Those going outdoors will be moved into 5 gallon containers and the lucky girls remaining in the tent will be moved to 3 gallon containers to make sure they fit in the tent (still deciding on this).

Plants look great! I got mine off to an early start indoors and then gradually climatized them for the outdoors, enjoy the grow!

@sneal, ...ready to get serious starting this weekend when I'll move all that are going outdoors out, and flip the lights to flowering for the remaining indoor girls.

Hey there so with your leaf problem, I didn't think it looked to bad....was it too much wind, nutes, watering practices? I had a variety of leaf problems with my plants and usually they resolved themselves, except when bugs were involved. I think most people stand by removing leaves if they're completely beyond repair, or when they're older if they're blocking the light to other growth nodes.I thought I saw 1 extremely shriveled leaf in pic 6, if so, that leaf might be worth removing, just don't accidentally take any of the new growth with it. :) I hope they'll be growing like wildfire before too long. :)

@Experimentgreen, All the damage shown in the photos was present when the clones were acquired so the source isn't clear - but the new growth looks fine all around so I think I'm on track. I'm generally loathe to cut anything that isn't clearly dead so I'll probably leave everything for now except those shriveling SD things. In fact that whole branch at the bottom will eventually come off when she gets older and repotted so maybe it's all for the best to cut it now now since she was just topped yesterday. The girls will be repotted into their final homes middle of next week.

I was going to do 5 gallon smart pots but the store i went too made some good arguments regarding larger pot size such as less days of watering. Im not so sure now.. the 20 gallon pots are huge!!
dalemac

@Jamminbear, I want to try something larger than 5 gallons to experiment, but I still want to be able to pick the girl up and move her around - so I might try a couple 7 gallon pots for fun.

I m planning on doing the same and bring out the females around the June Soltice. I might go big and do a 20 gallon pot. hahehhe

@Jamminbear, hehe... I've never tried anything larger than a 5 gallon container. The upside is that it's easy to lift a 5 gal container to see how thirsty the plant is, which is something I've gotten used to (I've got fabric pots with handles this year so I'm eager to test them out). I was going to try and use one of those half oak barrel planters we have a couple of in the yard but my wife nixed that idea with much less interesting plants. Wouldn't be able to lift it anyway. Also allows me to control how much nutrients I give each plant too. These fabric pots are alleged to require more moisture. We shall see.

Following. What’s your room size please? That’s a stat that should be included in the template, don’t you agree?
dalemac
dalemac
@growdoctordc, I agree that stat should probably be included - at least for indoor grows. I actually wrote the response below before I figured out it wasn't a "reply". Cannabis might have something to do with that.... Newbie for growdiaries... been around the block for a few crops.

@dalemac wrote “Weather has been steady with morning fog followed by sunny low 80s daytime and high 50s night.” That’s perfect growing weather! I mean artisanal top shelf outdoor! Sorry to hear about the one casualty, but you are correct about making up for her with your outdoor harvest.

This is what I could come up with for genetic information for Raspberry Glue which is supposedly a high CBD strain... Lineage: Gorilla Glue #4 x Pink Champagne Flavors: sweet, raspberry, floral, earthy. Effects: relaxed body high, happy, euphoric head high. Known to Alleviate: pain, anxiety, depression. BayCure (oakzendelivery.com) lists this as a 50/50 CBD strain with 7.2% THC and CBD.
