So this is my first entry. A little late now but oh well.
There seems to be a little too much heat from the light and possibly a nutrient deficiency.
Since the leaves are showing necrosis and curling up of the edges. I decided to start with raising the lights. And under recommendation of a fellow grower I’m running half the recommended nurse and overwatering this morning to clear out some of the salts or something of that nature.
Let’s see what happens moving forward.
So last week at the tail end of our record breaking heatwave, I forgot to turn on the AC in the grow room. When I got home the leaves of the wild Thai were all curled upwards and starting to turn brown. The temp showed 57.8 but it was already late afternoon, I assume that mid day it was much higher.
All the plants show signed of heat stress except one.
The wild Thai was the worst with dry browning leaves all across the top of the scrog. The blue dream looks wilted like I over watered it, it could be a factor as I over watered until runthrough about a day before the soil was ready. I usually let it dry a bit more before I do something like that and it seems I may have been too eager.
But I have one plant that is blue dream. I grew it from seed and it has always been slow growing and a little bit of a reject with mis-shaped leaves and no matter what I did it looked odd, so I think it’s genetics went wrong…. The reject blue dream is hardy as hell. It didn’t give a damn about anything and is growing like nothing happened. No wilting, no burning, just flowering with it’s weird leaves. Kind of reminds me of that freakshow genetics you see online. So bizarre.
Have a great day Growmies!
I think you know what it’s like. You made a mistake now you have to live with the results.
They girl in the back is just angry and I get it. Most of her leaves dried up and are now very brown but we are near the end of the grow so I’m just waiting.
The blue dream on the right is hanging in there also. Looking a little worse for wear but not as crispy as the wild Thai.
Now you know the one I mentioned last week? The one plant that was slower to do everything and has always been a runt and a bit odd. It didn’t care if I overwatered it or under watered or it got too hot. It’s still growing as if nothing ever happened, soooooo I decided to take a clone… you know… for science.
Maybe I should make it a bonsai or something with its gnarly leaves and stunted growth?
Really I just can’t wait to smoke these.
I’ll get some up close and personal 😉microscope pics for your viewing soon and you can let me know what you think.
Thanks for coming to my tedtalks.
See you soon growmie. 😉
Sooo frosty!!!
Welcome back Growmie, it’s been a week and I have to tell you… nothing. Nothing new has happened.
It’s been rather uneventful. But that’s ok 👍. So I’ve been better with my water and I’ve got the heat dialed in, thanks to moderate weather and me remembering to keep the AC unit turned on.
You know when your bummed because nothing new appears to be happening but still relieved because nothing bad happened? I’m relieved.
So at this point now I’ve tried to get a good look at my trichomes. I’ll get better I’m sure but my pictures are crap and I’m second guessing myself. Looks like a mix. Some areas are all browning, but I did have a heat problem so degrading may have occurred. And there are other places that look like they aren’t even milky yet.
So im going to keep an eye on it and see if I get it right. I mean seriously, what’s the worst that could happen, right? I could get less potent cannabis and some couch lock? It’s still cannabis. You know what I mean?
I’m quite excited but I still have a ways to go.
Let me know if your growing the blue dream or the wild Thai!
Ok so my bad. Turns out I fell off the social media train for a bit.
I’m back now and let’s catch you up.
So again not much new is happening a week later. Watching the tricombs and getting mixed signals because of the damage I did to them during the heatwave incident…. Let’s not talk about it.
We learn from our mistakes and move on.
But I’m confident that we can wait longer, the tricoms aren’t ready yet.
