Started in a cup of water, transferred to paper towel the following day. Everything went perfect I thought during this period. Used Fox Farms ocean forest mix.

Everything was going great at first. Till I decided they must need more light. They started to curl up and droop. Leaf tips were pointing down and the edges were curling up. I initially thought I must have overwatered them, didn’t notice how high the daily high temp was, once I realized that, I turned the light down a bit, and adjusted the air conditioning lower than what it was at (for the grow location).

Things went really well. They LOVED their new pots. The one, Lois I think I named her.. her getting a bigger container after the others seemed to really stunt her growth. When I transplanted the first 9, there were no visible roots. When I transplanted Lois, I could see her roots. Was starting to think about how I was gonna train these girls too. The new tent and gear was fantastic!! - Mars hydro tsl 2000 - 2 6 inch cloud line exhaust fans s6(?) - 6 inch carbon filter for the new fans^

Great week, went by quick. Really got my second grow tent dialed in. Fimmed one of my auto’s at the behest of someone on Reddit. Wish I would’ve filmed 2 or 3 total instead of just 1. Thank you all who liked my previous weeks, I appreciate it very much. I don’t wanna jinx it lol. Everything’s going great tho. Also added some “recharge” during one of the waterings. Also bought a dehumidifier, should come on Tuesday. One interesting thing that happened. I had purchased an 8x8 tent without measuring my room first. It turned out that it would not fit the room I planned on using but I had already purchased it. Tried canceling it with amazon, they wouldn’t allow it. Got a 4x8x80 instead and that’s what you guys see in my diary. So I’m stuck with this 8x8, try to go through returning on Amazon and they won’t allow drop off, pickup only. My gf and I forgot they were coming and missed the pick up. I called amazon to complain about this issue, eventually got a manager, and she ended up crediting me the $425 for the 8x8, and letting me keep it!!! That was awesome, though in hindsight I probably spent over 2k on this subject just in the past 30 days. Anyhoo, I hung my extra Mars hydro ts 1000, I did some light map ppfd research and am just seeing if the plants end up liking it or not. I’m ready to remove the extra light if they don’t respond positively to it. Cheers!

Plants seem to respond oddly to watering…. It’s like they look like they want water, but then when they get it, they act like they don’t want it… super weird. Maybe since I’m new I don’t have the knack for knowing how much to give them ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It looks like you are growing in soil. Stick your finger in the dirt. If the soil is wet before you get to the first knuckle do not water. If you hit moist soil when your finger is between the first and second knuckle it is time to water. If your finger goes in to the second knuckle and the soil is still dry you should water more frequently.

I met this kid yesterday that said he waters his plants every day and not to LST. My plan was to make the plants grow in a spiral essentially. I just wanted to hear everyone else’s opinion on this kids statements. He has like 2.5 grows under his belt where I only have .33 grows.

Lst for maximum canopy exposure, don't water everyday because that doesn't let the roots stretch to search for water and expand. You want to find a good watering schedule for your plants, let the soil dry out but not completely. You'll see your plants slightly droop, then water and they will perk up after 15 mins. Its something you practice to master. I've seen plants that get hand watered everyday and it's not beneficial. But a soil/coco on a drip system getting watered everyday on a timer does work.

Pretty good week, no problems. Added a dehumidifier yesterday (Saturday). And also bought a new light. The light should arrive on Tuesday. Looking forward to that because then I’ll be able to spread them out further so they’ll all have as much room to grow as they need. I believe they’ve started flowering, that happened like day 24 when I first noticed the white hairs coming out of the bud sites. They really took off growing mid way through the week. Like twice the growth as the prior week. I haven’t been defoliating per se, I have been tucking & tying leaves down. Many of the secondary flowering nodes have actually surpassed the main cola’s of my plants height wise. Those that did I tied slightly back down. Really wish I could cut a few branches off them without stressing them out. Oh well. Such is the bane of autoflower growing. The new light I bought is a Colofrog 2021 CF 2400 LED w/Samsung LM301H Osram Diodes. From what I gathered online, it’s a better light than the Mars hydro tsw 2000 I currently own. I’ve got my ts 1000 in the tent currently just to get through until the new light comes Tuesday.

Bit more eventful of a week this one. Just going about my normal business when I was checking them over making sure all sex organs were female. Noticed that something seemed amiss. I took me a bit to figure out why one of my girls hermie’d, but a bit of thinking back brought something to the forefront. I had not had the 3rd and 4th pieces of shelving, and since I had the shelving upside down, I had to balance them on the edge with a piece of wood. I had rearranged my plants after watering, and did not make sure each one was steady, when I went to open my tent on probably day 27 or 28, i saw one of my babies had fallen off the shelf and was crushed up against the wall of the tent at a 45 degree angle! I was like NOOOO sunflower not you!!! So at least I know why the darn thing did what it did. I removed it from the others as soon as I noticed. Wanting to see the root structure I chopped it at the base of its stalk. The whole pot had very healthy roots so that was good to see. Was still having trouble with the plants seeming to reject the cal-mag and other nutes I was giving it. Only had pool ph strips. Yakno, the ones that only have a range down to 6.2….. More on that next week.

My plants have SO SO many nodes. In my opinion they have way way too many branches. Is there anything at all I could do as far as cutting/pinching, some of them off? They’re autoflowers and I’ve only really found people saying don’t do it.

It's to late to do it now. If you do it will stress the plant out a lot because its already into flowering. If you have a fast growing autoflower that responds well to training, you want to do all your training before you hit the 2nd week of flowering. I do heavy training, lollipop, defoliation. I try to do everything during vegetation stage for Autoflowers. Check out my OG Diesel Kush autoflower diary. I did a lot of cutting and training to it.

Was having quite a bit of difficulty with leaves yellowing, turning brown, and dying off. Couldn’t figure out what the deal was. Finally I ended up getting the ph up/down kit with the wide range PH tester. Learned that lesson the hard way. Mid way through the week when it was delivered, I put a bit of water through and tested the run off… 4.5 🤦‍♂️ Can’t believe I overlooked this. Used fox farms sledgehammer and added ph up, put water in at about 7.5/8.0 and tested the run off again and ideal ph was attained. Hopefully smooth sailing from here on out.

The struggle continues, still losing leaves left and right. One of them has like 5 leaves left 😵‍💫 Still fighting tooth and nail against the PH. God knows where I screwed this up. Even using Ph up and then testing the run off with wide spectrum drops and a mid-tier level Digital Ph pen that I calibrated to 4.00/7.00/10.00 STILL not within the 6.0-7.0 range. High 5’s. A few of my plants are significantly more mature than others. A couple of them have had trichomes for 10 days plus and I’m seeing the first few amber’s while others haven’t even started getting frosty yet. Added some decent changes to the tent tho that I’m pretty proud of. 🍻 Here’s to hoping these girls bulk up and finish soon. Also, I accurately reported the nutrients I gave them and the dosages I used. Previous weeks I was not providing exactly what I was giving them. No one has gotten any nutrients for about 10 days + before today. Any suggestions or extra tips would be greatly appreciated.

Any suggestions on how to proceed? Like I said I’m losing leaves left and right, I have seen multiple other people complaining about this strains finicky sensitivity to nutes. Also Like 3 or mine are already showing amber trich’s, 3 lack trichomes entirely. Progressive harvest?

If leaves are coming off rapidly it’s likely ph issue causing lockout. I’m in hydro but just had the same issue. Hope you get it sorted.

Likely your ph is out either in the soil or your reader. Do a proper calibration and check the runoff waters ph and ec levels. Cheers

Just been dealing with my crazy ph… no joke put in ph up to 10.6…. Came out the other end at 6.3. The differences in these plants varies greatly. Some seem to be a significant bit ahead of the others. Thinking some have another week, others even longer. There’s 3 most mature, 3 medium mature, and then another 3 that you can just tell have a ways to go. Almost finished with this first grow. Very excited to start smoking the shit but I’m not rushing anything. My plan this week is to give the 3 that are less mature than the others their final dose of nutrients, and probably use ph’d sledgehammer on the ones looking to be close. Next batch of babies is already two weeks in or so. Theyre growing just fine. I also got 2 more mars hydro tsl 2000’s, returned the colofrog light, though it didn’t add much heat, it had nowhere near the coverage of my original mars tsl2000. A bunch of new fans too. So 3 tsl 2000’s, and 1 ts 1000. Quite a lot of light.

Even though they were all born on the same day starting with 10 seeds (6/23/21), 4 out of the 9 (because 1 hermed) matured and finished much quicker than the others. I would say a couple of them have at least another 2 weeks to go. Slowly but surely. My fiancé and myself wet trimmed most. Never trimmed before. Shitload of larf unfortunately. I doubt I have any nugs that weigh heavier than 3.5. Should’ve done a few things differently but do it goes. I made sure to maintain “low and slow” as best I possibly could. 9 plants all at the same age was a ton of work! Used my original tent to dry in. Conditions were about 70 Fahrenheit, and 55%RH. Bought one of them tiered mesh drying racks, and hung it in my 2x2. Few fans at the bottom, and my intake fan at the top of it, exhausting into my 4x8. I’d reckon I got about 3 ounces out of the 4 I took down earlier this week. Amazing feeling smoking your own weed that YOU grew. Seeing it in your jars. It was definitely all worth it. I almost bought another 2 ounces off my weed supplier. Then I realized I didn’t need him anymore. Saved me three hundred bucks right there. Idk If im just unlucky or what, but only a couple of mine had a slight purplish tint. Sorta disappointing. It smokes great tho, even still being in the beginning portion of its cure. I fucked up in multiple aspects, chalk those up to learning. Definitely going to defoliate around day 30, and also make sure my lights aren’t too close like they were here. My greatest mistake was the PH, it was improper for about 3 weeks. Took that long for it to get sorted out. Thus more than 1/4 of the plants life was spent in not perfect conditions. I was putting in water at 10.7, and getting 6 out as runoff…. With that being said, I’ve now got 4 plants to completion under my belt, soon to be 9 so I’m moving away from soil and closer to hydro. Bought an automatic drip feeding system I plan to use for coco. I’m done with fox farms ocean forest. It may be alright, but I’m spending way too much time watering/feeding. Thank you to everyone who commented, I appreciate it. Gonna keep doing what I’m doing and try to do it better than this time. Shooting for fatter nugs no doubt.

Still goin… can’t seem to get rid of these girls. Story of my life 😅 One of the five remaining is about ready for chop, two have terrible looking foxtails that look like they’ll NEVER be done. Got my tent even more dialed in.. I feel like I deserve some sort of award for my setup lol. Anyhoo. Starting to focus more on my 1 month old’s and the 4 new babies I just germinated several days ago. They just poked through the soil today.
