Day 1 is July 10
ON GROWING --
~4 weeks before my Main Tent harvests.
Decided to get a 2x2x4 to start new plants.
Went for Mephisto - 50 Shades of Grape.
Will move these girls to main tent in 3 to 4 weeks.
Will use this tent as dry room after switch.
The beginnings of an eternal harvest setup!
Planning on using some root inoculants this time around. Humic and Fulvic acids for sure... And maybe add more nutes this time instead of just plain bloom ones...We shall see...
ON GROWING --
Used recharge for the first time.
Don't really know if it is working or not.
Because it could easily be the genetics.
But I trust the vets who tell me Recharge is gold.
So, I will just assume that it is. 😅😀
Nothing special here.. just a normal first week. Excited for these 🍇🍇🍇 to grow!
Happy growing everyone! 😎🌱
ON GROWING --
In the last 3 days, I only opened the tent and checked on the girls once. Proud of myself for being more detached and being less of a helicopter dad.
GRN is growing the fastest. Which worries me because my last grow's fastest growing girl fox-tailed even with enough care and attention.
YLW and RED are normies. Nothing to report there.
Looking forward to their first bending/LST in the next 10-14 days!
ON GROWING --
💚 GRN: topped her on day 18. And she bounced right back. Not just that... But day 21, she was asking for more N! So, yeah... Meph genetics are for real. Topped, no recovery time, and just got thirstier instead? Can't beat that.
💛 YLW ♥️ RED: not that I notice the N deficiency on green. I can see very early sign of it on these two as well.
On my last grow (which was my first grow), I would be half panicking with this deficiency and already have my head spinning with worry. Now? I am happy that I saw it immediately and knew what it was... and more than that, I am happy that they are asking for more N... they are thirsty!!!
Will give them some vegg nutes on the next feeding. That should stop the leaves from their light yellowing!
Happy growing everyone! 🌱 😎
Injure your plants and train them... But don't i injure yourselves in bed! 😉 😜
Signs of sex finally out.
Should flower in a few days.
Will ramp up bloom nutes.
Will do light LST before then.
Journaling gets hard.
But I wanna do it for myself.
Good to write thoughts out.
Will do so later.
Haven't taken well of these girls much.
Been to busy with school and work and preparing to move continents (where it's not legal to grow). 😭😢
Anyway, defoliated bottom leaves.
Adjusted LST.
Probably went hard on the bloom nutes.
And they're burning for it.
But they will be fine.
Happy growing, my lovely little ladies! 🌱😎
I missed 2 feedings by a day each.
Was busy and they suffered for it.
During the stretch phase too. Double boo!
Won't let that happen again (hopefully).
Good thing cannabis is resilient AF.
This week's activities include --
LST adjustments.
Some defo of bottom growth.
Semi-lollipop.
But didn't want to push hard.
It's still an auto, after all.
I see some minor K deficiency on 💚GRN. But she will catch up. And should be fine soon. Hungry for a topped girl! ♥️ got some spots on her leaves too... She will be fine as well.
I would say that 💛YLW is the healthiest. But who knows. I might just fk her up later and make mistakes too.
One thing I've learned? There are no perfect plants! And there are no perfect grows. You gotta let them (and yourself) go through growing pains (pun intended)...
That's the beauty of smoking your own... You know you both went through those ups and downs of growth together... #stonertalk
Don't dwell too much on your grow errors.
Just try your hardest and most importantly enjoy! 🌱😎
Did that single major defo today.
Took out all bottom leaves on all 3.
Much more aggressive lollipop bottoms.
Usually do this on week 7 for autos.
They're at the end of their transition.
Their flowers are thickening and RH is getting high.
Heavy defo allows for more air passage through the foliage, allows for nutes and minerals to be focused on top growth instead of bottom. Haven't really touched these girls much so let's see how they react.
💚 GRN was topped around week 3. She recovered well from that but has not recovered from me missing two watering days in a row.
💛 YLW remains to be the most normal looking one with little to no discoloration despite missed feeding days.
♥️ RED is like green. Now showing K deficiency because I missed those watering days. But not worried about either of them.
I'm about to miss another one or two feeding days again because I'm traveling out for 5 days soon. Trying to find ways to mitigate that. But will just trust that they are resilient enough... We shall see.
Just won't expect the fattest nor stickiest buds this season I guess.
May you and your plants growth be mutually beneficial to each other! 😎 🌱
TO ALL GROW VETS OUT THERE:
Think of yourself on your first year of growing.
With what you know now... If you could give that person 2-3 nuggets of grow advice, what would you tell your noob-grower self?
Peak flower mode.
Missed a day of watering again because of travel. But this time they didn't suffer as much.
I can tell they could have been a lot fatter if I waan't lazy with my feeding schedule.
Best thing about growing is that the plant doesn't judge you! LOL! You just get what you give...
This time I gave a lot less effort .. I can tell that my plant will also just give me the same. It's mutual partnership.
Have an awesome grow ahead! 🌱 😎
Started flushing today.
A little early but we're moving out.
Most likely going to turn most of these into bubble hash.
If I'm making bubble hash from these, do I still need to flush them? I guess not right? Just the buds I'm smoking. Hmm...
D76. Almost chop time soon.
10 plus days of flush now.
2 more weeks? Hehehe!
Just like most autos they are ripening at different times. Which I actually kind of like now.
Will still harvest them all at the same day to have that varied mix and taste - even if growing the same strain or cultivar.
GRN is going to be a week or two late. Makes sense because she was topped.
RED is going to be early… she did catch up during flower stretch and was on lead since.
YLW is clearly the healthiest and is fading to black real nice.
Grow them up!!! 😎 🌱
Half of these will be turned into bubble hash. When making yours after you harvest… do you freeze the buds immediately after chop then bag it out of freezer? Or dry/cure them first before bubble bagging? Why? What are the (dis) advantages of both? Thanks!
Before or after curing is fine, freeze first either way. Fresh bud=live resin, cured will produce a more traditional hash product. Do it both ways and pick your favorite.
D77. Just did a pre chop haircut. Starting 48 hours of darkness now.
D79. Chopped and full hair trim day. Went through each nug. Separated them into 4 sizes: popcorn, small, mods, tops. Going for stemless, quick dry for ~10 days or so.
D90. Start curing in mason jars after 11 days of drying in the closet (w fan and exhaust). Will burp at least once a day for the first week. Then once a week after that with Boveda packs ready (58%). Wish I had more jars! Ugh!
~D120 - finally smoked a doob of this fine lass.
Smoke report below.
