InspireMe Growing nicely! I think I may see some cal mag deficiency starting on the tips so I will add on the next water Day 12: watered around the edge 800ml. 6.3PH. PPM a little high at 352 due to adding cal mag, grow b and PH adjusting. I'm hoping that this isnt too much! The other plant is also a blue dream I overwatered and stunted. I thought I'd keep her running. Shes 4 weeks old and pretty small lol. It's my first grow so it's all about learning 🙂

InspireMe Day 15: watered both younger plants. 2L at 6.3PH 340ppm. The oldest BD is showing early signs of too much N. I will cut that back significantly on the next watering. I also transplanted her from a 1L pot to a 3 gal. She seems happy. I'm seeing a few bud sights which is a good sign! Considering I almost killed her. Day 16: all are showing signs of too much N. Other than that I think things are going well. Day 19: watered the 2 smaller plants. 2L of plain water ph 6.8. Then nuted 2L 420ppm ph 6.3. 1ml cal mag 1ml grow a 2ml grow b 1ml b52 4ml voodoo juice 4ml piranha And a sprinkle of great white (This is per the 2L feed) Day 22: continuing to tuck to get more light on the smaller leaves. Seriously considering LST but feel a little uneasy about possible damage. I'm going to do more research before starting. Watered the oldest BD (one in the back of photos) 2L of plain water followed by 2L of nute mix: 2ml sensi grow b 1ml sensi grow a 1ml cal mag extra 1ml B52 4ml voodoo juice & 4ml piranha With a sprinkle of great white. (Above is the total for 2L feed) 440ppm/6.35PH Some serious growth today! I think the tucking is really helping. If you're buying seeds help a brother out and click this to buy from fastbuds.. InspireMe Day 23: grow is coming along nicely! Tucking the larger leaves behind the smaller ones to allow more light. The older BD is coming on nicely, I think she is going to stretch soon. I'm still going a little heavy on the N. I can see the tips clawing down slightly. Minor discoloration on the tips but hardly even noticeable. Day 24: the oldest BD is showing signs of a cal mag deficiency. I have been giving cal mag xtra at 0.5ml/L Due to the amount of N. Next feed I will up to 1.25ml/L and cut the grow A out. Worried about the amount of N shes going to be getting, cal mag as it is 4-0-0 and the grow A is 3-0-0. Watered the younger blue dream. Exactly the same as I have been previously. Day 25: New gear day 😁! Its been a busy day in the garden! Second p1000 added to tent. Also added in 2x CO2 gas bags. CO2 bags are placed next to the air intake to keep the CO2 in the tent for as long as possible. The lights are now set at 50% and about 23 inches above the girls. Giving them the same intensity, but with more coverage. I've also been monitoring VPD. I'm keeping my tent at a 50% humidity, using a humidifier outside the tent. With my temps being between 24-26°C I believe this is the optimal range. Finally, I have watered the jack herer. I gave her 3L of water this time. I waited a little longer to water than I have previously, so the pot took more to get the 20% runoff. I will be waiting until the other girls feel like this. I've been a little nervous about under watering. The 3L feed was the same as the previous one. Day 26: big shock today... my timer for lights hasn't gone off since I installed the second light 🤦‍♂️ multi plug stops mechanical timer from spinning 🤬.. all sorted now, they will turn off tonight! Only caught due to the new camera! On to that, I got a cheap camera from amazon to view remotely.. made sure temp/RH can be seen also. Works great. It is 1080p but I haven't figured out how to get the timelapse download quality in 1080p. I will look into that. Anyway I got a timelapse of the blue dream after watering 😝. Watered her the usual. If interested just scroll up it's been the same for a while 🙂. Day 28: smaller blue dream watered the usual. I really do need to cut the N down. They are on the edge of toxic levels. Girls are looking a little sleepy tonight, this morning I upped the power on the lights to 65% they took it really really well. It came to tea time and they were taking it really well still so I upped it to 75%. A few hours at 75% and they told me that was to much by dropping the leaves. Its lights out soon so no big deal! I know where my lights should be set for optimal growth tomorrow. Its amazing how much they can tell you. So I'll be leaving them on 65% at 18" for a little while. I'm trying to prevent too much stretch. Day 29: watered the jack today, shes looking the furthest into flower! I cut the sensi grow A out fully today as she has N in her cal mag and B52. Kept all the other levels the same for now. Next feed I will be introducing her to the bloom nutes. Oldest BD will be due a feed tomorrow and she will be having the same. They are continuing to grow nicely, I'm pretty shocked with how big they are if I'm honest! Cheers for stopping by 👍👊

InspireMe Day 29: watered older BD, same as usual but cut grow A. As shes showing signs of too much N. Shes progressing nicely though! The jack herer is well into flowing, I can see the change each day. They're all starting to stretch but the jack is running way faster than them both. As the fastbuds site said 🙂 looking a little sleepy before bedtime again, which suggests a little too much light but I think they can take the extra to prevent a really large stretch. Day 31: watered younger BD. Cut the grow A to reduce N. Largest BD is showing some signs of heat stress. I can see the N levels reducing in the plants due to cutting out grow A. So far so good 🙂 Day 32: watered JH. I replaced grow B with bloom B. Still cutting the A as I don't want too much N. Bloom B does contain N. I'm hoping that this doesnt impact her. I have a feeling that It will cause a little burn. A few days will show. Day 33: watered older BD. Bloom b 0.75ml/L, cal mag 0.5ml/L, b52 0.5ml/L. Cut down on the N for this feed. Also applied some LST to get them all back in the tent. Thanks for stopping by 👍🙂

InspireMe Dsy 34:So far so good! Watered the little BD started on bloom nutes. Keeping N low. Smell is pretty strong now. They're all well on there way with flowering. The jack seems way ahead. Seem a little sleepy, I know.. it's nearly bed time for them! Day 36: watered JH and older BD. Usual feed. Day 40: all is well! I haven't been noting my watering as it's the same every time 4L every 3 days. Same nutes as they are happy with them. Day 41: little blue dream has shed 6 fan leaves from the bottom, due to bot getting enough light. I'm a little bit annoyed that sensi bloom B contains N. I'm trying to get the nute balance a little better to feed more P & K but I cant because of the N. I've ordered some "AN Big Bud" as it contains just P & K. That arrives tomorrow so I'll be adjusting the feeds. Probably also give some more bennies (voodoo, piranha & great white) and add in the big bud on next feed to try and get these ladies to fatten up 😝 Cheers for stopping by 👍🙂

InspireMe All good going into week 2 of flower! Plants are happy and growing nicely. Still got a little N tox which is starting to bother me. So my big bud has arrived. I'm going to try reducing N significantly. Its difficult with the cal mag that has an NPK of 4-0-0. Big shout out to @fastbuds for providing me with their awesome genetics for my next grow: Bruce banner, Lsd-25 and Purple punch 😍😁 Day 43: removed shedding leaves at the bottom of the plants, they pretty much fell off. Watered the JH and older BD, with the measurements above. Hopefully I'll kick this N tox to bed with this mix. Thanks for stopping by! 👍👊 Day 47: all is good, progressing nicely. Still showing signs of N tox and calcium issues. Hopefully it will be cleared up by the end of next week. It isnt getting worse so thats good!

InspireMe Day 51: So today is my usual watering day but decided that I can do it in the evening instead of the morning. How wrong I was, blue dream at the back was deeply unhappy with that idea. I came to water and shed dropped like crazy. The other BD was ready eventhough she wasnt due until tomorrow, I feel as though I may have gotten a little complacent with the 3 day water. I'll be checking after 2 days now as I dont even bother to lift the pots to check. All back to normal after watering. (Watered plain PH 6.3 water) Photos arent quite as good tonight as I was rushing as my phone was going to die. Will get some better ones today Lastly, a big thanks to marshydro for sending me the tsw-2000! Girls are looking awesome under it 😏👌 Super easy to install, I've left at the same hight and set the brightness to about 50%. Using my cheap light measure it's a little more than what they were getting before. I'm getting a much better coverage with the tsw-2000 than what I had with the 2x viparspectra P1000s. I'm really happy with the light already, I'm sure the girls are going to love it just as much as I 😝. Day 52: all is good! Girls aren't dropping an hour before lights out so I have increased the light to 65%. Really good sign, maybe they like the mars light spectrum a little more than the VS. Checked on weight of the pot today, still feels real heavy.. I'll be shocked if I need to water tomorrow, maybe it was just a one off as it has been a little warm. We shall see tomorrow! Day 55: the older blue dream is showing a pretty heavy P deficiency. This is likely due to my laziness.. I've been feeding her the same as the others even though she looked like she could take some more nutes. Fed them all today 4L ph 6.4 530ppm 1ml/L big bud & bloom B 0.5ml/L b52 0.25ml/L cal mag Bads are starting to put on weight and pistils are browning a little roughly 30-40% are browning. Getting closer to harvest 😁 Day 58: watered 4L plain Ph 6.4 (All) Small defoliation of all 3 plants, increasing light penetration and airflow to the bud sites. Pistils are mostly brown, I'm going to start the flush and keep an eye on the trichomes! Time to get out the microscope for the next update 😁 Thanks for stopping by! 🙂👍

InspireMe I really enjoyed this grow, alongside all the products and equipment I used! I have had a little tester but was dried very quickly so I'm excited for the end product! Although I did really enjoy the smoke and the mrs didnt complain 😝. I'm a little rushed for time so this is very brief, I'll be adding a lot more info when I have everything available. Lots more info to be added to photos and down here. I just dont have time and haven't updated in a while! Thanks for stopping by!

@tricombo420, you dont NEED to measure EC but it is very helpful. It let's you know exactly what's going on with your feeds. If you did want to you can pick up a EC device on Amazon for pretty cheap!

Your new light looks great, your plants will love it and the elevated CO2 levels. What is VPD? My grow cupboard temp hovers between 24-26c and I also think they are happiest in that temperature range. Do you measure the LUX of your light intensity? I got an app called Lux Light Meter from the Play store and it uses the front facing camera to measure intensity. It works pretty well. It gives you the ability to raise the lights and then adjust light intensity at the leaf canopy back to where you had it previously...less stress for the plants and its more data to collect (I like collecting data). Did you find that the second light increased tent temperatures at all? 😊
InspireMe
InspireMe commented4y ago
@Bikerwolf, thank you mate 😁! VPD (vapour pressure deficit) is basically how much moisture the plants suck out of the air during transpiration. I noticed my plants have been showing cal mag issues for a while but I'm scared of burning them with N (cal mag contains n, higher than my N source.) Anyway if the VPD is off they can show cal mag issues as they struggle to process it. My VPD has been way off because I was told RH doesn't really matter. But I now think it does. I'll put the VPD chart up for you so you can have a look. Also this website has a really good explanation of it. I'd have a little look 🙂 https://www.dimluxlighting.com/knowledge/blog/vapor-pressure-deficit-the-ultimate-guide-to-vpd/ I have managed to keep it pretty close, but it does fluctuate pretty heavily based on temps. My humidifier has a built in controller, but it struggles to get up to the set RH because I'm moving 600m3/h of fresh air in which is massively overkill for my space lol. But I did it to help with temps on a hot day in the loft. I'd need it in the tent but it takes up space and has a light on it (I dont wanna herm them) Yeah 24-26 is perfect! That's what I try and aim for! Oh that's a good idea! I have a 3 in one soil measure which also does light. I dont think its mega accurate or even gives a legitimate measurement but it was on 500 with one light so I made sure it was on 500 with both lights 😝. The centre is a little higher but I'm getting an even 500 across the whole tent with a huge difference in light penetration. Haha we seem very similar on the data collection, I'm a bit of a perfectionist so data is great! I have a temp/ RH monitor that's set up to my phone (gove its called) I'm constantly checking and adjusting it to try and keep it perfect. I've just ordered a wifi camera so I can view them remotely and it can create timelapse's. Pretty cheap from Amazon! I'm really excited for that to arrive 😝. I dont think the second light has increased temps. If it has not by much. The single was running at about 85% before and they are both running at 50% now. So I guess they are running cooler since they aren't working as hard. When i increase the brightness I'm certain it will run hotter. I think that it increases the temps by about 1.5-2°C with one so I'm intrigued to see the effects of 2 running at full power. I may have to get a larger carbon filter and inline fan. I've got my eye on one that keeps the tent within set temp/RH. If it gets too hot/humid it has a controller that increases extraction. If it's not enough it will decrease as well. It also maximizes the carbon filter by removing the air slower. Reducing smell more effectively. It's just a little pricey, and a tad overkill for me... but I still want one 😂😂
Bikerwolf
Bikerwolf commented4y ago
@InspireMe, Cheeers for that, I realise I have heard the term vapour pressure deficit before, but that's as far as its gone...I'll do some reading. Humidity doesn't really seem to be an issue where I am growing. Its always hovering around 50-60% depending on which hygrometer I look at. My mistake was buying a couple of temperature / humidity reading devices, now I don't know which one is accurate 😳 I have a couple of Inkbird devices, a remote temp / humidity gauge which has a readout I can put on my desk and a temperature controlled switch which kicks in the extra cooling and extraction fans when the temperature gets above a pre-programmed set point. This is in addition to the Ansio tower fan which is in the cupboard and runs 24/7 to give the plant lots of circulating air. In terms of new toys, I'm considering buying a decent pH meter. I do have one, but I don't really trust it and have been using pH indicator strips which I think it the better alternative at the moment. I have an EC meter which seems to work ok and give sensible readings. Its good that your additional light hasn't upset your temperature control. I think the QB lights do run cool and it sounds like you are running a lot of fresh air through your tent anyway which will help keep temperatures comfortable for your girls. I'm running my light at about 40% at the moment and I will increase this a bit more as we get into the flowering stage. I think it would be pretty easy to run the light too bright and burn the plant, something I am careful not to do. Perfectionism is a double edged sword, both a blessing and a curse which I know all about LOL. I did read a thing that said 'don't let perfect get in the way of better' which is fair enough, but not always easy to implement. I'm just glad I'm growing a strain which is forgiving and not too fussy 😎👍

@Bikerwolf, yeah man that's within the correct range anyway I think bud! Nice man! That's a great setup you've got! I've got an oil heater on a temperature probe switch to regulate it when it's too cold. Yeah man, it blows near it when its cooler. And the negative pressure in the tent sucks in fresh air. When it's really hot I put it straight into the tent and it drops the temps about 5°c. Oh nice! Yeah it's good to have that extra available for flower 💪. Hahaha yeah my mrs hates it. When I'm home I'm constantly adjusting things 😂😂.. when I'm out theres nothing I can do, but it bothers me 😂. That's why I got the cam 😂 Yeah man mine dont seem too fussy right now which is a good thing! Your girl is looking really nice bro 😏👍

Also got my curing stuff. I have no idea how many jars I'll need. I got 3 2L mason jars. Do you think that will be right or is it overkill 😂?

Bikerwolf commented4y ago
@InspireMe, Its great that you have your microscope and CO2 bag, your plants will thank you 😜 From what I've read, plants can bounce back from abuses in the veg stage, but not so well once flowering has started. It looks like your BD has really bounced back. I hope you have a great day tomorrow setting up your new Vipar, always very exciting. I think 3x 2L jars will be enough, but you can always use old glass jars once they've been cleaned. 👍😎
