You hear a lot about the spectacular weed from Canada's west coast so when I came across this breeder from Nova Scotia I was more than intrigued. I just had to order up some of their souvenirs and see what kind of memories I could make. For this round we'll be growing Pineapple Skunk and Scotian Gold from EC Genetics.
Pineapple Skunk
A bud with a very complex flavor profile, this indica-leaning hybrid is a cross between Pineapple, Skunk, and rare pure 100% indica we like to keep secret. Pineapple Skunkโs is one of those tangy, tropical smokes. Her flowers give off the unmistakable scent of tropical citrus, with some accents of pineapple. THC levels on this one have been measured between 24% and 27%.
Scotian Gold
OG Kush meets Durban Poison made up this beauty. This combo comes together amazingly to create a very special strain yields big, tastes great and is an ease to grow. The perfect blend for those who need to impress company! THC: 22% - 26%
Soaked seeds for 12 hours and gave them the paper towel treatment - nice little taproots appeared within 36 hours. Dropped into peat plugs and sprouts appeared within 24 hours. Transplanted them into a 6" net pots yesterday on D6 from seed.
Looking forward to growing both of these strains!
Thanks for tuning in โ๏ธ
@Oozle, So far, I really like the Remo nutes. I find the EC readings are little lower and PH more stable vs. comparable quantities of the GH nutes. I used Diamond Nectar before which I suppose serves similar purpose as the velokelp. Hopefully, they respond as well to the flowering nutes!
@StunFlower, The natures candy has carbs in it. I've heard carbs can cause the bad bacteria to go crazy, but I've seen people use molasses in DWC and not have problems. So maybe try it in 1 reservoir and see what happens lol. Also, I am not sure there is the rhizosphere needed in DWC to breakdown and process those carbs. I use enough stuff in my reservoirs, so I look for any excuse to not add more lol.
I think the velokelp is a lot like the liquid karma I use. I love using kelp, but I found it makes the reservoirs a little brown and funky, so I try to use a few days before I plan to change my reservoir and mainly in flower as kelp is supposed to help make stinkier buds.
Don't let my experiences stop you from trying those products.. maybe I was using them wrong or had something else out of whack in my grow room. Definitely interested to see how your plants look if you use them.
@Oozle, Thanks! I thought I recalled you mentioning something about something in their product line that was problematic in DWC - can you refresh my memory? I'm not sure if it was the Velokelp or something else. ๐ค
@CannaScuzzyB, Hey pal! Great to hear from you. I can only assume things are starting to pop in your gardens again ๐ I've been doing fine - keeping busy; the summer flew by! I hope things are well with you!
Looking good and progressing very nicely !! Good luck with the grow !
