Started 2 of the 6 seeds I have of this strain.
Decided to keep things simple this run so much so that I didn’t even use the paper towel method but rather just threw them about a quarter inch deep into some peat pucks, watered and put a dome over them. Haven’t started feeding nutes yet as well.
They both germinated however one seed (which looked questionable) was far behind the other one. I’m okay with it though because it will make pheno hunting this strain a lot easier lol.
Because I’m growing this plant in a small 1x2 area for the next 2 months. I will most likely mainline this girl as long as she continues to grow vigorously🤞
*Note: she appears to have a slight ph issue in the pics. I fed he water from my dehumidifier which I didn’t balance. Since transplanting she appears to be doing a lot better!
As I am writing this we are at the end of week 1 of veg( 14 days from seed.)
She’s been growing so vigorously compared to my last grow:) I have high hopes for this lady but I’ll try not get my hopes too high lol can’t judge a book by it’s cover until the final smoke report🤷♂️
I started feeding nutes this week at a very low dose. Because I am using microbes this time around, I will be supplementing “natures candy” through veg. In hopes of keeping her happier overall.
This stage is still so slow and boring but it looks like I will be able to top her soon enough and get this mainline underway😁🤘
Started topping this lady a little early. She was just working on her 5th node when I topped her. Although some people wait a little later to top.
She is a little bit heat stressed because of the warmer summer climate and humidity is less than ideal so I’m curious to see how she develops.
So this has been a rather interesting mainline already🧐🧐
Unfortunately after the second topping I noticed one of the sights was considerably smaller than the rest. And doesn’t look like she will catch up even after snapping the stem on the opposite side to slow down the growth😔
So I will try to make the best out of the situation and just do a 6 cola mainline??I will top the other branches one last time (assuming they grow symmetrically) and leave the deformed branch alone. May even just take it as a clone later. We’ll have to play it by ear.
Her deformed branch has appeared to stop growing completely after the second topping. I topped her for a third time as the other branches were growing consistently.
I may or my not top her again for 12 mains but, I’ll have a better idea by next week.
*Update* decided to plant 3 more seeds as I wasn’t satisfied with the mainline. #1 seed sprouted in just 2 days without germination. She easily the most vigorous plant I have ever seen. #2 sprouted in 3 days. And #3 sprouted in 4 days.
The 6 cola mainline plant is still growing well. Of course I would’ve liked to have 8 mains but that’s way she goes🙃
The seedlings are almost 2 weeks old now so, I will start feeding them a low dose. All 4 plants are varying in height so I’m interested to see if I can manage an even canopy.
Not too much to report this week, I still hate this stage of growth 😂
This week has been rather interesting again. The new plants are almost 3 weeks from seed now. Pheno #3 was the smallest and has now overgrown #2, she is showing a lot of leaf mutations though so I’m curious to see how she does in flower. #1 is still my prize pheno so far in terms of vigor.
The mainline girl however has been lacking this week. Despite feeding and showing slight burnt tips, she still appears a little pale. My best guess is she is root bound and showing signs of stress. Which makes sense because she’s been in a plastic half gallon pot for over a month now..She’ll have to wait at least another week though until my flower area is open again:(
This week has been going well for the new seedlings. Ended up topping them down to their third node as I need them to get as bushy as possible and they were getting a little tall for my liking. They had beautiful clean roots when transplants as well
The mainline girl however... oh man! Lol it’s been a really bad week for her and it’s all my fault. When I went to transplant her I noticed she had been suffering from a bit of root rot with yellowish roots and made a second mistake by transplant her into damp promix🤦♂️ Double noob move on my part. So I’ve been letting her dry out as much as possible. I stopped feeding her orca a few weeks ago too so that probably didn’t help and being in a half gallon pot for over a month root bounded her a bit as well.
On top of everything I’ve removed her branches so she only has 4 nodes coming off half a node if that makes sense... basically imagine an 8 cola mainline chopped in half to only 4 colas. Needless to say she’s had a rough life lmao
She didn’t like mainlining from the start if you go back to the previous weeks and I’d much rather have more symmetry with each plant only growing 4 branches.
Overall I major lesson for me which I am happy to have learned from.
At this point I just need her to recover or else I will be forced to scrap her and try again but it’s okay because I have clones started of each pheno.
There’s been a ton of growth for all the plants. They had a bit of light stress after transplanting but have since recovered. I ended up topping the mainline girl once again her new growth was far too damaged from the root rot we experienced. I’ve been drying the pots to the point where the leaves just start to droop, just for the next few waterings at least.
I have all fairly different phenos so far.#1 is a little on the stretchy side but my most vigorous with the most nodes.#3 is almost identical to #1 but shows a lot of leaf mutations. #2 is the slowest and shortest of the 4 plants but has the thickest and most consistent branching. And #4 also seems to have longer node spacing.
Hoping I can veg for just one more week to let the root mass build up as well as get some yeild out of this run.
Can’t believe we’ve been growing from seed in here for over 8 weeks? Originally this was a single plant diary that could’ve been a 16 cola mainline but a month ago I started 3 more seeds that were topped once.
My goal is to keep the best pheno from this run, not focusing on yeild. I even dimmed my lights down to 40%. Had some minor light stress and nute burn but overall they are looking happy.
I will be flipping these ladies this week😁😁Can’t wait to see how these flowers develop although, I am a little concerned about how some of these phenos will stretch🤞
Not too much to report this week. The girls have and will continue to stretch into next week. Still no flowers have formed.
Need to adjust my feed slightly for the 3 newer plants. They got a little hungry this week.
The plants seem a little stretchy for my liking. I dimmed my lights down to 50% this run so, I’m sure I’ve just been blasting all my previous grows which kept em really short lol.
Going to defoliate and do some minor pruning at the end of next week.
Day 21 of flower for these girls. A lot more exciting growth has been happening this week!
#1 has the biggest buds and most nodes. #2 is starting to show some colour already and has decent sized buds considering she is the smallest. #3 is the runt of the pack. She did amazing in veg but is lacking in every way in flower. Wont give up on her just yet though. #4 is the frostiest with similar node spacing to #1.
Ended up doing a HEAVY defoliation.. more than I ever have. It hurts so much removing healthy leaves 😥 but I know they’ll thank me later :)
It’s definitely been a learning curve growing 4 different phenos in a small 2x2x4 space. My lights will also remain at 50% for the rest of the grow as I am all out of vertical space.
Had a slight hiccup this week where I overfed potassium, gave them plain water the next feed and started seeing deficiencies😂 the challenges of working with different strains I guess, or Im a terrible grower😅
Overall they are doing well. Chunking up and really starting to smell! I’ve been touching the sugar leaves to get a sample and so far #4 is killing it in the terp and frost department. Her terms are even a bit more unique compared to the others😄😁
Praying to the weed Gods we can keep things smooth sailing in here🤞
The girls have been starting to really bulk up now and getting very sticky! Just from doing a minor leaf strip my fingers are glued shut 😂
They don’t grow into massive colas like I’m used to but I really do enjoy growing these golf ball sized nugs.
At first I was liking pheno #4 but lately #2 has been making a comeback😯 I’ve actually been rooting for her from the start because she is the frostiest of the pack, has an amazing plant structure with thick stems and short node spacing. Her only downside is that she lacks some vigor.
Considering I only had 4 plants this hardly a pheno hunt but out of what I have, I am impressed thus far.
Turned my lights up to 50%. They’re really close to the canopy because I’m maxed out in height.
Going to slowly start reducing my feed as we are in the final weeks!
We’re at the final stretch now😁😁
It looks like I’ll be going to 9 weeks in flower so I think I will keep feeding for about another week.
I think I’ve found my winner pheno so hopefully she passes the smoke test🤔
Can’t wait to chop these ladies. They smell absolutely amazing. The terps are very on the wedding cake side with a hint of gas👌
Getting so close now😁😁
Looks like we’ll have to go another week to let the lowers finish up.
Seeing a lot more colour now and they absolutely dank!!
Can’t wait to chop these ladies👌
Harvested on day 63!
We got some amazing fade on some of these girls:) and I only flushed for 3 days this time around. I want to try and see how not flushing works out based on the research I’ve found.
I have a frost pheno that checks all the boxes I’m looking for but we’ll know for sure in a couple of weeks. The terps on these girls are leaning towards the wedding cake with some gas ⛽️ 🎂😁😁
This was my first Pheno hunt so I wasn’t focusing on yeild this run. I’m glad to report though that I have found my keeper pheno! She has a lot of the qualities I look for in a plant😁
We went a lot lighter on the lights and nutes this run so I’m curious to see if I can dail things in more🤔
The high is the strongest I’ve grown to date and not to mention a beauty to stare at and smell. She’s got that gas all day⛽️🎂☃️🤘
