Planted 3 (out of 20) seeds of what I Love Growing Marijuana tells me is Colombian Jack, but I have serious doubts.
Off to a wet start, discovered after I transplanted the little suckers, so it might be on me for the poor fertilization period.
I got all three ladies out of their seedling growth pots, and into their 5 gal homes. Went very well.
I was a little worried about the two seedlings growing in the same tiny pod. but I got them separated pretty well.
Mary is still recovering from being too wet in the same pod as Ruth who is flourishing.
I'm all caught up in my grow diary with this post. This is my second try at growing weed. I was far too ambitious the first time and it was a total failure.
Ruth needed some water today, and since it's been awhile I fed her too. Mary might finally need some water tomorrow, and I'll feed her then as well. All my gals look great! No one looks stressed from the topping.
Got up early today and caught my ladies just after daytime for them 6am, and refiled the humidifier. A little while later I checked on the temp/RH/VPD and everything looks wonderful. Between watering Ruth, and refilling the humidifier I've finally broken the 60% barrier on relative humidity, which is currently running at 88.4% which is a little high. VPD finally broke the 2.0kPa barrier and is currently 0.49kPa, which is a bit low now. But I can deal with high humidity and low VPD by adjusting the humidifier down a bit.
So that I can get in the grow tent early in their daytime schedule I've adjusted the light/dark cycle to ON starting at 8am and running for 18hrs to 2am. So I can be in there early everyday without having to adjust my schedule.
My ladies are growing great now staying in the 60 - 70 percent humidity range now during most of the daylight hours. Which keeps the vapor pressure deficit around 1.34 to 1.65 which is a little high, but much improved over the higher than 2.50 I was getting. I am having trouble with the tent having higher than 95% humidity in the mornings which puts my VPD very high.
I think I'll invest in a second timer to have the humidifier on a different on/off cycle than the LED lights. I currently have both my lights and humidifier on the same on/off cycle. If I got the second timer I could have the humidifier kick on after the tent heats up a bit and the humidity from overnight in the tent drops a little.
I love my LED lights the plants look great and are growing great guns, they heat up less than other lighting solutions, but still I have a temperature range between 70 and 85 degrees. According to the Marijuana Horticulture book (by Jorge Cervantes who used to write for High Times) this is a good range for my girls.
I also trimmed away some none productive leaves and branches at the bottom, not quite lollypoping them but close. I won't really lollypop them until they have a couple weeks of flower time so I can really see what leaves are just sucking up energy from the plants.
No pics of post trimming, will post next week
Changed into flower light cycle. The girls look good very bushy, trimmed some of the lower leaves again, but many of the branches have new tops on them so I didn't touch those, just leaves on the lower 1/3rd of the plant I added tiger bloom and big bud, but by the end of the week still no signs of nitrogen problems, and I'm staying on the low end of the ppm recommended.
I had one leaf that I noticed some brown ovals on the leaves, I checked really hard and decided that I had burned this leaf with light, so I raised the light source a bit higher. Staying the course, since the plants over all look great.
Starting to notice a very slight smell, but it's more of a chlorophyll smell than a pot smell.
