So... I crossed bread my Headband and Durban, both ways last year and thought I had harvested most of the mature seeds before cutting but I was given a great surprise this spring. So I have 3 seeds in pots and 13 in the ground. The seeds that germinated naturally survived a super cold winter and came up right away as soon as the ground thawed. This diary will have various plants in various stages but should all finish about the same time. Disclaimer!! These are fresh genetics so expect Phenos and wild plants. Should be fun

So after watching them for a couple weeks I ran a 92% female/ male ratio. After pulling the fellas I made my selections based on node spacing, sturdiness and over all appearances. So here are my 3 big girls that I will be harvesting mid to end of October. All 3 are LST and sit about 18”-24” high.

It has been incredibly hot for this time of year so I noticed a slowdown in growth over the previous weeks but still strong and filling out nicely. One of the plants didn’t take well to the LST( I think I started her too late) but she it filling out some.

Alright, I’ve got this strain I’ve been working on Durban Poison x Headband. All 3 plants are between 7 and 9 weeks roughly into veg outdoors. They get 15 hours of direct sunlight and when I did my walks today I noticed all 3 appear to be flowering?... why?

Primordia/pre-flowers will appear on the stems some weeks before actual flowering commences and is completely normal. Your plants have simply left childhood, hit "puberty" and are on their way to adulthood, where they will start flowering in earnest in a few weeks. Cheers, Organoman.

It was a good week for growing. I installed a semi-screen to help me spread the girls out. Plant #1 really got bushy this week and continues to grow very rapidly. #2 and #3 are both showing rapid growth but aren’t getting as bushy as their sister. All three plant are showing pistils and are stacking calyx on top of calyx so I think they are ready to start flowering.

Great weather, great growth, great looking girls. #1 is definitely showing her Sativa dominance, while her sisters definitely lean more indica. #3 isn’t showing as much vigor as the others, 1 and 2 have stalks the size of a half dollar while 3s stalk is maybe quarter sized. All appear to be super healthy with tons of new growth and pistils everywhere. Cheers

The girls got new netting to help them in the next phase of life. Plant #1 is huge taking up a 3x6 area by herself. While the others take up about a 5x2 area. #1 is showing flower production while her sisters are still hesitant. I don’t plan to train them after this point. I had to trim a branch that got twisted while installing the Net and noticed a hard wood center. Time for the flowers

The girls are doing their stretch, they put on several inches this week. #1 is putting on some good looking nugglets and again her sister are trailing. 2&3 look about the way they should this far along but 1 is something else. The weather seems to be cooling finally so it should be a good flowering season. I also forgot to mention that I started the girls on 6ml/gl of tiger bloom last week and they took it in stride so I plan to jump to 8ml/gl this week.

The girls definitely started stretching!!! #1 is still overall the better plant but 2 and 3 starting their stretch a little later then #1 so we will see how it goes. Upped the nutrients to 12ml/gal gonna let them continue to do their thing. 🍻 cheers

#1 seems to have completed her stretch while number is creeping up to be the same size so I expect #2 to finish stretching this week. #3 is just now starting to hit her stride and is growing noticeably everyday. All 3 plants have started shedding their bottom canopies. I increase the nutrients again to 15ml/gal. I will do two more feedings with the tiger bloom and then be switching to a PK only fertilizer until the flush. Happy growing! Cheers 🍻

I discovered an aphid issue early in the week so the girls went through a defoliation. I was concerned about the aphids but once I opened the plants up an army of different bugs came to finish the job. The girls are still growing great and getting fatter every day. #1 is showing trichomes while two and three still seem to be flowering slower then their sister.

The stretch is definitely over. The girls are all putting on weight now and producing trichomes. #1 is still the biggest and furthest along in flowering but #2 is catching up in size very quick. #2 also started producing neon pink pistils, I tried to capture them in some of the pics but they don’t really do them justice. #3 is significantly smaller then her sisters and seems to be arriving late to the flowering party, hopefully she will have time to finish up before the first frost. Switching next week to a 0-10-10 fertilizer.Cheers 🍻 and happy growing!

Not really a whole lot to report. Girls are starting to get thick and they are stinky. Started the Cha Ching just before these pictures so we will see what happens this week. Cheers 🍻 and happy growing.

Doing my daily checks of the girls and noticed an immature seed! Roughly about 8 weeks into flower, should I cut them now or let them finish?

It would also be best having a picture just incase it's not a seed development.

If its only one seed you should be fine, any sign of more forming then it might be best to chop slightly early. Iv had the odd plant with the odd random seed.

It was a strange week. Early in the week I spotted a couple seeds. I was going to cut them down but after a good looking over I noticed that it was only about 5 seeds I could see total and not any immature seeds so I let them keep going and I’m glad I did. Next Sunday will be two weeks of flushing and we will see where we are. Trichomes are about ripe so this might be the last week of flowering. Cheers 🍻

It appears we are nearing the end of the journey 😆😞. #1 will be finished within the week while 2 and 3 will be roughly a week behind. 2 and 3 have grown larger buds then their early sister, but #1s buds are rock hard. The other still have good density but they aren’t as tight. I’m excited to see the final product. Cheers 🍻 and happy growing!

Harvested #1 that’s why this post is late. I left a couple smaller buds to ripen for edibles. #2 had a bud rot scare after cutting down the branch and examining the buds I found that it was a green caterpillar that had burrowed its way into my buds. Long story short the issue is resolved. #3 is way to heavy for herself, spend most days propping her up. Wet weight with a mild trim and still on branches is 17.1lbs looking for about a pound of her when all is said and done. Cheers 🍻 and happy growing!

Not a lot to report. Purples are setting in with cold weather. Worried number won’t finish before the frost. She has magenta hairs as pictured. Still not showing much amber while #3 is about ready. Cheers and happy growing 🍻

The End has come! These will be the last photos of them growing. I would have like to seen #2 go a couple more weeks but the weather won’t allow it. With an impending freeze the middle of this coming week I will have to cut them on Tuesday. #3 got way to heavy for her self. I try my best to prop her up but she prefers to sag I guess. Cheers and happy growing!
