Hi all. Welcome to this run withbthe Viparspectra XS1500 which i was kindly sent to try by their helpful rep Valerie. As I have a fairly good space to use for my main grow , it seemed an ideal time to explore a few options while I wait for space to appear following upcoming harvests. The opportunity hit at a good time and has now driven the future play time. lol The light is a full spectrum 150W( at the socket) , Dimmable and very well made unit. As summer is here now , my concerns of more heat being an issue have stopped me from adding my other light so the smaller 2ftx2ft area covered by the XS1500 is a good option , The heatsink is built into the case design with a finned top to dissipate the heat so no noisy fans. Switching it on to full power was a nice surprise as the footprint was way wider than I had expected and the actual coverage is even better for my Nursery to harvest plan.... I am growing autos perpetually at present and have been able to throughput the plants with just 2 lights and using the overlaps at the edges to bring seedlings along to veg/flowering, as harvesting is finishing. The timing had been working well but the plants were getting smaller towards the last runs . I gave it some thought and Rh % came to mind. With the perpetual runs not having a higher rh in their veg periods due to other plants needing a lower Rh% in flower , the vapour pressure deficit (vpd) was not within veg periods healthier range. This current run has exploded and filled my normal space very quickly which in turn means I cannot use the same principle as the last perpetual run of bringing the next ones along ready for the exchanges. The XS1500 takes care of this issue with it being perfect for an initial nursery light that is easily covering all the new seedlings but is also able to cover my experimental "5 plant 1 Pot" attempt. I have placed 5 of my own autob seeds from a previous seeding in a single 60 L pot and intend to strip them to their 4th nodes and only allow 2 mains per plant to develop and flower. Inam hoping to have 10 mains growing in it that will be under the xs1500 solely as the other plants outgrow the lights footprint and space they are in. They will go into the main grow space once able so i can really see how well this new light can flower with the 10 mains to fill the space. Until that point , I will diary as we go and see what we can achieve.

Day 7: Hi all. I hope you are well and your gardens green and fruitful?. After a full week under this little pocket rocket of a light , the girls are responding in kind. My initial thoughts on enough light to keep them all happy has been smashed ,mashed and trashed !!!!. This has been a learning curve on l.e.d and assuming small means less powerful !!. I learnt this lesson at the expense of the little ladies as it turns out. I had the xs1500 at full power and a good 30 inches away amd it nearly frazzled the two middle plants !!! ooops. Rhis was while they were daysbold and STILL under domes for humidity !. A fundamental error on my part ,assuming the size was somehow a concern. After seeing the damage and leeching amd realising, I removed rhe domes amd dropped the lights power to 40%( 75w!). Since doing this they have responded better and begun growing properly. This is one powerful light right here it seems. I think i may get to flower more than I initially intended with 2 only... A great start in my opinion , for the lesson alone !. Temps in the room are ridiculously high due to heatwaves here and at 31.6°c , an option to remove the driver from the light and extend it from the room would be a brilliant addition amd could also benefit closet growers where any heat loss is a benefit worthy of using. The colours on the leaves are looking good for photosynthesis now they are used to the soil and I know the spectrum is taken care of too . So far looking good and starting to grow. I was gutted that I lost 2 seeds and one of the Northern is now looking suspect but fighting so contacted the breeders following advice , I don't doubt they will endeavour to assist with this issue. Thank you to the reps on Gd for keeping an interest post sales. Makes a lot of difference. Unril next time , be well.

Day 14: After a week from hell with the heat often staying around 34-37°c while lights on , these little ladies have coped fairly well. i am down now to 5 on this run but the very small Northern light could also give up at some point as it is so tiny. The others are just starting to get moving and actually growing now. light now at full power so lets see how this week goes.

DAY 21: Hi all , been a busy week in the real world this week for me ( baby no 9 due anyway now !) . The light has been performing well with nk signs from the plants that they need to get more light and the smaller Gorilla cookies seem happy to Bush out just above the pot top . Must be plenty of light for them. I have no idea what's happening with the #2 Northern lights at all , it is in stasis I think.. Its sister is going crazy and needed a 90° bend at the 4th node to keep her tamed. She has grown past the super cropped bend already and begun heading upwards with her 5th node again. It has given the lower growth time to pull even and compete for the main bud status. The Gorilla cookie are spreading themselves out a little better now and hopefully once they hit flowering , the stretch will power them to send out their best tips for flowering. The Grandaddy,s Mimosa is doing well too and on par with the #1 northern lights for size. She is also showing female hairs at the bracts now which is great to see as it a first run out of my own seeds under this light. I am so far very impressed with this little looking but well powered light and wonder how good their biggest xs light could be in my grow room. Be safe and well growmies

DAY 29: Wooohoo, it is that exciting time when we notice more of the little white hairs poking up around the bracts and the tips take on a bursting opening of growth appearance. The main 2 in flower are the Northern lights #1 and Grandaddys mimosa. Both have started to stretch and will benefit from the planned l.s.t to keep them in their best light . Northern lights has taken a very healthy S-bend in her stem as she wanted to go tall from the beginning. Her growth rate has been excellent under the light and I can see her stretching will certainly have me pushing the lights footprint limits. Grandaddys mimosa has also added a nice bit of height at around 12 inches now. A good start for stretching too. She has space and I have been removing the larfy lower growth from rhem all to not waste energy. She is a little more advanced in flower then the northern light but very close. Both of the Gorilla cookies are starting to join the party now and look like they are still in veg and pushing tips up for flowering but no signs of bract hairs yet so they will hopefully match the size of the other 2 soon enough. They are a bushier appearance than the other 2 strains so I will have to make sure they dont get overgrown by their canopies after the stretch periods. The mutant Northern lights has still remained small and hopeful but I wont be holding out too.much hope on her. I contacted Fast buds and used their after sales service to discuss the failed seeds. They were excellent and only needed a few details of purchase and a couple of pics with some info on what happened and they have now replaced the 3 that I lost. Well done for keeping true to your word @fastbuds . THE LIGHT What can I say about this amazing piece of tech. A small unit, solidly made and delivering a punch way better than I honestly expected. I thought it was going to be ok to sprout them and bring them up together then remove most of them to grow with my other lights while I flowered a single plant under it. Seeing how bloody capable it is , has thrown that plan out of the window altogether...... I plan now to grow all 4 main plants to harvest and really push the limits of this sunshine in a shade. For 150w of power , it is having no problems providing plenty of par for all of the girls to max their photosynthesis needs. All of them are in homemade super soil and the lights are their main input from my end so something is keeping them very happy indeed. In a box or cupboard , this light could work wonders on a single plant or couple of trained but I feel this would be hiding a lot of potential and underestimating its abilities. A very happy grow here . Let's see how it progresses. Nice work Viparspectra. Until next time. Be safe and well.

Day 14 F. HOLY SMOKE THIS LIGHT KICKS ASS!!!. Lol Each week that passes has been a pleasant surprise. I expected I would have had to move a good portion of the plants over to my other space and just grow 1 or 2 under this Viparspectra xs1500. Yet her we are at week 2 ending with flowering plants who are all getti g plenty of light to convert into the growing buds. The #1northern lights is well underway with stretch and bud stacking while her midget sister tries to grow higher. The 2 Gorilla cookies are beginning their stretch now and showing fluffy tips that are the pistils bursting out. Both look like they could get very big indeed. I may have to move these two so I can get my Grandaddys mimosa and the big northern light right below this little powerhouse of sunshine. My Mimosa is really impressing me at how vigerous it is. She is stacking the buds up on her many limbs too. I did a minor defol to remove lower scrubby growth and will be keeping her focused on her mains. She looks very happy at the moment. The light really has impressed me this far and seeing buds appearing all over the plants isba promising sight. Lets see what they do in the next week. Be safe.

DAY 21 FLOWERING: Well it had to happen eventually!!! . I knew it would come to this point.....I had to be brutal and practical as I evicted the Gorilla cookies and the mutant Northern light to a different space... I now have the #1 Northern lights and the Grandaddys Mimosa directly under the XS1500 to really develop them both to the best I can. The light has done a great job developing all 5 to this point and I do think it could have finished them all at a push but , I think seeing how it can grow 2 auto plants in a 2x2 space will be worth the change of plan. I am impressed with this little light and never expected such a growth rate . I really would love to test their new p4000 to see what that beast can do. The northern lights has really worked hard this week on her bud structuring , she looks like she will be stacking her colas on each limb , just the way we like em in the space I have. I did take a little more weak lower growth out of her to focus on the stronger mains as we have hit the point of no more defol . She wont regrow leaf after this point now so the ones remaining will be all she has to power the photosynthesis during flowering. Sugar leaves do not do the same work as the fan leaves and with them being autos , I feel we need the extra boost more than in a photoperiod run. She looks like stretch has finished now too so her size is nice and stocky so she wont need to transfer nutes too far from the roots either. Grandaddys mimosa is also really developing some nice looking golf ball buds all over. She looks like she will be a long cola girl too which is perfect to keep the canopy and light distribution as even as possible with the Northern lights too. She smells a little fruity already and the hint of her Mimosa lemon father is also really evident. So far so good . The 2 Gorilla cookies and the other northern lights are all looking great after being grown under this light and I will include their harvest data in the diary at the end to avoid the diary going haywire. All in all this is going great now and continues to impress me with the capability of this unit. Come on #viparspectra , send me a p4000. Lol Be safe and well growmies.

Day 28 flowering: Another enjoyable week using this little ray of sunshine.. The 2 plants under it are thriving and showing perfect health. The coverage is plenty enough for both plants in their 30L pots and at a height of approx 18 inches above them both, has enough depth penetration to reach the lower growth developing. The Northern lights has some nice stacking colas forming which will hopefully end with a stout but bud heavy girl. Her golf ball tops are a good sign for the 3rd week flowering too. She has plenty of mains to help this happen I think. My Grandaddys Mimosa is also doing brilliant now and has so much growth on her to build nice buds onto. She looks a little more productive than the Northern light too so should be an interesting race. The others moved out of the lights canopy are all going well too. Looking forward to the Gorilla cookies too. All in all another great weeks performance from the Xs1500. Onward and upward growmies Be well .

Day 35 flowering: Hi all , I hope we are all healthy , sane , and loved in our worlds. It has been another productive week for the two ladies sat basking in the Viparspectra sunshine. The temps in the UK have been low the last few weeks so they can settle into a less hostile heat zone. They are continuing to use those reds and infrared to their advantage with building some.nice long colas among both plants. The lights penetration is really good so they are having no issues with lower bud growth at all so far. The Northern lights has really begun to cola stack now with approx 8 mains that ade swelling by the day. She looks like she could be a very nice yield based on those alone. Fingers crossed she keeps swelling. Her buds and pistils are crystal white at the moment with no signs of ageing so she is in her freshest state of flowering right now . This is a good sign of a longer possible flowering period than the 8 weeks usual. The Grandaddys mimosa is more advanced on her ripening with quite a few orange pistils ( dying off) being replaced by fresh ,white , vibrant ones ( new pollen catchers). She has a good covering of orange hairs already for her flowering stage and could be a very early 7 week harvest possibly. She is nowhere near as big as the Northern lights and is being elevated to keep her in the canopy but she has approx 10 mains that are looking shaggy and with a high leaf ratio too. She is starting to have a nice fruity tang to her smell now when watered or handled. She could ⁹ me by swelling up huge in the next couple of weeks but I wont be too worried if not. The light is performing really well and has done Viparspectra justice too. I am genuinely shocked at how capable it is for its size. The other strains are doing very well too with the Gorilla cookies looking very bud productive and big. They got an amazing start into flowering from the xs1500 and I wish they were under the new offering from their range but I am hoping to twist their arms into letting me try a couple of xs 4000's from showing how well we can use this light. Lol we can but hope..... Be safe well growmies

Day 42 Flowering: Hi all. These girls are motoring along so nicely now and using every available lumen that this wicked little beast of a light can throw out. The Northern lights #1 has spent the week putting new pistils out to join the nice fresh ones from the previous week. There are only one or two pistils that are turning orange so a long way off her final flush of flowers and ripening. This is a good sign of possible things to come. With a longer flowering period , we get a bigger bud !!. Lol There are numerous mains that have now become long bud spikes so should produce a nice yield too. Still sparkling white and a slight tackiness if touched. Smell is just beginning to be evident with a slight hint of sweetness. Grandaddys mimosa is beginning to colour up all over now and her bids are looking more developed in ripeness than the other last too. She does have a lot of leaf to bid it seems but as she swells , this should look less compacted. She is only a small lady in height with around 7 mains developing as spikes. Her smell is a nice juicy fruit aroma so far and I can feel her sticky thc when I rub the stems. They are really developing well now and I am so pleased with the performance of the XS1500. A great light . The other surrogates that are elsewhere are all going well too with the 2 Gorilla cookies really pushing some nice bud sizes out. Nice sized ,stacked colas are all over their structure of both plants and even the lowers are beginning to look good. The #2 Northern lights ( mutant) is catching up with her sister and friends now but is about a week behind in size development. She is a long limbed lady with cluster buds so a lot less productive looking than her sister but she looks nice and healthy with it.. I am noticing a slight mottling on the leaves of a few plants now so I will be adding calmag to the next feed to stop this getting too far and losing energy from photosynthesis. I expect a little yellowing off of older leaves to begin showing now too but the use of coco and L.E.D usually includes adding calmag as they both leech mg from the soil and plants. Hopefully I can catch it before it gets an issue. Temps are more reasonable now the heatwaves are done here so any extra co2 from the exhale bag can now be used as a booster and not to survive. Another good week for the ladies and the xs1500. Keep smiling growmies. The deception is falling apart now !!

DAY 49 F: Hi all. Hope we are all sane and smiling still in the topsy turvy world we inhabit.... These girls have been showing off all week and getting excited for their photo/video stardom to arrive and here we are..... The surrogates that got ousted to the other space are adding amazing , the gorllia cookie are a very productive pair of girls and really starting to look potent and close to finishing. They smell so candy sweet up close and are in perfect health besides the remnants of calmag issues and a few natural fading leaves in one or two places. Mutant #2 Northern Lights has also put a nice bit of bud weight on but nowhere near as much as her sister under the pocket rocket xs1500. #1 Northern lights lady has gone from an innocent , pure white girl and heading into a colourful Jezebel to pull the pollen carriers in. She has a few orange hairs appearing now but is still in a full flush of her original set too. With about 2 weeks to go ans swelling daily , she could be a show stopper of an example of Fast buds genetics. Each long chunky main is beginning to smell so sweet when touched too. A very worthy strain to grow so far ... My Grandaddys Mimosa is really kicking into high gear with her second pistil flush now. This is why I use the Shogun Dragon force and the mimosa is a perfect example of the benefit of it. She is possibly going to double her bud girth with the extra boost it can offer. She has some very tight feeling buds when pressed and even with the higher leaf ratio , should produce some good yield. There is a definite purpling to her inner bud which is not from the Male lemon mimosa and is a good clue to which female the seed came from during the raping !!! My best inspector Cluesoe skills will get to work to find her now. She must be a fruity strain from the secondary terps i am getting too. Her height is only about 1ft but her general potential wont be held back by this fact I dont think. This next week should see the Mimosa ripen and swollen to her finish and the Northern lights still in mid swell hopefully. Fingers crossed it keeps on the positive vibe. Be well growmies.

DAY 56 flowering: Hi all and welcome to any new visitors too. We are at the near end point now with this 1st run of the viparspectra xs1500. It has been a very pleasant experience and also a humbling one too. I never expected the performance it has proven and initially thought I would struggle to find a practical way of incorporating it into my set up and to see what it had got to offer. Deciding to go the route I have was more driven by the lights abilities to perform wat better than I anticipated. The 5 seedlings soon became 5 big ladies that would have been impossible to squeeze under the 2x2 flowering coverage They did however, get an amazing start right up to flowering beginning before I had to choose who stayed under the xs1500. The 2 that I mainly diary for the lights ability are the focus of the journal but I have to include a little on the other strains due to their initial support from the light and to also include the Gorilla cookies as they are amazing plants. They are both so close to ready now and sadly one of the mains has been hit with an little bud rot from its density. The buds smell so candy sweet now too. I will be keeping a very vigilant eye on these now. Grandaddys mimosa had continued her swelling from using the #Shogun Dragon force and is a perfect example of how the product works in the final 2 weeks of flowering , when usually they are fading out to finish. The buds have doubled in girth with an absolutely solid feel to them too . The light has helped create some very hard buds. No signs of whisky popcorn at all and each stack is a solid spike of flowering plant. For such a squat girl, she is so impressive. She smells so fruity with a hint of citrus to her and she is engulfing all the leaves that had been poking out previously. I think she will be a surprise yield next week !. The Northern lights girls are both doing really well too with the #2 mutant starting to ripen up finally now. She is still way taller than her sister but has sone long node gaps. #1 is totally different, she is a spiked monster compared and her colas are taking on a nice pale orange colour as they ripen. I do think she will go another week before being ready to consider harvest. She is still so fresh looking in a lot of places that I dont want to rush her at all. The light has managed to penetrate deep enough into the plant to create long spiked colas with no issues down low in the canopy with whispy popcorn to mention either. This is a very positive point to mention as some l.e.d do not get the penetration needed to do more than create a top canopy with poor light reaching deeper and not supplying the par they need. This light does not have that issue by a long shot. It penetrates like "Dirk diggler" and reaches all those important ladies parts !!!.... I am most impressed by the mimosa so far and as a 1st gen cross auto of a mimosa lemon Male sacks and a random multi strain seeding from its pollen release , I have ended up with a good amount of crossed autos from trusted and stable strains. It can be fun growing these out and so far this is the 3rd from the batch that I have successfully run. Aside from the benefits of the end products we get , the journey we go on can be an amazing and eye openening experience. If you start to investigate how these plants really live , love and die and how they use the network of available systems to communicate and build our much loved bud factories , you will find it hard to climb out of that rabbit hole . Finding out that fungi is not the man everyone wants to party with but IS a complex communication system used in nature to meet the needs of the whole forest/fauna in unison is life changing !!!!!. Be well growmies. See you on the next update... UPDATE UPDATE###UPDATE####UPDATE The Gorilla cookies have reached their end !!. At day 57, they are now going into a 48hr dark period before harvesting . I did have a couple of bud rot issues in one or two buds due to the density of their growth. I am hoping to keepnot at bay during the low and slow dry after trimming wet this time. I will update their yield ect once they finish. Pics dont do them justice and they smell so sweet. Thanks fast buds.

DAY 63 THE FINALE !!!!! Howdy all. I hope we are all well and in the green. This has been a very interesting and rewarding journey for me in so many ways on this journal. I have had the opportunity to run a seed of my own which has been a brilliant result from what I am looking at as I type this. It stayed really squat and has produced some somid hand grenade sized buds that smell of a diesel and fruit combination. I also picked up the lemon from her pollen chuckers genetics too. Should be an interesting cure I hope. I did find a couple of bud rot spots that had to be pulled out but with her density I am not shocked at all. I will be using the dehumidifier for their dry for sure. The Northern lights autos have also finished nicely too and I do think could go a little longer with a push but time is up and the next run is looming !!!!!!. She has some great sized spiked colas to enjoy my attention everytime I go in the room . Just like the other girl , she did have a couple of mould spots that had to be taken out but not too much of a loss thankfully. Her mutant sister will also be put into her dark 48hrs along with these as she is also done now. She has a lot less to harvest but looks so sweet and potent up close to the buds now. I took the Gorilla cookies out earlier in the week as they had finished perfectly. After 48hrs dark I used the bowl trimmer to help with time and get her off the stalks as I did find some mould on them too. Recent environmental changing has bought RH issues to the front again. They have given up some great smelling and solid nuggets that are now starting their drying out period in the nets. The rest of the ladies will be joining them later in the week until I can do a harvest report and my opinion of this amazing light unit from viparspectra. With new projects afoot and lots of re jigging to accommodate them , I am looking forward to the next few runs too. I hope you will join me for the fun and always welcome comments and ideas too. Be safe and well growmies

This strain just gets in with it from the off. Relatively easy to grow and very willing to train too. Without any training , they could be a nice sized outdoor plant too but to keep her in range of my space , they both needed a little l.s.t. A very vigerous grower with inissues in full feeds and even a little podging too. No issues along the way with anything g really and they hit flower towards the end of week 4 and had a very good stretch session during the 1st 10 days of flowering. Not a lot of experience is needed for this strain as it wants to impress you from the seedling stage.

I had to try one of the seeds I was in excess of due to an unwanted Male pollen sac tucked away on a lemon mimosa auto I grew. It seeded a multi strain crop ( 7 other strains !!!) and I needed up with some very viable looking beans among each flowering girl. Not enough to ruin any yield but a couple of buds at most catching them all. This is the 2nd seed grown from it so far with a nice finish and a rapid grow on full auto. All female and she grew low and stocky to produce 3.1 oz of sticky smelly bud built on a small wide frame the branches were a good size to support the many colas that were on board too. Trimming was not too bad and her leaf ratio was good in the end. She did get hit with a little bud rot right at the end but that was my rooms environment going off and not the plant at all. Grown under the Viparspectra xs1500 alongside a northern lights , I was very impressed with the ability of the light and the major buds it helped produce on both plants under it. Well worth the effort and time. Perfect for a small cupboard grow too.

An absolute pleasure to work with and grow. She was very responsive to her lst andnhad no issues keeping her growth moving forward. Flowering in week 4 , she spent the 9 weeks building the buds rha gave me the yields. Loved this grow and the xs1500 kicked some ass too.
