Right back at it!
Taking what I learned from the last go around to heart here and getting right to it!
Lesson #1 is that this time the Rockwool cup is sitting much higher in the big basket and my temps arent as cold!
No problems thus far, we've got successful germination on both seeds and some little baby leaves poking their heads up!
One step at a time but a week in the books.
So far so good, both plants getting their toes into the pool faster than I recall ever seeing which is awesome! I'm really hoping that I have a better technique down this second run.
I'm increasing the calmag this week a bit just comparing to my previous journals and seeing where I was running into mag deficiencies before. Hydros supposed to be fast lol so I wanna see if I can get these going without problems if I can flip them sooner than the last round.
Didn't update last week because I had an unexpected, almost catastrophic run in with some slime. It has been very hot here and my Rez temps were creeping up into the 70s and I didn't want to go as heavy as I had been on the h202 and UC roots for fear of nuking these little sprouts.
This time last week all the leaves were very yellow and wilty and the little bits of root showing actually we're so weak they ripped off when I tried to rinse the slime out. One week on this biological agent Miicrobial Mass Pro and they have done a full 180. I had played around with biological agents before with compost tea and such, but man for what a bottle of this stuff costs it's a no brainer over the opportunity cost of screwing around brewing tea every week.
This is two weeks now on this biological agent and I am convinced! The slime issues that I had been dealing with pretty much constantly seem to be gone for good and I've never had close to this much root mass before.
Today I upped the nutes and did a top at the third node. I don't know what to do with myself now that everything seems to be working and the sky isn't falling.
Things are moving along well. Did the secondary top to have 4 main colas and will play the lower branches by ear.
And again I can not understate how impressed I am with the Miicrobial Mass. Game. Changer.
Another week, another love letter to Miicrobial Mass Pro. Every day I'm more and more floored over the root development on these bad bitches.
The bigger plant has started to show some signs of deficiencies so turned the feed up.
Both plants are now trained and topped the same, minus the lobe I accidentally broke off the small one. I blame the fact that I'm doing so well on these on that, as with less immediate doom I find myself poking and prodding more often so it was a good reminder to chill the fuck out.
The big one is gonna have a ring of 12 colas with 2 more just a little below canopy height coming from the lower branches.
The small one is gonna be 10 to the main canopy with the same two slightly lower.
Light is up to 60% and going to be monitoring closely to see when I can bump to 80% and then bottle strength nutes.
My plan as of right now is to flip in 2 weeks.
Did a final LST of the bigger one, got all 14 main growth sites into a pretty good canopy if I do say so my self.
The little one is soldiering on, Its not gonna be as big as her sister but considering what my last grow looked like at week 7 of veg, I can't help but smile.
Started adding Rezin as I plan on starting the flip next water change.
1 week of 12/12 in the books and already getting some stretchhhhh. Dropped the silica to save some ppms for the massive bloom and gp3 bloom.
One last major defol and sucker clean up, I figure at this point whatever branches make it, make it. Starting to get a nice smell.
They're both drinking about 2 gal over the course of the week.
Please stop stretching. For the love of God please stop stretching. I can barely get them out of the box the size they're getting too. Gonna be a pain if they get real thick too but oh well, this is why we do it.
Can I get a big old F in the chat please. The one finally stopped stretching just in time for the other to show nanners and balls all over.
And then there was one.
Starting to fill out! Finally seems to have stopped stretching, except that the knuckle of my accidental super crop is flexing back out lol, not. enough. room.
Can. Not. Wait. To. Chop.
But I feel like I'm at the official Two More Weeks™️ point. Smells so dank and the buds are really dense. Her outdoor cousin went to the jars today so I'm really excited to have a more direct comparison between the outdoor dirt and the indoor hydro.
Stretched like a motherfucker but man the nugs are solid as a rock. Little bit of foxtailing due to the proximity of the light but that was a game of chicken I wanted to play out. I was initially hesitant on this strain after losing one plant to severe herming and the outdoor one not producing nearly as well. Convinced!
These things stretched like a mofo, and foxtailed a bit where they were too close to the light. But it smells like dank gold, and gave me a wet kilo of the densest, stickiest nugs I've grown yet. Lots of purple in the top colas too. The breeder claims 30~% THC, I'm not gonna get it tested but I can't wait to try it out.
@2Byte,
Cost is definitely an important factor to consider. I don't have extra money to throw into this, so trying to be cost efficient as possible. The pump I'm using comes from Harbor Freight and cost $11. Can with some ingenuity attack a 3/16 air line to it to use az your feed line.
Definitely gives the girls a head start in life and you will not need to readjust bucket solution height during the grow. I just start off with about a 1" gap below the basket.
@Captainonthego,
I've definitely thought about it, but I don't really have another $100 to spend on another pump for the top feed without attracting wife agro. I'm also running this whole setup off of one bathroom GFCI and don't want to put too much more on the one circuit
@medaddypig, bruh you saved my life. Piece of shit yellow PH pen was telling me 6.1, tried to calibrate and it fucked up, ended up buying a new pen and it was at 3!
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
Greetings from L.S.T 🙏🏼🌟
