Super Silver Haze OG (Feminised Photoperiod) ~Stateside Seeds~ https://statesideseeds.us/ 70/30 Sativa Dominant ~ Skunk #1, Northern Lights #5, Haze / OG Kush Flowering Time: 56-70 Days 18-25% THC ~1% CBD Just clarify - these came with a seedsman sticker on them, but they do NOT own them - you will not find them on the seedsman roster (though they had the strain info on hand). I know there has been some drama online / reddit concerning the nice lady who said just a little too much for her own good. (not putting her down - good for her honestly!) *I have spoken with seedsman on GrowDiaries directly about this strain, as well as the two L.E.'s I have, and they responded in kind with all the info they had on hand in regard to them. Not sure this information amounts to anything - but the poor gal seems to have disappeared altogether - reddit / website, everything. Not sure what happened there, but now you know as much as I do on the topic. ~~~~~~~~~~ Humidity Dome / Heat Mat @75f I will be testing to see how long I can let these gals go inside the humidity dome tray, w/hydroton as a loose medium. Once they sprout 1 inch taproots I'll start filling the tray halfway as needed (air pump/long airstone). Hoping for 4 weeks, maybe fill out the 3x2. Then transfer directly to 5gal buckets in the Mars Hydro 8x4, once the current run is finished! ~~~~~~~~~~ 5/17/21 3 Day Germination, all 8 😎 Big fan of this Radix Rooting Hormone. Replaces both your hormone and stimulator. Monies saved - for the exact same results :) ~~~~~~~~~~ 5/20/21 Was a bit distracted and forgot to check for a taproot on day 5, but all 8 had a really good one by the following morning! Will give them their first does of acclimation nutrients. Micro: 1.0 ml Grow: 1.5 ml Bloom: 0.5 ml Photosynthesis Plus: 1.5 ml Radix: 1.0 ml PH: 6.0 / PPM: 200 Lightly sprayed the rockwool, filled the tray halfway and put in an airstone (short video on my youtube) - first refill I will up nutes to week one dosing! No more heat pad.

5/22/21 All set for Early-Veg! Will add week one Veg Nutrients once they get through the acclamation dose (see germination). Cracked Dome 1/3 to acclimate to a lower RH. Spraying twice a day. ~~~~~~~~~~ 5/25/21 Removed dome tray lid. Topped off the tray with Veg nutes - as seen above. (This is slightly adjusted from my previous grow from Flora 2-3-1 veg / 2-1-3 flower) Will be slightly diluted to start, since the tray still had a good portion of acclamation nutes left. This should make for a good transition to the full dose! I'm starting my PH at 6.2 - but each time I top off the solution I will adjust the top off portion to 5.8 so I'm always scaling down. A month-ish of this should be perfect - hopefully. Solution temperature seems to be perfect at 72-75f (~68f at night), just enough shade from the hydroton + airstone below, and airflow above. (If I see algae than I'll rig up some little covers - hoping the photo plus & fish sh!t is enough.) Just to be safe, I added 1ml of Hi-Brix Molasses to keep the bennies alive a little longer - since the system is not drainable/DTW. Added a water bottle humidifier (being in Missouri with our high RH - this may be too much, we'll see). If the tent is over 70% consistently, then I'll swap to something else, or buy a humidistat controller. I spray weekly with BT (Bacillus Thuringiensis), so we'll be safe at 65-70 RH!

Started to see little specs of powdery mildew on the hydroton, caused by the bubbler ran down the center of the dome tray. It makes for constant evaporation, as expected, but the moisture is leading to the mildew on the hydroton as it dries (or from topping off nutes). Now I'm spraying the pebbles at least once a day with PHd water w/photo+ added to it. SUPER annoying, and may lead to me discontinuing the experiment, and switching them over to a shared DWC setup. I have been topping off all along the center - might be better to only do so at the corners, and mitigate where & how much moisture is on the hydroton. Let it ebb to the center, rather than a manual pour. ~~~~~~~~~~ Started to see some signs of lockout on a few, and nute burn on one. Seems I've reached the limit on this little experiment. I got the DWC Tote sealed & drying, will be transplanting the best 6 tonight or tomorrow morning. The last two top offs have been plain ph'd water, will help till we get them into the buckets. These gals are about to go CRAZY in their new homes. If the seal fails me on the tote, I'll swap the two flowering gals into the 3x2, and the SSH OG into the 8x4 in their own buckets. ~~~~~~~~~~ First seal failed on me during stress test and I didn't feel like stressing over, or waiting on another. Transplanted the seedlings, and swapped them with the flowering gals in the 8x4. Threw in some Ful-Power Humic Acid since we transferred out of a non-DTW system. All set to explode through veg!

Now that I know that my choice in beneficial bacteria (dosage) is more than sufficient - we can start pushing two week bucket changes, without worrying about root rot. All took well to the transplant. Lowered the lights a tad, and upped them 25%. (should have been at 100% by now, for these LED's). If I had done this a little earlier, and transplanted sooner - we'd be a little bigger. No worries though, we fixing to explode!

Leaves got a bit angry with me after getting all big and pretty Since transplanting out of the dome tray experiment - we've been at 4gl of water for two weeks now (just beneath the rockwool cube). Considering how large the taproots were upon transferring (see least week), I'm thinking that this was entirely unnecessary - and made for a tougher acclimation to life in soilless medium (since we dunked the entire root system rather than letting a smaller taproot system grow into it). The next grow won't have all the hydroton in the dome tray and should make for a smoother transition. Now I go down to 3gl - 2'' from the netcup (Ended up being the result of crushed tubing - insufficient oxygen at the root zone! *Fixed) (Held off on two week bucket changes until all are fully recovered) ~~~~~~~~~~ Went to check PH today and noticed the clay powder started to cover the roots, added some Humic Acid to avoid a res change so soon. Not cool hydroton, not cool 😠 Will have to clean more thoroughly next grow. (This was primarily from the crushed tubing. Stagnant water = bad) Next morning showed improvements. Lots of fresh root growth, leaves are a bit perkier - all the dust settled to the bottom. Seems that the hydroton dust + the organics I'm running made for a bad combo - might need to get stronger air pumps (I'm not quite at 1w/gl). Luckily, thanks to the issues with the first grow with recharge, I had some Humic Acid on hand. I'll use hydroton again next grow, but after a much more thorough cleaning & rinse. If the issues persist I might get some grow-stones of some kind. ~~~~~~~~~~ Waited a couple extra days after topping, before doing the main-line defoliation. Just in case things weren't improving. New growth looks good, finished out the main-line.

Hazzah! Think I figured it out. I don't need to upgrade pumps just yet - my tubing was being crushed! I'm using semi-hard tubing that ran 'between' the netcup and bucket. Looks like all 6 have started to flatten into a kink, a couple almost all the way. The couple short gals had it the worse - borderline kratky 😰 Fixed this with some holes drilled into the netcups, as seen in the photo's. Now I'm back to full throttle, leaves should bounce back real nice now that they are getting the oxygen they need! Roots are all doing surprisingly well despite the issue. Not a single sign of root rot - just hydroton dust / photo plus / floralicious plus. Reduced Fish Sh!t, Floralicious Plus, and Radix a tad - save some moneys. ~~~~~~~~~~ 2nd Top Waited a couple extra days so as to get a good look at the new growth. Looked perfect! Great color, no accordion/scrunched up leaves. Seems we fixed any current issues and should track well from here on. The two short gals that weren't getting enough oxygen have started to grow upwards, and stretch! One plant has an axillary bud that never sprouted - and the leaf next to it is super small....mutation? Or maybe a symptom of oxygen deprivation? Shoot me a message if you know what your looking at, please and thank you! ~~~~~~~~~~ Improving! Explosive growth after each top, new foliage looks good. Final top in a couple days / after next nute swap.

Forgot my insulation last week, left off just to test. Temps pushed into the 80's. Had I not done this the leaves would have improved even further. Lesson learned, HAVE to stay below 80* (WITH insulation I sit at 68-78F, cold packs every other day) Some manual LST each day, keep the axillary buds as exposed as possible

Things are moving along quite well now. -Defoliated a couple center leaves for light pen/airflow, and to give the rest some space to branch out Found some Hot/Cold storage bags at Dollar Tree that looked like they'd fit perfectly, and they did! 6$ and some rope to keep them from sliding. I was meaning to make another set of insulation wraps, but these seemed just as good, and convenient. If all goes well, this should be the last week of veg! ~~~~~~~~~~ Lower canopy is now completely covered - defoliated the lowest set of fan leaves. Node spacing looks good - hopefully it stays consistent through flower! ~~~~ Had to defoliate earlier than planned, gals got really bushy really fast. In hindsight, I should have defoliated more and started my LST earlier to open them up sooner. The dome tray experiment and crushed tubing put us back a little bit, slowing things down, and definitely contributed to how bushy these gals got. No lollipop this grow - I really don't want to extend my veg a week for something I could just as easily do later - safely, during flower (or if they are a fast starter, there's really no point anyway). Couple days to let them recover and its time to flip to flower!

Time for flip! I let them grow into 15'' from lamp, over the last week or two - will keep it there unless I see any issues. CO2 Generator from here on (after another grow, with no issues, I'll be testing to see how the extra CO2 does in Veg for DWC - growth is already crazy, just doesn't seem worth it? We'll find out!) ~~~~~~~~~~ Newest growth is a little lighter than intended (N Def), Topped off with water when I should have done nutrients. Was for ~2.5 days - busy/laziness on my part. Couple tie downs to open them up / even them out, should be the last bit of training I do this grow

Flower stretch is upon us! As you can tell, 4 out of 6 were a little more affected by the crushed tubing than the other 2, and are consequently a little shorter. One in particular is really dragging - though I don't think she'll herm, we'll just have to see. Garden looks better and better every day! ~~~~~~~~~~ Defoliated lowest set of fan leaves. Humidity was starting to get to them, causing droop, since they were now completely shaded. As well as some of the larf that had finally started to stretch, cramping things up. ~~~~~~~~~~ Pistils are finally popping out. Next grow everything will be done a little sooner. No early flower defoliation like this grow, it will be done beforehand / lollipop. Save the next defol for day 14-21. It is my own fault for doing the dome tray experiment, and then not adding a week to veg. They would have bushed out more in veg - allowing for lollipop, then flip = no early flower defol, faster pistil production. This SSH being a slow starter - I still could have had them out in a week-ish, rather than 2 - potentially. But at the same time, had I done that - the two big gals would have become unmanageable, and require an early/partial harvest. Going for that "one and done"

No more Radix from here on Testing two week bucket changes! Rather than swap them out this week, I filled them up. Threw in some Ful-Power Humic Acid, help prevent excess buildup (I probably should have tested w/o, but just in case) Up till now, nutrient/water uptake has been very consistent (including the first grow after rectifying some issues) - PPM never moves more than 100-200 after a full week, with roughly .5gal of water/nutrients remaining. So pushing for 2 weeks seems very doable. ~~~~~~~~~~ The two big gals just past 3ft! Other 4 are starting to show significant stretch as well, albeit took a bit longer. .5-1 gal of plain water in each bucket midweek - First big spike in PPM. (Could have adjusted PH a little sooner, saw some sway and lightened things up a bit) Another .5 gal water - two days before nute swap. Was getting close, miiight have been able to leave them alone but it just wasn't worth the risk!

Two week bucket changes seem to be doing well. Hazzah! That cuts my workload in half, and when your choosing to save money using cheapo 3$ buckets and a support system - that's a big deal! You get tired of lugging 6, 5gal buckets around with 2-4gals of water every week. Not to mention cleaning/sanitizing. Week Start: Nutes (PPM 925) 3 days later: Water (1gal) 2 days later: top off Nutes (PPM 925-1000) ~ (Humic) 2nd Week: Top off Nutes (PPM 925-1000) 3 days later: Water (.5-1gal) 2 days later: Water (.5gal) Fresh bucket, Fresh Nutes (PPM for veg isn't much different, 900ish after acclimation. Feed chart in germination week) **(If your looking to replicate this with your own system - do note that my choice of adding water/nutes was determined by PPM sway. Don't just do what I did above - check your PPM, if it shot way up - add water, if it shot way down - add nutes.) ~~~~~~~~~~ These SSH OG have been REALLY slow starters (in hindsight, they needed the 36 hours darkness before the flip, lesson learned) Buds are finally starting to take off - was time to double Koolbloom, and that should really help kick things into high gear! ~~~~~~~~~~ Just noticed one of the runts is putting out 15-point leaves! 😱🤯 She's long since caught up, but I'm guessing it is the result of the crushed tubing+defol early on? Or perhaps just genetic / a natural mutation?

One gal hermed :( Guessing as a result of the crushed tubing a few weeks back + defoliation. However, there has been some other wonkiness this grow such as no auxiliary buds on one, and 15-point leaves on another! So perhaps this is just a weaker strain not suited for training?🤷‍♂️ Checked all the other plants and no pollen sacks just yet - fingers crossed! (I sprayed down the whole tent with water as a just-in-case measure) Last big defoliation this grow! ~~~~~~~~~~ Aside from that, everything's looking good. Smaller gals are stretching considerably, two big gals have slowed down to a crawl. The tall gals are about 12'' from lamp, the others 15" - if things don't slow down I may have to consider some HST (nooooot my preference, all things considered - I'll end up with seeds, guaranteed). Or, if I don't see any significant burn, maybe I let them go and just harvest the top portions early? We'll see! More and more hairs every day, buds are getting bigger! ~~~~~~~~~~ OK! - Its the strain! Has to be. Woke up this morning and one of the big gals had fully open pollen-sacks :(((( Picked off every one I could find with tweezers This gal did not have crushed tubing issues, and everything tracked fine. This leads me to believe that these plants just aren't meant for stress training. This day and age - the breeder will usually give you info on the subject - I can't find this online ANYwhere. I know who the breeder is - (big big name-sticker was on the bag) so this comes as quite a surprise to me...but at the same time - you can't find them on the website. Feels like it was given up on, and I snagged some of them on sale, from a distributor who had some left? Best guess. (gal starting putting out foxtails a cpl weeks later - 10'' from lamp) ~~~~~~~~~~ Thought maybe the three smaller gals could use a trellis - unfortunately I did not train them well enough - they are a little too cramped/bushy. I will have to use the Bamboo support system from here on and the trellis would clip bud-sights. So worse case, I'll use zip ties / rope to keep them supported. If its anything like my first grow - the mainline/manafold will do most the work anyhow.

Looks like we're done stretching? Kind of odd that only one of the three runts shot up. The others hardly stretched at all, but with the tighter node spacing - both are nice and stacked as a result! Red pistils/stigmas are starting to show themselves!

Extending Flower by one week and shooting for 63 days. The three smaller gals will definitely go the full 9 weeks - the two larger gals are a different story. One looks like she'll track just fine, but the other started to fade and is even starting to show cloud. Could have given her too much bloom nutrients on accident( P Toxicity?), or she's just reacting a little differently to the amount she's been given as compared to the other plants. This has been a fairly inconsistent grow, so it wouldn't surprise me either way. Buds are really starting to fatten up! We have new calyx's popping out, and are heading towards ripen. Might have to cut one or both of the large gals short - we'll start checking trichomes soon! (All of them being slow starters + 3 falling behind made this a bit tricky, but I think we got it!) ~~~~~~~~~~ First larger-scale QWISO. Used 2oz of some lower quality stuffs, yielding 7.2g's - Looks & Tastes Fantastic! ~~~~~~~~~~ One of the two big gals is putting out some foxtails. Not at all surprised since they have been at about 10'' from lamp for quite some time now - not to mention all the other shenanigan's this grow.

Ripen! More and more calyx's every day 😍 Couple shots of the foxtails - crazy frosty ❄️❄️❄️ They are right at 10'' from lamp - not much I can do other than do better, and be a little faster, next grow! I won't be doing anything fancy or experimental with my seedlings, no shared DWC for veg. Will keep it simple and go from humidity dome tray to 5gl buckets. Once I move and have more space, I will revisit the shared DWC tub for early veg - speed up the perpetual cycle a little bit. If there had been no issues or wonkiness this grow, I might consider some HST to even things out a bit, but alas - its just too risky this grow. I would just end up with more seeds. ~~~~~~~~~~ The one big gal got her second dose of Ripen nutrients midweek (5ml - feed chart in germ week). Flush this weekend! The other big gal MIGHT make it the entire 63 days - will keep an eye on trichomes! The one gal smells like sweet lemon drops and has LOTS of color - the others have the typical diesel/fuel. Guessing its the Lemon Thai? Night and day difference between her and the 4 others 🤷‍♂️🏻 Some branches were started to sag on me so I used some soft plant ties and secured them to primary satellite branches.

One gal is ready for flush! (3 Days) Lots of pictures of her this week since she's about to get the chop! The other gals are all doing just fine and ripening out well, starting to show a slight leaf color change like the other. Plants are tall enough now that I HAD to use the bamboo support. Still works great - bamboo is holding quite nicely. ~~~~~~~~~~ One down, 4 to go! 😎

Starting to show amber, but not quite 10% on all 4 plants just yet so I will extend ripen a couple days. Shouldn't be long now and It'll be 3 day flush and the chop! Some of the foxtails on 2 of these gals - WOW! Tall and frosty! First plant looks great. Pulled 112.3g off her, and a nice chunk of kief 😀 My dry is a little faster than anticipated - will to some adjusting before the next plants go in. ~~~~~~~~~~ Last 4 are finally all showing amber, time for flush, 36 hours of darkness and the chop 🔪🔪🔪 ~Flush~ Fish Sh!t: 1ml Photosynthesis Plus: 4ml Florakleen: 5ml I incorporate the darkness period in my 3 day flush. When lights go out tomorrow I will unplug the timer for the remaining 36 hours.

Super Silver Haze OG (Feminised Photoperiod) ~Stateside Seeds~ https://statesideseeds.us/ 70/30 Sativa Dominant ~ Skunk #1, Northern Lights #5, Haze / OG Kush Flowering Time: 56-70 Days 18-25% THC ~1% CBD ~~~~~~~~~~ Much like my first grow, I think things went as well as can be expected. ~~~~~~~~~~ Seedling experiment was obviously a mistake. WAY easier to just go from dome tray, to a single or shared DWC setup. Luckily I was on it, saw the signs and got them transplanted immediately! No other issues until mid-veg, where I accidentally had two pumps with crushed tubing (under a bucket - woops!), affecting 4 plants. I caught it the next morning -but they were choked off just long enough to present some wonkiness later on. Among the plants with crushed tubing, we saw the following: -One plant shot out banana's the following day, big long ones! I trashed her immediately and sprayed down the entire grow space with water, to lock any pollen in place. -Had two plants with FIFTEEN point leaves...WOW 🐙 as well as single leaflets -One plant didn't grow a set of auxiliary's, and instead put out a tiny leaf...very odd, made for a 6 branch manafold/mainline -One had foxtails, from nearly top to bottom 🦊 She also stretched considerably more than the others that were affected the same way 🤷‍♂️🏻 -Two short gals, they stopped stretching very early compared to all the others -All were very slow starters when it came time to flower -Finished two weeks late (debatable - grower info/notes unavailable) The other two plants also had some issues, despite having no real indication as to why (beyond the stress training, mainline/manafold & LEDs) - (Edit Below - clogged air stones?) -Both had foxtails 🦊 they were a little closer to the LEDs than I'd prefer. This was due to the 4 plants that were behind - we waited for them to catch up and these two of course kept growing. Normally I would consider some HST (slow them down / even them out), but that would not have been wise this grow, all things considered. -One plant hermed! Banana's & low-branch pollen sacs 😥 (removed with tweezers, & overnight prayers🙏) I have no reason to think it was for any other reason than the stress training it went through (and back and forth clogged air stones, edit below) The two plants that put out pollen sacs did pollinate all 4 others. BUT, no more banana's, no more hermie plants. This just means SOME seeds - not a big deal considering how fast we caught it & sprayed (I pulled 10-15 mature seeds per plant). And if my research is correct, those seeds are also "feminised" albeit inbred, Sweet!? I will revisit the strain at some point - and I will be sure to update this with any new findings. Edit: I was forced to swap out air stones throughout this grow due to phot-plus clogging them. Is more likely that the initial kink clogging throughout is to blame, rather than the plants genetics/resilience. Future grows with this strain will use a different bacillus product so as not to clog up the air stones - can retry mainline/manafolding and see where it gets us. The plant that had no issues other that some foxtails from the too-close LEDS - finished an entire two weeks earlier than the others, on time* (yielding 112.3 grams - reference previous weeks entry) Attempted to make some QWISO shatter from the first plants trim, using 90% Isopropyl...would NOT recommend! It will scald, and has all these tiny hairs in it 😠 Leaving it WAY too dark and tasting terrible. In the next run I learned that squeezing plant that has gone through a flush and a color change - is bad! You will get a nasty color and taste, better to not use that plant matter at all, or if you do - keep it fast and do not shake the jar! ~~~~~~~~~~ AAAAAAH, so close to 1 lbs.!!! Had I not had to trash a plant this grow, would have got there. Pulled 24.5g's of kief from the trimbin, and who knows how much shake altogether. I will be extracting the remaining plant-matter using QWISO for shatter. The first run was a quart jar of leaves & branches yielding 2.3g, and the second run was all the shake from trimming & the remaining satellite branches - yielding 7.3g (so 9.6 grams of shatter total so far* - still have a bag of sugar leaves to get at! I just ran out of solvent) Got some more solvent and used up the remaining sugar leaves - roughly 1/3 gallon bag (packed/frozen) - filled up two quart jars. Yield was 4.2, making for a total of 21.1 grams of shatter this harvest, all from extra plant material 😎 ~~~~~~~~~~ *I have spoken with seedsman on GrowDiaries directly about this strain, as well as the two L.E.'s I have, and they responded in kind with all the info they had on hand in regard to them. These came with a seedsman sticker on them, but they do NOT own them - you will not find them on the seedsman roster (though they had the strain info on hand). I know there has been some drama online / reddit concerning the nice lady who appears to have said just a little too much for her own good. Not sure this information amounts to anything - but the poor gal seems to have disappeared altogether - reddit / website, everything. Not sure what happened there, but now you know as much as I do on the topic. ~~~~~~~~~~ https://bit.ly/3MplXqf ^^^GrowAce Affiliate Link^^^ Use this if you want to show some support! Questions & Feedback are welcomed, feel free to message me! Thanks for stopping by growmies! 🤙🤙🤙🙏🙏🙏
