Set two in a coir/soil(FFOF)/perlite mix and have been watering with minimal plain pH'd water daily to keep moist. These are 1gallon air pots meant for seedlings and easy transfer, they are Velcro up the side for easy removal, love these things (by Vivosun) Happy to see one poked out today 7/9/21. Hoping the other follows soon!
This'll be my 3rd run overall and my 2nd with this strain (was very happy with this strains results in my first grow).
My plan for this run is to have the two grow side by side and harvest one of them at the 'correct' time and then let the other go amber for the THC degradation to increase CBN levels.
Also hoping to get a better feel for the new light after frying some of the leaves in my auto run.
2nd one showed on 7/12! I will see ya'll in a week.
***8/8 Note: CBN plans canceled, will try again with clones off Athena***
Here they are a week in. The one that was late by 3 days has some funky leaves, but we'll give her time. The other one is shooting up and ready to grow.
Surprise appearance by my finger for you.
SF-2000 is running at 80%
Fed half seedling strength, nervous about it but the results look good. Trying to avoid the early paleness I saw in my last grow.
7/24 Here they are two weeks in. They are only a few days apart in germination but you can tell one is much stronger than the other so far.
I'm using quarter strength seedling nutrients to noticeable results on both though, 7/23 was their second feeding.
Likely going to top the right side this weekend some time.
7/25 - Topped, I hope. The cut was maybe off a bit.
Cleaned out the tent from the last grow. Got rid of the humidity tray I used in grow 1, it was more of a garbage receptacle in grow 2. The small humidifier has long replaced it's need. Easily can get the tent to 60-65% when needed.
May need to replace my inline fan and carbon filter before flower, I'm thinking AC infinity, I've loved their cabinet and PC fans.
Transplanted from their (velcro sided transplant airport from Vivosun - not a paid advertisement, just love these things)1gal 40% Fox Farm Ocean Floor & 60% premixed coir/perlite medium into 5gal 60% FFOF 40% coir/perlite.
Some root pics for you, you can see the larger of the two (Athena) outgrew the 1gal pot rather quickly and took to topping well. The smaller of the two (Tinkerbell) is growing very slowly in comparison but we still believe in her!
Slight yellowing near the bottom, last feed was just water, had been feeding with very low strength nutrients for past 3 waterings of 1/3 gallon each into the 1gal pots. So could just be wanting for more nitrogen, but wanted it to dip into the new pot of FFOF first. Will update tonight after I ratio out the nutrients for the next few feeds.
8/4 update: Updated nutrient uptake in stats above, netted down for LST, pics will come next week.
For our prized Athena, we have upped the nutrients from quarter strength to half strength (or about what I typically use the entire grow) with a focus on more CalMag (and B-52 just this feed, then back to minimal) - so far none of the previous deficiencies with this light are showing - happy with that.
For poor Tinkerbell, whom we still believe in, we are remaining at quarter strength. Looking quite... unusual. Haven't even Topped her yet as of post, but considering doing so soon.
Athena has been topped, sorta-kinda manifolded, and is being kept low with the net/LST. I'm planning on letting her fill out this week and then do some mild defoliation where required. Would like to get some clones off her if at all possible.
Might also let Athena keep growing to fill the tent since Tink is moving so slowly - would still like to let both of them flower of course, but this does kinda put a wrench in my CBN run plans. Perhaps if I get some clones off of Athena I can make it happen on that run, for now I'm just curious as to how Tink finishes if at all.
(Note on Athena: Check out that FOUR DAY DIFFERENCE!)
I have topped the little mutant (Tink) finally, probably won't have time enough to be actually manifolded the pace this thing is moving.
The big one (Athena) is doing awesome. I'm just training her flat under the net and I've topped a few stalks that start to outgrow the others and then split and spread the growth out as they get taller. The result is plenty of top facing flower sites. I'm currently only doing mild defoliation to increase light to new potential flower sites at the top, but otherwise leaving her be.
I'd really like to give her the chance to take up as much as 3x2' of space in veg under the net before I flip and then let it stretch up. This would leave a 1x2 area for the other plant if it flowers.
May start spraying for clones this week on Athena.
Did some mild defoliation but otherwise just staying the course with training low and wide. Tink is actually responding to the defoliation, which is fun.
Athena is going gangbusters - can't wait to flip her into flower.
Going to alter the nutrient intake , will update once done.
Ok: watered both tonight actually (still 8/23 - pics from 8/21-23)
Athena received 3tsp of FFGB, while Tink received half that.
Athena received B-52 while Tink did not
Athena & Tink both were fed with same amount of Cal-Mag & FFBB.
Tink fed with Piranha, Voodoo and Tarantula. Athena did not receive these.
8/24: Gratuitous post feed shot
This will be the last week of veg. Going to wait for the next watering to actually start walking the lights down (2/hrs at a time to keep stretching at a minimal).
Will use the root nutes for AN on Athena for 2 weeks afterwards.
Tink, the little mutant, is finally responding, can't wait to see what she does in flower!
8/30 update: Nutrients updated, added AN root nutes and Fox Farms Tiger Bloom to Athena - I only feed with nutes every other watering - plain pH water on off feeds.
Brought the lights down so that they'll be short an hour today, two tomorrow.
Anticipated walk down flowering schedule to reduce stretch:
8/29 - 4am to 12am (20/4)
8/30 - 4am to 11pm (19/5)
8/31 - 5am to 11pm (18/6)
9/01 - 6am to 10pm (16/8)
9/02 - 7am to 9pm (14/10)
9/03 - 7am to 8pm (13/11)
9/04 - 7am to 7pm (12/12)
Walked down from 20/4 to 12/12 over the past week. Definitely stretching a bit, but so far just an 1.5 inches.
Nutrients have been modified slightly, next watering will be a clean feed.
Can't blame just one thing, but after adding the root nutes and switching to 12/12 both of these girls started drinking faster. Athena got a bit droopy on me Saturday morning and we had to water early (I typically water right before lights go out vs right after they come on). But everything is responding well. Athena is chasing the lights up, trying to keep it at 20"+
We'll see how much she stretches this week
Letting them grow! Very very surprised at the growth the little mutant Tinkerbell has been giving off, glad we let her shine.
Athena is still a beauty that thing. I took a less hands on approach to the to defoliation than last time with this strain since I felt like I was just fighting her weekly and she kept getting bushier - so going with less is more approach and seem to have the same amount of flower sites in terms of tops/auxillary. I'll either harvest top down or let my wife use the small buds to make tinctures with her essential oils.
Went ahead and dropped B-52 for a week, and shouldn't need the root nutes anymore (man are these girls thirsty now though! Top roots on Athena look monstrous when I water!). Pushing the tigerbloom full speed now, teetering off on grow big.
See you all next week. Happy growing!
Yes that is a set of balls friend. I’m sorry. RIP plant.
You can try to remove them and keep it going but if a male doesn’t tickle your fancy to play with then get rid of it.
I wouldn’t want it in my garden.
Well, Tinkerbell went hermaphrodite on us. We saw a few pollen sacks and removed them, and then two days later it had way more so we cut it down and tossed it 😭
Athena is still doing quite well though!
Starting to become a field of flowers in there. Have at least another 4 weeks until ready to harvest I would think at this point. Starting to give off a slight odor, but nothing crazy yet.
Getting ready to do some defoliation this week, to provide some more air circulation and light. So far, I barely defoliated in veg, but the base of the plant has been pruning herself since flowering efficiently.
She has been doing very well, no signs of any deficiencies that I can tell. Still doing clean feeds between each watering with nutrients, but allowing for a bit more FFTB than I have in the past.
Sorry for the late post - pics from weekend, just now getting them up. Added a second net to hold the weight - did some moderate Defoliation for light and airflow - lower buds are responding well now.
Seems like she was very thirsty just a few weeks ago but has slowed down. Responds after feedings well still. I think I'm a still good 3-4 weeks out from harvesting, which seems odd since my first grow with this strain only took 8 weeks in flowering, but I'll roll with it.
She is putting on a bit of weight, maturing along fine. I did a heavy feed of the tigerbloom the feed before last, and last feed was clean. Going to start adding black strap molasses soon and back off nutrients. Likely have 2 weeks left.
So it's already Thursday, but these pics are from last weekend.
Letting her mellow out and mature. Harvesting in 10 or so days I believe, letting her go a bit late. The bottom buds are just now maturing out, and if I get some CBN in the top flowers I'm not against it.
Last week before harvest!
Have set the lights down to only 50%
Only blackstrap molasses and pH'd water. We probably have about two more watering left before she is cut down.
The smell is INTENSE!
A great harvest, happy to have yielded an additional 2 ounces over my last grow on this strain. Plus 9.5 grams of dry ice hash (used a 160 screen vs 220 this time as well).

Wonderful aromas of sweet citrus, mango, and a piney diesel backend.
Taste pretty much as it smells. Definitely a great daytime daily driver for medical patients who suffer from neuropathic, or otherwise chronic, pain. Helps relieve stiffness without being too overpowering in the head, at least for moderate users.
