As this method of putting the seeds directly in soil worked very well last time I repeated it, 9/9 germinated. I put them in egg trays to keep them all covered in the same film.
By the 5th day at midday they have sprouted and in the night I checked under the trays and some roots where passing to the soil under so I separated them and put every seed with it's part of the tray in their definitive pots (the cardboard then dissolves into the soil)
I used Plant Revolution's Great White powder first a bit sprinkled in the seeds and then into the holes in the pots
One seed had helmet head and kept me worried, it took several days to open (attached video) first I managed to remove the shell but the membrane was still covering it, I kept it under a plastic cover and misting it regularly to soften it until it started to rip, the last day I removed it and the cotyledons promptly opened.
First of all, thanks to all the ones who are wishing me good look with the grow :D
Most of the seedlings are growing their second true leaves this week, there is a couple that are delayed tho.
Not giving them much water because the soil is still moist underneath, just misting the surface to avoid over drying and rising air humidity.
Second week of vegetation
on 2021-07-24 was their first watering, about 550ml of water per plant with Fish-Mix.
Added an ultrasonic mist maker to help increase humidity.
A bit annoyed, one of the plants started flowering already, it was the biggest so I had high hopes for it :(
Lowered the lamp to increase light intensity
Started LSTing the bigger plants.
No watering this week, just spraying the surface of the soil to let it evaporate.
Struggling to keep air humidity high, if I close the tent temps climb over 33°c and if I let it open humidity lowers even to 10%
Changed bulb, new one emits around 20% more light, also lowered the lamp.
humidity was lower in the tent than the apartment so I put a big fan blowing air inside. Temperature and RH improved.
I will call this week flowering as most of them are.
I will maintain the white (MH) light for a couple of weeks as some of the plants are still transitioning.
The large fan put in the door of the tent helped keep humidity higher and temps lower.
No feeding nor water this week.
Another no water week, just spraying the surface of the soil occasionally to increase humidity
LST to increase light coverage and to get a consistent height of the bud sites.
Next week will be under HPS
Changed the lamp to HPS
A little bit of LTs, from now on is mostly watching them flower.
Gave them some water at the beginning of the week, just 600 ml per plant, and sprayed the surface of the soil the other days, mostly to help with humidity.
Flowering continues
The smells started to be stronger so I had to close the tent with the carbon filter extractor on, bad things for temps and humidity
Tnis week there is a change of light, my new Atreum Hydra 1000 arrived!
Plus a cheap Aliexpress panel, it's 50w and emits just a bit less light than the Atreum
Finally I won't be strugling with hight temperatures from the hps.
Week 7 of flowering.
They drink a lot more with the new lights, my theory is that sotmata with HPS were too closed due to the high temps, now that temps and humidity are much more friendly they can transpire more.
Not so impressed with the results. Plants ranged from 12g to 25g.
I struggled a lot with heat and low humidity through the grow, luckily I bought LED light for my next grows.
Happy growing! I hope you get some good results! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
