Day #4 update
I'm shocked, amazed, astounded, thankful and just plain happy that the cold and rain didn't kill these babies! I saw the temperatures get down to 47f after that cold, rainy day. I have checked on them and took some photos today and they're appearing to bounce back!
Of my 3 varieties, I was most worried about these OG Kush seeds since they had *just* popped above the soil before the weather turned.

Day #2 update
- Cold and rainy. 57f and yuky out. Glad I used the cups over the seedlings. I checked them and a few are breaking the soil in spite of the rotten weather! In fact, these OG Kush are ONLY ones breaking the surface right now (amnesia haze and sour diesel are still buried).
=============
Bought seeds from North Atlantic Seed Company (and also received two sour diesel as "feebies"!)
I am growing these OG Kush Autos along with two other strains. All were dropped in water on a Saturday morning, soaked for 12 hours and then moved to damp paper towel in baggies. I am planting them on a monday afternoon.
Of these three varieties, these had the longest tap roots of them all.
For each variety, one seed will be in a 5 gallon smartpot with happyfrog potting soil and the other seed will be in natural soil which I dug out to to roughly 5 gallon size and then loosened the soil and mixed about 1/3 the volume with compost.
Not sure if the plastic cup is needed, but I'm giving it a try. I drilled two 1/4 in holes in each cup.
(Newbie here, so I am making some of this stuff up as I go!)
Hey there, Thanks so much for running a diary of our genetics 🙌 Let us know if you need any assistance, we’re more than happy to help. Happy Growing !!! 🌱☘️🌴🍀🌿🌳
@Fast_Buds, thank you very much for your offer! This is my 1st time growing and I think I dodged a proverbial bullet here. The weather turned cold and rainy right after popping these in the ground, but it looks like they ALL may make it!
Congrats and too bad about the rain. I realized this year that rain can actually knock trichomes off the plant so rain during late stage flowering is bad not just because of the risk of mould. That’s an advantage of growing in bags because you can move them out of the rain (or into the sunlight) when needed. Better luck next year. Cheers.
